Five(5) colour prints of paintings by Railway Artist. Kenneth G Bowen from the steam train era. Each print measures approx. 160mm x 110mm; frames measure approx. 295mm x 242mm x 15mm. One frame has a small chip mark and the print of steam engine 3822 requires repositioning. The prints are from paintings of: 3822 possibly leaving Goulburn; 3827 believed to be leaving Gosford; 3532 and 5355 just north of Gosford; 3802 possibly on the southern line, and'Garrett" 6027 in a railway yard(somewhere! All prints are in unblemished condition and all glass is intact.

This is a pair of beautiful bird paintings on silk from Japan. These are from my Mother's collection. We lived in the Philippines for two years in the early 1950's and stopped in Japan on our way home to the States. I'm not sure just where she purchased these but it would have been somewhere in Tokyo. The prints have been professionally framed and the back shows the lacing that was done to secure them properly. Each of them has a Japanese signature in the right hand corner. 2 Vintage Moghul Persian Micro Mosaic framed Miniature Paintings Horses Hunters
This auction is for two miniature paintings with micro mosaic frames. I purchased them several years ago in a thrift store not knowing exactly what they are. However similar pictures and frames have sold recently on eBay and all are described as Moghul Persian paintings with micro mosaic frames. Sometimes additional information is included. These may be painted on bone. But I do not see the pores normally visible on bone and cannot be sure what they are made of. Therefore, I have included the maximum number of photographs so a bidder can make his or her own decision on the origin and material used in these items. They are beautifully done hunting scenes but they aren't a perfect pair. The figures are slightly larger on the one matted in red and it is signed by the artist, while the one with the green mat is unsigned, although it is possible ... morethere is a signature under the matting. The frame on the green one is slightly larger measuring approximately 5 3/4 inches by 11 3/4 inches while the red one is approximately 5 5/8 by 11 3/8 inches. The painted sections are quite similar in size with the red measuring approximately 2 inches by 7 3/4 inches and the green one approximately 2 inches by 7 5/8. As noted in the condition section, there is a gouge in the mosaic work on the outer edge of the bottom of the frame(green mat) pictured in the fourth photo. It does not show when the picture is standing since it is on the base. Also, there is a small crack in the mosaic work on the top of the one matted in red which is about 1 and 1/4 inches long and less than 1/16 of an inch wide. It is not visible when the picture is hanging or displayed unless one looks down on it directly. Please review the pictures carefully and email with questions prior to bidding. Also please read the description because while I have described these paintings as best I can, I am not familiar with the technique and may not be including all of the relevant information. This auction is for four(4) unframed Indian sand paintings. They are all signed by the Navajo artist named B. Begay. He works out of a Pueblo near Santa Fe. New Mexico. These paintings have four different Yei's. The Navajo Yei means something along the lines of spirit, god, demon or monster. The most benevolent of such beings are the holy people who are associated with the forces of nature. This came from Wikipedia) They are a great grouping. Chinese Silk Paintings Set ( 2 )Signed -Scholar & Servant ? Gilt Framed w/ Glass
This set of 2 paintings was gotten by my aunt and uncle when they lived in Shanghai in 1930. I do not know the age of the pieces. They are painted on silk with what looks like watercolor and ink. But I am not sure of the medium. They are matted and framed under glass. The mattes are a pinkish/mauve color. The frames are gold gilt paint on wood. The framed paintings are approximately 11 inches wide x 19-1/2 inches tall x 1 inch deep. The actual paintings are approximately 6-1/2 inches wide x 8-1/2 inches tall. The colors are still very vibrant. And are pinks, reds, turquoise blues, greens, grays, gold, white, and black. They are very delicately rendered. Watchman and features a male Indian dancer depicted from the rear- The other has a tall vase. A wedding vase and a bird. The painting on the wedding vase depicts a hummingbird drinking from a flow er. Not being that familiar with Navajo art I cannot tell you more about the stories behind these two paintings. Sizes: 25" x 17" and 25 1/2" x 13 1/2" These paintings are done with materials found in nature such as crushed charcoal. Corn meal, pollen and turquoise. The raised painted surface feels like sandpaper. Both are wired to hang. The frames alone are worth about $20 each. The papers on the back of both have tears but this does not effect the pictures themselves. I would consider ... morethe condition of each painting as very good. Tonight we are offering for auction a Vintage Pair of Signed Tip Freeman Airbrush Paintings from the his 1940's Honolulu Art Studio. These prints were commonly purchased by Military Personnel stationed in Honolulu during WWII and sent home as gifts and souvenirs. That appears to be the case with these pictures. They are each signed"Tip Freeman Honolulu" but were framed by the Spencer Moore Co. in Charleston WV. Fortunately. Whomever sent them home thought to include the Tip Freeman Art Studio business card which was taped to the back of each picture, which is a nice touch. Each picture framed is app 16 1/2" wide by 21 1/2" tall. They represent two of Freeman's well known floral prints- the Lavender Orchid and the Red Hibiscus. This is two Shikishi. Painted paper board, depicting Begging Monks on their morning rounds, by Yamasaki Shuzan, a zen painter for whom I have no information. The Shikishi measure 10 3/4" 27.3cm) x 9 1/2" 24.2cm) They are matted, side by side in a single simple black frame measuring 25 1/2" 64.1cm) x 15 1/4" 38.7cm) The shikishi are in fine condition and are not at all toned as they appear in some of the photos. I never received a descriptive letter from John Stevens when I bought these paintings from The Shambhala Zen Art Gallery so I don't have a translation for the calligraphy in the two paintings.

The end of the oar or paddler has a little bend in the paper that could be flattened just right. I purchased these at an estate auction and am uncertain of their age. Please note that my shipping time is up to 5 business days as I have multiple jobs and can only ship one day a week. If you happen to purchase after I return from the post ... moreoffice on shipping day it will be a full week wait until I am able to ship again.
