for auction a wonderful antique empire mahogany huge library table or partner's desk. it is 60 inches wide. 36 inches deep, and 30 inches tall. it has a full length drawers on both sides but they are of course on opposite sides. this is just a great piece. the double pedestal is so well carved and the feet are magnificent. it also has great carved corners. i took these pictures about dark so they lack a good bit quality wise, but maybe you can ascertain the quality and beauty of this table. it could have been made by thomas day, i am not sure who the maker, but whoever it was, the table is great. the feet are just the best i have ever seen. as you can see, there is a carved bundle of leaves and other items that come over the top of the stretcher and rest there. great piece. it may be picked up at my home or shipped at the buyer's ... moreexpense. i can help arrange shipping should that be beneficial to anyone. good luck. ps. i paid a bundle for it some time ago and am just trying to get the investment back. i just took a look at the pictures, they are a bit dark and i pulled it out of the basement as i have room in the house for it and proceeded to dust it off with liquid gold. i see that i forgot to dust the stretcher. anyway, a good cleaning would do it good.

antique walnut mahogany tilt top table turned pedestal thick skirt period early
first off the pictures are really bad. The white spots i think are dirty spots on my lens that i can't seem to get off. at any rate, for auction is a wonderful early period piece. i expect it was made circa 1860 or so. it has a very thick skirt both high and wide. all original as far as i can tell, pegged together. tilts and locks perfectly. it is as solid as a rock and does not wiggle, wobble, creak, or move in anyway other that it is intended to do. the pedestal is a nice turned mahogany piece as well as the three legs. legs are drilled for casters but there are none in it, but it would require a short shank caster with sleeve. these are easy to come by should you want some. there is a large beaded molding along the bottom of the skirt. there are a few pieces of the beading missing but it is not noticeable. the top appears to be walnut, ... morethe secondary joist supports are oak i believe. it is not uncommon for these early pieces which are hand crafted to be constructed of several type woods. it is a wonderful piece. it is 30 inches wide and 29 inches tall without caster. any question please ask. i gave 700 for it quite some time ago. it may be picked up at my home or shipped at the buyer's expense. good luck.

This is a very nice antique Victorian pedestal style dining table base. You could also use them as 2 separate console bases. It is solid mahogany and has a fluted pedestal, it is stamped with the number 100 on the bottom. It originally had a 50" top, it measures 25" high, it is designed to have castors which would add some height, measuring across the center of any two legs it is 26 1/2" and the top brackets are 14 1/2" wide x 12" deep, the legs are 2 3/4" wide. Some of the hardware on the top is missing as you can see in the pictures. Overall it is in good condition, some scuffs, nicks and dings to the legs which you can see, no splits or cracks to the pedestal or feet and no repairs. for auction is one of the finest empire mahogany dining tables i have owned in this price range. i have had horner and others that were in excess of 10-14.000, but none any better built or better quality. this is a great 54 inch split pedestal table with a great turned center leg suppot. it has three 14 inch leaves which have the same grain, color, and patina as the top. leaves installed makes this an eight foot table. if the leaf runner stops were removed, i expect it would open to 12 feet. the table is presented in original finish, there is some crazing to the finish but i would never refinish it. the table is solid mahogany with no veneers, has great grain and a fantastic pedestal which is heavily carved and contoured. the feet are massive claw feet which are carved all the way up the knee to the pedestal. i sold this table to a fella ... moremaybe 3 or 4 years ago and he needed some money, so i have him his money back. with shipping charges i have almost as much in the table as i am starting it for. i am taking it apart to put in storage as i have no room in my house for it. i have like 3o pictures so if you want to see anything else hopefully i have a picture of it, if not i can get one. the table may be picked up at my home or shipped at buyer's expense. good luck. i just spent several hours cleaning the dirt and grim out of the carvings etc. i used new life and liquid gold, so if it looks a bit shinny here and there i probably didn't get all the cleaner wiped away. any spots or usual looking objects in any of the pictures if from a dirty camera. i can't seem to get some of the junk off the lens.

19 th Century George III- 14 Foot D-End 3 Pedestal Mahogany Banquet Table This banquet table came from a prestigious New Orleans estate which consisted of furniture ranging in age from 1820 to 1870. The exact age of it is unknown. But is most likely from the middle toward the last quarter of the 19 th Century. This rare antique find has a beautiful Mahogany grain veneer and Satinwood inlay banding around the entire tabletop. The top was professionally restored and refinished. It is 14 feet long when fully extended and 4 feet wide. At 14 feet there are 3 pedestal tables plus two 30 inch leaves connected with square wooden rods. The pedestals retain their original finish and one leg on one pedestal was re-pegged as part of the restoration. The table is very sturdy(sturdier than most modern extension tables. Here is a really terrific 19th century mahogany single pedestal empire style game table. It has absolutely gorgeous flame mahogany veneers on it's side panels all the way around and the lovely large pedestal is supported on four feet. Each of which has casters, though these appear to be replacements for the originals. This table is almost square, measuring 34 inches wide and 33 1/2 inches deep, front to back and stands 29 3/4 inches tall on it's current casters. There are some stains on the table top as described in detail above and shown in my pictures but I personally don't feel old character marks like these don't detract from it's presentation and would easily be covered by a table cloth or runner if the new owner preferred. There are a few minor nicks and small scratches to the finish elsewhere as you would expect ... moreeven with very respectful use over time but the gorgeous veneers around the sides. The pedestal and base in general all appears to be in intact and particularly nice condition for a piece it's age. George IV Mahogany Pedestal Dining Table with an extra leaf. Circa 1835.
Superb patination and color in this period mahogany center table/dining table. The diameter is 48 inches and extends to 71.5 inches. The table is 29 inches high. Please look at the condition report and the photographs. There is very slight warping to the top but the catches pull the table together well. There is an old water mark that has not been restored at all. There is one small section of moulding missing to one side(see pics) The woodworm is old and dead for a long time. There was no deterioration in the structural integrity of the pine carcass as a result(see pics) There are some chips to the veneer at the very bottom of the lower platform. The additional leaf was rarely in the table and over time retained its color while the table itself mellowed slightly. At some point the additional leaf was bleached and recolored to match the top. ... moreThere are four inset brass wheels. One to each of the carved feet. The base and the pedestal are cut from thick mahogany veneers and applied to a pine base.
