French Louis XV Rococo Gilt Marble Top Console Table France. C. 1890-1920 Item# 130106JNW13 This is a simply stunning work from the late 19th to early 20th Century. A French Louis XV Style Console Table with brilliant Gilded surfaces. The top of this piece is glorious, a removable shapely rose marble top with an incredible thick solid piece of marble measuring 1 1/8" thick. It projects slightly over the edge of the conforming table frame, this with an overwhelming cyma-curve influence that allows void of the royal piece to outline the crown of a king. The central motif is a rocaille treatment surrounded by swirls of acanthus and foliage that drapes along the molded frame. Flanked by the pair of cabriole legs on either side that are locked in place with a decorative and functional stretcher embellished centermost with another deep shell ... moreformation. The frame is held together in the back with a single board that dovetails on either side. Another secondary board dovetailing across the center beneath the marble top to lock the frame in place. This is a gorgeous piece for an interior designer or anyone who appreciates the grandeur of fine Louis XV furnishings. A very fine late Victorian French Empire style maple table with bronze mounts. The top bronze framing Belgian marble. The legs have bronze lady Egyptian heads with anthemium trailing below, the booties in stiff acanthus leaf. The stretcher shelf has a bronze band of leaf, and beads, the table skirt with band of bound reeds. The polished marble top is fine. Table measures 26-3/4" diameter by 29-1/2" tall. Excellent condition: maple without chips or cracks, original finish, all bronze mounts present and with original patination. The marble is without chips or cracks, most normal minor use scratches.

VERY FINE FRENCH EMPIRE ORMOLU MOUNTED MAHOGANY PIER TABLE Circa 1815 Item# 409PLI13Q This is an exceptional and nearly untouched work from the French Empire period. The only change in two hundred years being the replaced marble top and removal of the mirrored back. It retains a wonderful early mellowed surface, the match booked mahogany veneers now a warm cognac hue from years in the sun. The drawer and columns retain their original gilt bronze embellishments and hardware, these of utmost quality and precision- note the very fine chasing and filing of details and quality of the surfaces. The carcass is oak beneath the mahogany veneers, the structure joined almost entirely with dovetailed corners and braces. This is an exceptional find for anyone passionate about works of the French Empire period. Than crowned with a pierced bronze gallery, which serves as the frame holding the marble in place. Table features 2 drawers with bronze pulls on polar ends, and between them on the sides are 2 tooled leather covered slides for candle placement. High straight reeded column form legs, slightly tapering towards the bottom, ending in lovely bronze cup mounts/ footcaps. Table quality is very good, one good polish away from great. Please note that this is one of the two tables we picked up today. They look 95% the same, just different galleries and mounts, but same size, while marbles are identical. Fine French Empire Gilt Bronze Mahogany and Marble Antique Pier Table c. 1830
FRENCH EMPIRE ORMOLU AND MAHOGANY ANTIQUE MARBLE TOP PIER TABLE Circa second quarter of the 19th Century Item# 411LNK15A Dressed in most vibrant flamed mahogany veneers. This very fine French Empire Marble Top Pier Table circulates from the second quarter of the 19th Century, probably just post Napoleon c. 1830. Exquisitely embellished, the table boasts a large selection of entirely original and exceptionally well cast gilt bronze mounts. The drawer features a central mask with outward flowing anthemion flanked by pairs of winged griffins with no pull hardware- instead, the drawer is opened with carved handhold wells beneath the frame. The drawer is hand dovetailed along the front and back. The curled tapering pillars are bold without entirely dominating the form. These with intricate complimenting mounts along the knee and ankle following ... morein the spirit of the anthemion introduced with the drawer. They terminate in some of the most handsomely carved Lion paws, these very finely shaped with red oxide pigment beneath gilding with wear revealing either walnut or beech secondary woods beneath many layers of old wax. They are stunning and absolutely define the piece. Beneath the paws, a flat shelf is veneered with crotch-mahogany and the whole structure rests over turned front feet and squared back feet(these are possibly later additions) An old label beneath the underside of the top is yellowed and missing most of it's text. A highly refined object. This is a piece that sets the stage for a home, particularly when positioned prominently in the entryway or foyer where it can be seen clearly from all angles. Retaining a deep and vibrant red, it has clearly been protected from sun exposure and well cared for through it's long years. Antique French marble-topped foyer table
I purchased this beautiful antique foyer table from a reputable dealer in Baltimore. MD. and have enjoyed it for many years. We are downsizing, and no longer have room to accommodate it. It is in great condition, with a marble table top and wooden base with intricately-carved legs. The diameter is roughly 38.5" and the height is roughly 29.25" PLEASE NOTE the small chip in the part of the table that encircles the marble top. This is a superb marble top console table together with the original mirror made in France circa 1880. The base has a grey marble top with very heavily carved gilt french style carbriole legs. The mirror has the same crest as the console table and also has carvings to the top and bottom of the mirror. 19th Century French Louis XVI style marble top entry or side table. Very pretty. The oval top inset is thick white marble with grey and light tan veining.
