for auction is just about the best quality antique quartersawn oak dining table that you will find in it's price range. i have some tables that are from 8600 to 25.000.00, but they are horner or roux, meeks, belter, and the like. but for a table of it's class, they do not come much better. i listed it as hastings or better. i do not know the maker, but i can assure you that hastings never made one of this class in a finer fashion. it could be hastings, if not, it is as good or better. it is solid quartersawn oak, has a great form split pedestal with a hidden center support leg. it has a very very nice and very thick contoured skirt that is attached by screws and metal supports that slid into a groove on the table skirt. the top of the skirt has a molded edge which adds that special touch. the feet are fluted to match the great fluted ... morepedestal. anyway, a wonderful table to say the least. it is 52 inches wide and just at 30 inches tall. it has roller bearing original to the the table and center leg as opposed to casters. it opens up to enable an eight foot dining table. there are no leaves for the table. i am sure there were some at some point in time, but when i bought it,none were included. i can make some quartersawn leaves for my cost should anyone have an interest in that. again a great table. it may be picked up at my home or shipped at the buyer's expense. good luck.

No company name that I could find but would have been a high end Victorian table made possibly 1890's-1900. Some small scratch's and dings. And old worn finish. As can be seen in pictures finish is really worn on one side of legs. For someone wanting that clean look this table is truly worthy of a complete restoration. U.S. sales only. for auction is one of the finest empire mahogany dining tables i have owned in this price range. i have had horner and others that were in excess of 10-14.000, but none any better built or better quality. this is a great 54 inch split pedestal table with a great turned center leg suppot. it has three 14 inch leaves which have the same grain, color, and patina as the top. leaves installed makes this an eight foot table. if the leaf runner stops were removed, i expect it would open to 12 feet. the table is presented in original finish, there is some crazing to the finish but i would never refinish it. the table is solid mahogany with no veneers, has great grain and a fantastic pedestal which is heavily carved and contoured. the feet are massive claw feet which are carved all the way up the knee to the pedestal. i sold this table to a fella ... moremaybe 3 or 4 years ago and he needed some money, so i have him his money back. with shipping charges i have almost as much in the table as i am starting it for. i am taking it apart to put in storage as i have no room in my house for it. i have like 3o pictures so if you want to see anything else hopefully i have a picture of it, if not i can get one. the table may be picked up at my home or shipped at buyer's expense. good luck. i just spent several hours cleaning the dirt and grim out of the carvings etc. i used new life and liquid gold, so if it looks a bit shinny here and there i probably didn't get all the cleaner wiped away. any spots or usual looking objects in any of the pictures if from a dirty camera. i can't seem to get some of the junk off the lens.

great antique quartersawn oak swan table round split pedestal claw feet 54 inch
for sale is a solid quartersawn oak dining table with a split pedestal. i have it pictured at being open 12 feet. That is all the room i have, i expect it will open to 15 feet. i have it also pictured open at 8 feet. at any rate, the table is 54 inches in diameter, has claw feet with sitting swans, i think that is what they are, resting on the foot extension that attaches to the pedestal. actually i have had this table stored for a long time. if it has leaves, i can't find them. i have several 54 inch leaves but i can't find any that fit this peg and hole pattern. leaves can be made if someone wants some. i made 7 last week for a table i sold. i used quartersawn oak and the material cost about 65.00 per leaf. i did not find leaves nor did i find a center leg or middle leg to support the table if extended a long distance. at 8 feet ... moreit does not need a middle leg, at 12 it does. i have a quartersawn middle leg shown in the pictures where it is opened to 12 feet. it is not the original leg that the table may have had at one time, it is however a 100 years old or older, but i can make it work if someone wants to use this table for banquets. anyway, as is, no leaves and no center leg. getting back to the table, it is a very striking table of solid quartersawn oak. it is very solid with no loose or wobbling parts and pieces. it opens and closes with ease. it has very nice quartersawn flake all over the table. if anyone has an interest in leaves and middle leg, i would be happy to complete your request. i would charge 100.00 for the middle leg installed and 25.00 for each leaf i make. the material cost would be additional of course and the last leaves i made that figure was about 65.00 per leaf. it is a great table with or without leaves. it may be piked up at my home or shipped at buyer;s expense. good luck.

I have been in this business for 43 years and I have asked my refinisher. My cabinet maker and everyone is confused as to what wood is used on this table. I always thought it was mahogany, but now that it is set up the top looks like solid black walnut on the very top, but the skirt and pedestal base are figural mahogany. Overall the condition is really nice and it is a nice table. It comes with no leaves. The condition of the table is as found showing minor surface scratches here and there and one lamination seam that is there but not pulling apart. The table is in very usable condition, but we do offer a full restoration for those who would prefer it. for sale a wonderful split pedestal antique quartersawn oak 54 inch round dining table that opens to 10.5 feet. it has very thick table glides and is solid quartersawn oak. No veneers. it opens and closes with the greatest ease. it has a center leg and a locking mechanism. you will not find better quartersawn oak i don't think in any table. the flake is very large. the pedestal is remarkable, huge claw feet and heavily carved knees that are high, deep, and thick. the table has one of the finest pedestal i have seen in this type table, it also has a carved collar above the legs the table is hastings quality or better. it is in near mint condition. i know of no carving missing or defects in the construction. it is very solid and does not wiggle,wobble,or move anywhere it is not suppose to move. i have 4-12 inch quartersawn oak leaves for ... moreit. when the leaves in place, the table is 8.5 feet. it could accept another 12 leaf, 2 would not work as you need a little space to get them together. 8.5 is big enough for most rooms, in fact too long for many dining rooms. there is a light dark place in finish on the top. the pictures make it look 10 times worse than it is. it is barely noticeable just looking at the table. it never bothered me, but it could be sanded out with ease. save this there is no other issues to report. it is absolutely a very fine table, heavy and thick, great carving and the best quartersawn oak in any table. it may be picked up at my home or shipped at the buyer's expense. good luck.
