This richly detailed Relief crafted wall mounting decorative plate from Germany depicts 2 knights at break at a table in front of a castle. The plate looks and feels like wood but the inner material is white and somewhat porous. Either ceramic or some resin which is coated wood looking. The plate's back covering nearly looks and feels like leather. Its top has an inserted metal loop for wall mounting. The entire plate is 8 1/2 in wide and 1 in deep. The inner image is 6 in wide. Antique 19th C Pennsylvania Dutch German Blessing Folk Art Paper Punch stitch
Up for auction is an antique 19th C Pennsylvania Dutch style folk art German blessing paper punch hand cross stitch embroidery in a late Victorian oak frame recently found at auction in the Lancaster County PA area. It measures 11 x 15" in a 1.5" frame making it overall 17 x 21" approx. There is glass but it does not have bubbles. There is a nail missing on the back but it could use a sturdier backing to keep it tighter. The back has the typed translation and an added note. A very nice piece which is worth adding a little reinforcement on the backing. Best of luck in bidding.
