The taller the tree the thicker the bark. The handsomer the girl the harder to spark. 1887 The earliest entry is from 1884. This Victorian autograph book is leather bound. And has tinted embossed flowers and an urn on the front. There are several signatures in this album that date from 1884 to 1888. There are references to Carlisle NY on a couple pages, so there is some provenance to the album by putting names, dates a nd locations t oge ther. The album does show signs of wear to the binding. And the inside lining page has been separated from the opening page. Me asure ments are approximately 3.5 by 5.5 inches. No odors. Or stains there is normal wea r that one would expect to find with a 100+ year old book. This Victorian autograph album is from my parents antique store that was located in Sarasota. Antique Hand Fan, Framed, From Late 1800s, French
The is a beautiful old fan with the signs of age(some cracks on the folds. One stick had been broken and the right guard had been broken and glued) the best way to display this lovely fan was to frame it. It has three cartouches, surrounded by sequins and spangles. The paintings were done in gouache and the overall fan was of a netting. It has a twisted brass loop. This fan dates from the 1850- 1890. It measures 15-3/4" in width times 8-3/4" in height. The goldtoned frame is 19-1/2" wide and 11-3/4" high. As I noted with my other fan. I can take the back off from the frame and wrap the fan carefully so that there's no damage in the mailing. All you'd have to do is put the back onto the frame. This is up to you but I recommend this- I wouldn't want the fan to be damaged. Up for sale is a beautiful Shadowbox that has been in my family for years and years. The side of the family that made this beautiful Hair work shadow box are the Gunns and the Merchants from San Francisco and Oregon.it is done in wonderful light hair colors.the women were blondes and there are some almost white hair woven intricately in with the blondes.as you can see from the pictures it is a bouquet of flowers with a sweet light blue satin bow.it has a soft yellow/ gold velvet background.may have been much brighter over a 100 years ago.it has been stored in a dark room for a while. Conte de Chavingy, 1651 by Robert Nantueil after Philippe De Champainge. Bouthillier was the Foreign Minister of France from 1608-1652, so the original was done very near the end of his political career. The art measures out at approximately 9 1/2" wide and 12 3/8" tall. Framed and glazed it measures approximately 12 3/8" wide and 14 7/8" tall. We are calling this shabby chic due to some light foxing on the art itself. However, the frame is in good condition. Rare and Gorgeous Antique French Brass Metal Crucifix with Sacred Heart. 1800s Description: Beautiful antique French crucifix in brass with the Sacred Heart at the base. The detail work in this crucifix is gorgeous! Notice the Sacred Heart symbol at the base. And the arrows on each point of the cross! I was told when I purchased it that it is from the 1800's. But I don't see any markings. Measures: measures 15" tall x 5.5" wide Condition: It has lovely patina with darkened tarnished metal and verdigris. Metal is soft and bends easily in places- most of this is in back of the crucifix and some of the metal is bent as a result.

A superb 19th century. 1800s antique large Italian Bronze micro mosaic box. The finest most detailed micro mosaic piece I have ever seen in this size of a box. Very fine intricate cut small glass tesserae with a center medalion of flowers. Gorgeous colors of Tuscan red, spring green, French blue, yellow, white ect. Small flowers of daisies, roses, blue forget me knots. The bronze box has a wonderful old patina and is hinged in the back. Top is nice and snug and opens well. No dents to box. This is a rare very large antique mid 19th century handmade Victorian postmortem hair art mourning piece. It is done in an oval format and framed with a stunningly large victorian wood shadowbox frame. the piece is under glass and it measures 4 inches thick. The whole piece of postmortem art is done by hand with an abundance of very intricate floral detailing. it is completely made from human hair of lost ones post death. it is done with many different techniques. designs. This late 1800s letter box is about 11 in. high with a 6 in. by 6 in. body and a 9 in. by 9 in. base. There is beveled glass in the back and top with flat glass in the Cathedral Style Door. These were usually found in a gentleman’s office or a quality business area. It has a good old finish with light marks and scratches. The door is missing the lock catch(it will stay closed) Has a crack in the glass hidden by the wood trim, and a repair to an age crack in the frame. There are small repairs to the base and a top back corner(see photos) It is in good restored condition, sturdy, and ready for use. I can't find any appraiser who can tell me what instrument this may have been made for. Some say astronomy. Some say marine.In any event it is a beautifully crafted item. Hand tooled leather, with handmade bright pink felt lining. I was told 1800's and Asia.and I think the shocking pink usually says Japan? Fabulous piece- wish I could find out more about it before parting with it. Length is 10 inches, 5 inches at the widest point, and it stands 2 inches high.
