Antique Art Deco Female Dancer Figural Bronzed Iron Bookends As With Wings. Rare This is a gorgeous set of bookends out of my personal Deco/ Arts& Crafts collection. These gals are incredibly heavy(8 lbs each! and very well made bookends and are quite majestic standing around 9 inches tall with almost an 8 inch'wingspan' The bookends depict a dancer with a flowing dress- mid curtsy and the quality of the iron work is higher end. Similar in quality to the bookends manufactured by Bradley& Hubbard or Tiffany. These were probably made a little before the deco period. But they truly embody the French Art Deco stylings of the late 20's. These are listed in the Collectors Encyclopedia of Bookends on plate 1007 and have a rarity of 5 out of 5. These are also listed on the Antique Collectible Bookends site, one of the larger collections ... moreof antique bookends, many of which appeared in the mentioned book as well as others. Set of 4 handpainted place card holders. Made in Japan circa 1920-30's. Each place card holder is a little under 2 inches accross the bottom and a little over 1 inch at the highest point. The place card holders are wonderful Japanese design. A pair of semi-circles or arches. At right angles to each other. The top arch is hand-painted with a fabulous eye-catching design in variations of red and black with the cream ground as part of the design. One holder has a series of hearts; another roses in black and cream, a 3rd a pair of branches arch towards a bird- all in red and the last in both black and red, somewhat styalised florals. All very finely done. A wire at the back will hold the card. As can be seen in the'photos, the place card holders are made of natural material. Good condition. Beautiful antique wooden Glove/Perfume Box- with the original key- satin quilting on the bottom and lined on top. I purchased a long time ago and was told it was a perfume box. But with the size and glove on top I would say glove box. I have never cleaned the top although been tempted- there is painting of a glove and floral design and I would have hated to remove any of that so has been left original. One corner the wood has slightly loosened- again I never glued or tried to repair so is all original. Has the original little key to lock which I have kept inside but it does lock perfectly. I put an old pair of gloves inside for display but will include if you would like- they are not torn or ripped or stained and off white. Old. Original set of antique solid cast iron bookends featuring the beautiful Boston Terrier made by Hubley Manufacturing Company, Lancaster, PA circa 1920. These Boston Terrier bookends are rare and well made. The Boston Terrier is beautifully detailed, fully figural and with excellent conformation. Each bookend stands 5" tall 5 1/2" long, 2" wide and weighs 2 lbs. 9 oz. They are in very good condition. There is minor finish loss, they are structurally sound, and without cracks, dents, touch-ups or repairs. Hubley Manufacturing Company was incorporated in 1894 in Lancaster. PA by John Hubley. Very rare. High quality, nicely detailed antique expandable metal bookrack featuring two Dachshund's by the Judd Company, CT. Circa 1920. This very rare, wonderful expandable bookrack features two dachshunds sitting companionably side-by-side. They have excellent detailing. You can see they both have collars on. You can even discern the types of collars, one is a flat buckled collar, the other is a chain style. Both ends of the bookrack feature the two dachshunds. Each end plate measures 4 3/8" tall by 4 7/8" wide. The bookrack expands from 8" to over 15" Authenticity is assured as both sides have the Judd serial number 9780 on the back. This set is in very good condition. The end plates are copper plated cast iron. The expanding connecting rods are made of brass. Circa 1920. A rare set of polychromed bronze-clad antique bookends made by Armor Bronze and signed by Salvatore Morani featuring a child seated with a book. Circa 1916. This is a lovely set of heavy original bookends featuring a young child sitting restfully with a book reading. These bookends each stand 6" tall. 4 1/2" wide, 5 3/4" deep and weigh 3 lbs. 7 oz. 6 lbs. 14 oz) Authenticity is assured as both are signed S. Morani(sculptor Salvatore Morani) on the side of the base and have the Armor Bronze hallmark. They are in very good original condition. These bookends were manufactured using the highly sought after bronze-clad process. The bronze-clad method in the 1920's was highly innovative. It was an early electroform process which created some of the most outstanding bookends of that era.
