The 1890-1920 wood frame has exceptional gesso(plaster) ornamentation at the corners and the center of each side.showing layers of intricate scrolls. Flourishes, shells and leaves.exquisitely linked together with a chain-like garland. The gesso is in very nice condition with only minor cracking in one small area and one tiny probable repair nearby. Enlarge photos#6& 7. The original portrait was done in black and red chalk. Heightened with white chalk, which was then enhanced with pen and dark brown ink on brownish paper. This is a print of that famous portrait. I do not know the date of this print, but my guess is prior to 1970 when this frame was purchased by this estate holder. Antique French Fashion Engraving Print Eastlake Victorian Walnut Frame Berlin
Estate sale found antique circa 1880's French fashion engraving in a Eastlake Victorian walnut frame in very good condition. This print is marked at the bottom"PL. L Bureaux Encheplatz 4. Berlin" The engraving print looks hand colored and has no stains or blemishes. The solid walnut with gold frame is in good condition except for one small area of chipped off black japanning which is set over a white gesso base coat. This minor flaws are all shown up close in the photos. The frame has the original finish with a great patina and the glass is very nice. The back shows a one piece this piece of thin wood that I believe is original but has been put back with the original inside surface facing out as the oxidation color is not as dark as the rest of the bare wood. I say this because some layers of old magazine pages are seen under ... morethe wood panel that someone put in some years back to pad out the print to keep it flat and take up the space created by the wood shrinkage from age. I am not an expert of art. But, I would date this print and frame to the late 19th or perhaps the early 20th century. The frame is lovely with deep well effect. There is one area on the bottom where some of the gold has chipped off, very small and hard to see as someone tried to cover it. This could easily be repaired and covered. ANTIQUE ART DECO BRASS? FRAME. MEASURING 7 inches by 10 inches, outside measurements. The metal frame has a raised circular texture to the front, with an applied decoration at each front corner. The frame is circa 1920– 1930’s. It is not attracted by a magnet. So it may be brass– don’t know for sure. The antique frame contains a VICTORIAN colored print– a chromolith– of a little girl mending a sock. Setting is a quaint seaside village with seagulls in the top margin. A very sweet little tiger cat– kitten in playing in the front. The colored antique print is from circa 1900– 1910’s- it is probably an old illustration from a Victorian children’s storybook. Title at the bottom center is“Father’s Little Maid” Print seems in good condition– no tears. No stains. Good color. Vintage? Antique? Continental Army Military Frame w/Tom Lovell Print of Soldier
This is a combination of two very interesting objects- a Tom Lovell print of"The Continental Soldier 1 781" and a beautif ul brass coating over metal(I think) frame with the Continental Army insignia at the top. It w ould be a fantastic gift for the collector. Especially with Father's Day coming up. I am sorry. I really don't know anything about antiques, but I will try to describe it. It is 22" high, 14 1/2" across, and 1" deep. With domed glass. The frame seems to be very old. And definitely has wear, but that just adds to its charm. The brass has come off a little in many areas- please look at the pictures. The print is(I think) from 1962. It is in perfect condition. The white spots are from the flash. Inside the domed glass a greenish burlap fabric frames the print. And is actually quite attractive. What ... morelooks like stains on the mat are actually shadows from the flash. This is an antique tiger wood frame 16 1/2" x 21 1/2" wide. It is 14" x 18" on the inside. The print is a Morris and Bendien" Mother and Son" Isreals is in the other corner, probably the artist. The second picture is what is written on the back of the print. There is some darker places on the print that look like tornados where dirt got inside over the years and the frame has some light scratches that I touched up with stain. Beautiful antique or vintage gold gilted wooden frame with early George Inness print This frame is really nice and in fairly good condition for age. I'm not sure how to best describe the design. So am showing lots of pictures. The frame margin is approxl 1 1/2" wide. The frame measures approx. 15" wide and 11" tall. There are a couple of small areas of missing gilt, including upper right corner, but could easily be repaired. The frame has nice old glass. This nice late 1800s print depicts the President/General on Horseback and measures 26” x 20” framed with 21 5/8” x 15 ¼” reveal and 22 ¼” x 16” back opening. The gilt surface of the gesso is largely original with old touch-up making many edge losses as per the pictures. The print has a lateral central crease and wrinkles. Large Antique Walnut Round Picture Frame- Neoclassical Sculpture Print- Circular
Available here is a beautiful round picture frame. I believe it is made of walnut. But could be mahogany. Regardless, the grain is wonderful. It is carved of solid wood, this is not veneer. It did not translate well in the photos. But there is a large lip that is carved around the frame. It is razed approximately 1.75" It is put together with four separate pieces that are dovetailed. The frame is very solid. It is in very good condition. I can find no issues. The outside diameter is approximately 22" and the inside diameter is approximately 18.5" It features a nice print of a neoclassical sculpture. The frame is very old. Probably dates to the early 1900's or late 1800's. I am not sure if the print is original, but it does have some age to it. I have also listed a matching frame with a similar frame. We are pleased to offer this exceptional. Antique, framed print. The print is signed(picture 5) The subject is an exquisitely executed sketch of a Skye Terrier. The detailing is remarkable and quite realistic. The expression is captivating. The print is framed in the most beautiful manner. The antique, wooden frame is large and substantial. It is finished in black with thick, carved wood, acanthus leaf and scroll accents. These accents highlight and practically cover each corner and extend up the sides, top and bottom. They are gold giltwood and are striking against the black. The print has EDIZ P.V. 21 inscribed under the terrier(picture 6) According to a couple of knowledgeable sources. This indicate that this is, in fact, an engraved reprint of an original art. The number 21 indicates the printing was done in 1921. The matte is also stamped ... morewith two insignias(see picture#7) The first is a fleur de lis with a circle around it. In very tiny print within this circle are the the words, Ediz. P.V. Fiorenza" This indicates that the print and matte were done in Italy. The second stamp on the frame is an artist's paint brush surrounded by a rectangle. Inside the rectangle are the words"Coloratura a Mano" and"Originale Ponte Vecchio" According to what I find online, this is the company in Italy that did the printing. This company was in business in the 1920s and the 1930s. This is an exceptional piece. Both in design and in quality. It is simply stunning. It is in very good condition with only minor scuffing to the finish of the frame. It is covered with a black fiber paper on the back which is still in very good condition. The hangers and wire are still in place. This piece has been well cared for. The measurements are as follows: The exterior frame measures 21" wide and 24" tall. The glass. Antique oval wood frame painted antique gold with print of boys fishing and dog
This is an oval antique gold frame with a charming print of two boys and their dog fishing at a brook. The frame is 10 1/2 inches by 8 3/4 inches. The print has an embossed oval matte. It has the original glass and wood backing. It looks like someone added the wire for hanging recently. No chips. Cracks or splits in the frame, but the paint does have wear(see photos. This is the perfect size frame if you want to display an 8 by 10 oval picture.

