I presume that these were manufactured in ... morethe 1950's or 60's but I am not sure. Certainly vintage and of good quality. Unlike the cheap imported items available today. Both have been checked by a master electrician and are working fine as seen in pics. The wiring is still very pliable and in good condition. Ready to hang, no rewiring necessary. No mounting hardware included, but can be obtained at any hardware store or lighting supply house. Nice vintage condition but not new or mint, so please do not expect them to be. There are some chips to the shades at the mounting area, which are well hid when installed. There is some old paint at the top of the canopies and a piece of scotch tape, both which I'm certain could be removed. There is some scratching to the frost on the shades, presumably from cleaning. Please expect the items to have various other areas of wear and patina, including scratches, scrapes, dings, rust, dirt, finish loss, etc etc as they are quite old and used. I'm not trying to degrade the items as they do look nice displayed, just trying to be thorough. Please closely examine the pics for best description and contact me with any questions before bidding. First of all they are 17 ¾ inches by 15 ¾ inches(outside) 9 ¾ inches by 7 ¾ inches(image area) They are in very nice condition, but not perfect. They do have some rubs, minor nicks, and some discoloration in the gold areas. These were purchased at an estate sale. They do each have glass in them, with a wood backing, ready for you to add your favorite photo or painting. The outside frame itself is 4 inches in width and 3 ¾ inches thick. It is actually 3 frames together, the inner frame being the gold gilt. You have a nice 1 ½ inch black carved portion, setting off the two gold frames. The size is perfect at 4 7/8" by 3 3/8" What is most interesting is the glass is domed tapering off into each corner. You very rarely encounter such glass in frames. A most unusual feature. I'm not sure of the age of the prints, they appear original, each one is held in by 4 fixed pin s. The back is made from a type of material that is similar to what you find in a 19th century tintype. Each one has a ring hanger. The lady in blue frame is missing the red accent in the lower right corner. The lady in red frame is missing the middle upper red accent. This is a wonderful pair of antique pictures. I can't find any signature on them. They are in timber frames with curved glass and the original backing. I have tried to show you the curved glass in Photograph 7. They measure 13.5cms wide and 10.5cms tall. They are in very good antique condition- although there is a fox mark on the top left of the one with the man sitting on the left. This auction is for a Beautiful Matching Pair Antique Victorian Brass Fancy Picture Frame with the easel stand and are actually marked PAT APR 24-94. They are both marked PAT APR 24-94 on the back of the frames very clearly with a matching number(possibly style number) near the patent markings. The marks are engraved on the backside of the frame. They are in good shape with some signs of age and also still have the glass with the frame. The edges of the glass are rough cut. The frames have a lovely. Leafy design. These are large frames and has the original patina in good condition and measures approximately 9" across and 12" tall. Each weighs almost 2 pounds. They would make a nice addition to a collection or would also make a lovely touch to any home on any Vanity or Dresser. Very fancy with deep flower and scroll work. Just out of a local house is this very nice pair of antique wall hung picture frames that were used for framing Daguerreotypes. They have flowers and ladies faces on an ornate scroll design frame. They both have their original decorated glass inserts and remnants of their paper labels that were marked Daguerreotype. I have seen this called Napoleon III frames. The frames measure 9 7/8 inches high and 8 inches at its widest. The frames are in good condition with some cracking. Small chips, and wear to the finish. The glass insert in one is in excellent condition but the other insert has some of the black reverse paint flaking. See photos. They would make a great addition for your period Dags or other photographs. It is hard to find a pair. Would make a nice addition to any collection. Guaranteed as described. Pair Floral Needlepoints in Antique Deep Walnut Frames
This is a pair of hand-stitched needlepoint floral compositions. Each framed in a matching deep walnut frame. The outer measurements of the frames are 12 inches wide, 14 inches long, and 2 1/2 inches deep. The needlepoints have been stretched over wood and when framed extend the depth by 1/2 inch more. There is glass above the textile, so there is a bit of glare in the photos. The frames have a gilt lining and layers of black painted wood that contrast nicely with the walnut. There is one small fissure in one corner of a frame, shown in the photo. The conition of the frames is very good, with minimal signs of age, and the textiles are in excellent condition. We did not find a signature, but did not remove the needlepoints from the frames. We estimate that the frames date from the mid to late 19th century, and that the needlepoints may be ... moreoriginal to the frames, or may have been added in the early 20th century.
