VICTORIAN GREEN DUMP GLASS PAPERWEIGHT WITH FLOWERS 3 1/2" TALL. From my own collection is this beautiful green glass"dump" paperweight which I bought over 30 years ago. The paperweight has 2 flowers inside- the one at the top slightly larger than the underneath one. The flowers ar coming from a little vase or holder. It has lots of little bubbles in the glass& some of them are slightly rough on the surface. There are a few in one place which are opaque& a slight scratch both of which I have tried to show this in the photograph. It measures approximately 3 1/2" tall& 1 1/2" diameter at the base(which is not absolutely flat) Weighs approximately 600g hence the postal charge is rather high It is in very nice condition with defects as mentioned which are commensurate with the age& type of item. An attractive Victorian glass dump type paperweight. It is an antique example and dates around 1880. It is in green glass as typically found for these pieces and they were thought to be made at provincial glass factories. This example is of torpedo shape and has a disc foot for added stability. It has been quite carefully made for its type and it features three tiered flowers set with air bubble centers and a pot beneath. This paperweight is a nice example of its type and more carefully made than average. What a Fantastic Offer! This is a Beautiful Antique Pre-1840 Hand Blown English Green"Dump" Glass Paperweight. This one is unsigned but is both exceptional and in our opinion the work of a master. It is 2&3/4 inches height and a full 9&1/2 inches circumference weighing 1 pound 6 ounces. The bottom has an iron pontil and the exquisitely detailed Controlled Bubble Red& White Triple Trumpet Flower design. We believe this paperweight was quite possibly created by Kilner and is most likely from the Yorkshire(West Riding) or Wakefield area in England. ANTIQUE KILNER SILVER FOIL FLOWER BOTTLE GLASS DUMP PAPERWEIGHT, c.1830
ANTIQUE KILNER with COLOURED GLASS BEADS and SILVER FOIL FLOWERS DUMP WEIGHT c.1830 With my limited photography skills. I wasn't able to capture the glass wafer with clearly visible mark. The mark is a mixture of strong characters and characters almost non-readable: J KILneR at the top- mAKER in the center-W.ield with almost non-discernible other characters at the bottom. The letters on my weight are raised and all capitals. I used small letters to show letters which are less'pronounced' The wafer does look less like ground down. More like not properly impressed. In my mind- no doubt- this is an authentic Kilner. The most important characteristic is the shape- the most desired flattened globular appearance of classic weight. RARE. There are 6 flowers inside the silver foil'basket' or'pot' with multi-colored centers: ... moreone baby-blue. One cobalt-blue, two blood-red and two almost black/dark brown( The weight is in a fair condition- a few surface nicks and scratches. One bruise- but there is an annealing crack across it. I was told that this could be'fatal' it may fall apart even in the sunlight. For now. However, it is solid and the crack adds a dimension to the glass dump- at least according to my aesthetics. It measures 8 cm/3 1/4' Width diameter x 7 cm/2 3/4' Height. It weights 760 g. I will wrap it and put in a small tin box. Then in a bigger carton box. Shipping will cost $15-$25 to Canada. A very attractive end of day dump glass paperweight Egg shaped and a genuine Victorian example. Not a reproduction, this particular paperweight is a deep sea green With a pot shape at the base. 9 flowers spread outwards arranged in two tiers On the lower level are five flowers and above are a further four blooms Each extends upwards from a bubble stem and the petals form around a perfectly formed bubble in the centre of each flower Smaller bubbles sit upon the petals but the hero bubble is always neatly in the centre of the flower head Measuring a handsome 4.25" 10.8cm) tall with a rough cut pontil. This quite large Victorian dump paperweight I think dates from between 1860 and 1880. The paperweight is made of heavy hand blown glass with a lovely green tint with a bubble design inside which gives a great effect as seen in the photos, underneath there is a nice pontil mark as shown, the paperweight measures 5 inches high and around 3 inches diameter and in good condition just very minor scratching with age and use
