Here are a pair of 14 x 11 inch signed. Vintage oil paintings of Hawaiian children in their native wear. The children are smiling and the colors are vibrant as the photographs display. You can really see the richness of this artist's work when you observe the flowery leis, and the careful details employed as the board was carefully stained around the edges to bring the child subjects into focus. It is difficult to date these pieces. They may be from the 40's, 50's or 60's, and could well have been done by a street artist selling to the tourists. There are scuffs and scratches, but the colors are so wonderful that any damage gets lost in the beauty of the art.

Check out my! Antique Chinese or Japanese 6 panel table/fireplace screen. I'm not certain of its age but it shows definite signs of age with a nice patina and appropriate condition issues. I will say it is from 1870-1920. Chinese Export. Each section has a different scene painted on board. Panels have a top carved section with flowers and leaves. Also carved scenes along the edges and in the middle. Bottom section has animal carved. At the very bottom is another carved floral design. Paper label on back. You can see a picture of the hinges. Its like a pin and slot mechanism. Really good quality with nice joinery at the ends. Each carved section is a panel. Condition: Some damage throughout. Second section has pieces of the top carving missing. The oil painting on the end piece is peeling. Random cracks throughout. In pretty good shape ... moreoverall for its age. As I understand the story- in the late 60's there was only one house on Keyser Pond- that of Louise Burdick. She gave these paintings to a dear friend who would visit her. These are from the estate of the friend who recently passed away. The first painting: Winter scene. Mallards flying over open water, snow in background. On an 18 x 24 canvas board. SIGNED in the lower right hand corner. Please look closely at the pictures: you'll see"ellbee" printed vertically on this painting. On the back of the painting is. In pencil handwriting, Keiser Pond. They were purchased in Massachusetts. Dimensions are 16 ¼” X 19 ½” frame width is 1 ½” Painting themselves measure 13 1/5" X 16 3/4" They are a great size not too small not too big. They are in very nice condition.

These two paintings are both signed A Gibbons. I could not find anything about the artist, but believe they are midcentury. Each is 18 1/2" x 14 1/2" gilt wood frames, on the back is an old sticker indicating the frame shop is in Montreal, so believe artist is Canadian. They are either oil or acrylic on a thin masonite board, not wood or canvas, so have a more glossy look to the finish. The glossy finish picks up the light in a bright room, but colors look darker than pictures show in a room with low light. Very good condition, I didn't notice any damage.
