Early Antique Cincinnati Ohio Cabinet Makers Glue Spatula-Engraved- ca. 1800
Possible Early Cincinnati Cabinetmaker- John Lyon(s) 1777-1841) Glue Spatula. made Ca. 1800-1841. This piece was found in a Ohio antique mall and has many indications of an early glue spatula possibly used by Ohio's second documented cabinetmaker. According to author Jane E. Sikes in her booke The Furniture Makers of Cincinnati 1790-1849- John Lyon from Elizabethtown. New Jersey became a member of James Flinn's Company of Ohio Militia Volunteers in 1792; during said year he was mentioned in several account books as having bought a great deal of hardware. On December 31, 1792, cash was paid John Lyon for making and painting a sign, also cash for two chairs. In 1793 he made furniture for Mrs. Valentine. John Lyons was an articifer or skilled craftsman who may have made furniture for the quartermaster general at Fort Washington. A very sweet image and fine solid brass frame. The handpainted putti's are playful, there is minor wear to the surface image that is commensurate with the age. In my opinion, this lovely antique inkwell dates from the late part of the 19th C. around the 1880's-1890's. The porcelain inkwell insert has two small different spider lines as pictured. The hinge to the inkwell is in good order, and the solid brass feet are fine as well. Overall, the enamelling is fine, but the piece good use a minor cleaning. Antique French Sequined Black Silk & Blonde Horn Hand Fan, Circa 1800-1849
This is an adorable little fan with a small tear on the upper right next to the guard. Needs to be re-glued to the guard. The sticks and guards are inlaid with cloute. With a floral design. The left guardstick has some rough edges that might have been a break in the past that had been repaired- it's very hard to see. The leaf has gold colored sequins and spangles. It measures 9-1/2" long. The fan used to be displayed in a frame as the horn sticks have bent(see last photo) It can still be opened easily, but it can be reframed. Sorry about the shadow covering the left half of the fan- it is all one color- no fading or anything.

Antique Plaster Chalkware Plaque Victorian Couple Wall Hanging Set 1800's 3D
Up for auction is a set of rare 3-dimensional antique plaster/chalkware(I've seen them be referred to as both) Victorian couples. These are in excellent shape considering they're from the early 1800's. There's no markings on the back. As you can see, so I'm unsure of the maker. There is flaking of paint and yellowing of the plaster/chalkware due to the age. You will never find these plaques in perfect condition because they're so sensitive. But these look real good. They measure 11" x 8.25" and the designs are raised by about 2" I've tried to photograph from every angle for your review. The spots that are flaking could easily be touched up with a little paint. Up for sale is this old antique late 1800's early 1900's home sweet home oil painting. Let me start by saying I am not an expert or a dealer of art so please let the pictures do most the talking. This old oil painting was bought at an estate sale, I am not sure of the age and am having trouble making out the artist name. The painting needs to be repaired and cleaned and either a new frame or this frame also restored. The frame itself measures 8-5/8 x 14-3/4 from top to bottom and end to end.
