Antique TURNED SPINDLE, SPOOL painted WASH STAND or One Drawer Side Table 1800s
For sale is an antique wash stand from the 1800s-early 1900s. It has pretty turned spindle. Spool legs and towel racks, a scrolled backsplash, with one drawer. It measures 33" tall, and 28" wide X 17" deep at the widest points. It has been painted, so I'm not sure of the kind of wood it is made from. The bottom shelf is a bit warpy, but it can be removed, or permanently mounted, which would solve that problem. The towel racks were a little separated from the table at the front, so for safer, less expensive shipping I removed them. They can be quickly and easily re-attached with the existing hand cut nails, and replacement screws. The drawer opens and closes easily. The paint is chippy and worn, but I think that adds to the charm of this piece! Overall, It is sturdy and in good condition. This is a beautiful ANTIQUE LADIES SEWING or WORK TABLE. Measures 30"H x 19 1/2"W x 16 1/2"D. This table hosts what appears to be its original finish. Along with a 2-Drawer body, spooled base and delicately carved legs. Drawers are dovetailed. With top drawer divided into 10 smaller spaces. Inlay was used to create lids with brass handles for seven spaces. With three spaces open for assorted parts& parcels. One drawer is hinged with pin cushion underneath as shown in photos. 19th C. Antique VICTORIAN MARBLE TOP PARLOR TABLE WITH DRAWER Herter Bros. Stand A mid 19th century walnut marble top parlor table with drawer and brass casters. There are no marks identifying the maker however. In research we have found identical tables that are paint decorated and manufactured by Herter Bros. New York and we believe this to be an example by them as well. The marble is mottled gray and white and sits on a walnut base. It stands 30-1/2” high with the marble in place and the ¾” thick marble top measures 24” x 38” The inside of the drawer measures 20” x 17-1/4” and is 2” deep. Condition: Sometime during its life it has been refinished and has had some gluing repairs. The marble has a tight 4” stress hairline and with the cut of the marble shaped as it is there are typical fine nicks found along the edges. There is one ... morechip of wood on the back of the bottom edge of the drawer but it doesn’t affect operation and can’t be seen with the drawer in place. Up for sale and fresh from a great local estate here on the Maine Coast is this incredibly early 2 drawer walnut stand. Drawers are hand chamfered as pic shows. Tight dovetails. Very solid and heavy for its size. Great turned legs. Beautiful original fancy wreath brass pulls. This stand has great character and you won't find another like it! Antique 19th c two drawer work side table stand drop leaf turned legs rustic
A 19th century two drawer work table with folding leaves on each side. It measures approximately 28.75" tall and 21" deep. With the leaves folded down. It measures about 20.5" wide. With the leaves extended, it measures about 43.5" wide. We believe it is American and we do not know the maker. There is overall normal surface wear commensurate with age and use, including plenty of dings and scratches found commonly on antique furniture. The pull for the bottom drawer is missing. It would also need a minor repair to the mechanism which holds the leaf up on the right side(a metal bracket is used on the left- pictured) The bottom portion of the table appears to have had a reddish colored finish applied later in life- it was not applied to the top, which is drier and more worn. Small Size, c.1820 One-Drawer Sheraton Work Table or Stand, AAFA, No Reserve
Found in New England and up for sale without reserve is a wonderful small size Sheraton Work Table or Stand. It dates from the early 19th century and seems to be maple with pine and poplar secondary woods. It has a nicely dovetailed single drawer and turned legs. The underside of the drawer is hand-planed and the underside of the top is chamfered. It has a warm brown patina and small minor surface flaws attesting to its long and useful life. There is a round water or heat surface stain on the top. See photos 2 and 3) Still very solid and with no repairs or major dings- sits perfectly flat on the floor.