This is a Wonderful Antique Picture/Print of The Nativity: JESUS. Mary and Joseph) Ca. 1920's-30's. It is in a round Ogee wood/plaster frame with a painted grain finish( common to this Era) This Manger Scene is covered by Convex glass and t he picture and glass are approximately 15 inches in diameter. The entire Picture measures approximately 21 inches in diameter including the frame. This Print is in Lovely condition and all colors are brilliant. The frame is sturdy but not without some wear as some of the painted grain finish has worn off in places. It is backed with cardboard and picture is held in by small nails. A gold piece of cording with a picture mold hanger was attached at sometime to the back of the frame by two small eye hooks. This is a fine example of Religious Art especially for it's age. This is a beautiful antique Adirondack picture frame holding an 1879 print by H. Hallett& Co. of Portland. Maine. The print is a chromolithograph and is entitled"Hurrah for the Snow" Featuring a young child making a snowball from newly fallen snow. The company name and information on the print is in the lower right corner, partially hidden by the frame. The ornate wooden frame features leaves in all four corners. It is in excellent condition. The backing is wood and has a wire hanger. The print itself measures 10 in. x 14 in. The frame overall measures 15 in. x 19 in. The glass is in good condition. Antique oak frame with scalloped edges; Doves, 1897 print by H. Vogler, matted
Doves antique art print. From the painting by H. Vogler This print was a special supplement to the"Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News" Published May 1, 1897. This print was actually two pages in the supplement and was joined together. There is slight crease in center where this joining occurred. Frame is oak. Rails are 3" wide. This was in my custom framing shop and I asked an artist to paint a black edge around the edge that duplicated the scallops in the wood. The image is 13" x 18 1/2" A beaded black fillet surrounds the image. The mat is green suede. Wonderful piece. This came from my custom framing shop and art gallery that I closed last year. It had well over a $300. price tag on it.

The woman is blonde with a flowered dress and a pink satin cape. She feeds the bird out of a stone doorway. Hollyhocks grow in front of a grilled window. The oval image size is 10" x 14" The frame size is 16" x 20" It is a reproduction antique frame with ornate decoration at top and bottom. The frame is gold leafed. Mats are archival. The top mat is burgundy linen; the inner mat is metallic gold. Wonderful period piece that comes from a custom frame shop that closed. There was still a price sticker of $319.00 attached.

It contains an allegorical print approximately 10" in length and 4" in height. The print depicts an allegorical scene with an inscription in Greek across the bottom. ANTIQUE EBONIZED WOOD FRAME GOLDTONE TRIM & ANTIQUE RELIGIOUS PRINT CARDINAL
ANTIQUE EBONIZED WOODEN FRAME WITH RAISED BEADED GOLD TONE DESIGN. Outer measurements of the frame are 17 ½ inches by 20 ½ inches. The frame and the antique print are from around 1890’s to 1910’s. The print is hand colored. Probably English from the incised stamp on the lower right corner– COLOURED JOSEPH WILSON… Antique print- HAND COLORED– a cardinal. With his red robe, seated in front of a roaring fire, with 2 other figures behind him– one seated and one leaning over the stairway in the up[per left side. The print is also circa 1890– 1900’s. The tone is jovial and relaxed. With piles of books all over, on the table and stacked on a chair near the fireplace. The cardinal has casual slippers on, enjoying a book he is reading near the fire. There is a lot of detail to the print. Unfortunately my pictures do not capture all the details– ... morethe print is much better than it looks in my pictures. The frame is wood. Covered with a gesso, then“EBONIZED” to go along with many furniture pieces of that era. The black gesso has a few chips on the very outside edges of the frame– see my picture of one edge. MEASUREMENTS– outer frame size is 17 ½ inches by 20 ½ inches. There are 2 mats around the print. One off-white and the inside one, a little darker beige, with an inside gold edge. Visible measurement of the print from the front is 7 inches by 10 inches. Old glass and cardboard backing. Frame is tight– corners are good– only one small space on the upper right front corner– see my photo. The whole thing weighs about 4 ½ pounds before any packing materials. ALL SALES FINAL. Antique Adirondack Frame with English Cottage Print
This 10" x 12" charming piece reminds me of pictures I've seen photographed in old English houses. And although the print did not originally come with the frame, the Adirondack frame compliments the picture nicely. The frame, like most old things(including myself these days) does show some wear. There is a piece of the leaf missing in the lower left hand corner and the gold on the inside shows some discoloration.
