Antique Victorian set of 5 cut glass custard or jelly glasses. Circa mid to late 19th century. Please note the 5 glasses are all of a simliar size and design but not exactly alike- very slight differences in diameter and height but nevertheless all very similar. Originally for custards. But by today's standards possibly better suited to serving a liqueur! Size: height 3.25 inches; top diameter 2.25 inches. Elegant hand made and cut. I can feel a few teeeeeny weeny flea bites around the inside rim of the dish which are not at all noticeable, and some light wear to the painted finish here and there, but otherwise is in very good condition with no other chips or cracks that I can find. Antique Stemmed Liquer Glasses (Set Of 5).
Set of five antique glasses that I think are for liquers- they are tiny. Dainty: 3 1/4" high x 1 1/4" across the rim. They have no damage, but have some air bubbles and flaws that occured when they were made. The glasses have slight fluting all around the bowl& the glass has a faint grey tinge. Lovely, tiny wee things. I think they are really quite old, but unsure as to exactly how old. I have other vintage items listed& can combine postage so please take a peek at those. Its radiance and brilliance are results of the craftsman's ability to produce refractive and reflective properties in the cut glass. We were unable to find a signature; however the workmanship is indicative of a superior cutting house. It is our feeling that it may have been cut by a house comparable to Pairpoint or Monroe. The difference in the sides is the addition in this bowl of strawberry diamond-stars in"X" miters beneath each flashed rosette. Since many cutting houses. As indicated, produced patterns involving strawberry diamond Stars of David such as this, it is difficult to absolutely be sure that one chosen may have also produced this bowl. However. Since the Stars of David are very similar to those produced by Monroe and Pairpoint, and Pairpoint is a also known for its Triple"X" crossed miter motif enhancements. Set of 5 Antique Cranberry & Gold Glasses With Feathery Cut Glass Design
Offered is this set of five small antique glasses. Each glass has a gold band around the rim approx. 1/4" wide and is decorated with a gold-tinted cranberry. Which covers nearly the entire glass except for approx. 1/8" left clear adjacent to the gold rim. A feathery or leafy design shallowly cut into the glass encircles the glass on the outside. Each glass is approx. 3 1/4" tall and 2 1/4" across at the top. I'm not a glass expert and they are unmarked so I am only guessing but these look quite early to me. Mid-1800s, possibly hand-made and hand-decorated? They also look European to me; Bohemian. German, etc? If anyone has any information on these please let me know! There were probably originally at least six. Eight or maybe more in this set but these five are all that have survived. They are not perfectly round. ... moreThe top rim is uneven(when turned upside down they wobble slightly) there are bubbles in the glass, the cranberry and gold trim is not exactly straight, etc. all of which I think were present when made. It feels heavy for size. So the glass may be leaded. The piece has no chips. Cracks, or repairs and measures approx. 5 1/8 inches tall x 2 7/8 inches across the rim. It has been in our family since the 1970s-80s. There is some minor spotting mainly on the inside of the bowl and on the top of the lip. Otherwise the goblet is in excellent condition with silvering that shines like polished chrome. The etched leaf and grape decoration encircles the bowl and is in excellent condition as well. The goblet has its original plug and glass disk seal. 5 ANTIQUE VICTORIAN / EDWARDIAN HAND MADE GREEN GLASS EPERGNE FLUTES IN VGC
This is a group of five which I think is a complete set of green glass Epergne flutes which were hand made around the Victorian era and no later than Edwardian- each one is slightly different but they all have the same approximate dimensions where they insert into the body/ frame of the holder- the insert section has a flat ground base. The narrowest width is 21 mm and it tapers upwards to give a diameter of 27 mm where it meets the ridged neck. They are 10.5 cm tall and around 7.5 cm diameter at the top. T his group of five glass flutes are in very good condition- none appear to have suffered any chips or cracks except one that does have a line as seen in the photos- I think it is a manufacturing flaw. The dome measures 5" inside diameter or app 5-1/4" outside edge to edge across the opening. The glass base has some minor manufacturing imperfections. Two little blobs of extra glass, that are typical of vintage/antique glass, and a few small roughs that do not show when displayed, and are not sharp, not acquired, there are imperfections, and not the machine perfection of modern manufactured glass. This beautiful glass tree is unmarked and I do not know who produced it. I do know that it was from the early 1900's per the estate I got it from. This rare piece of of art glass will light up any room that it is displayed in. I will describe it he best that I can. It is recommended that you view the pictures to see this terrific piece of art work for yourself. Your eyes will be able to tell you more than I can accurately describe. The flowers are made from cobalt blue glass. ... moreThey are detailed to the point of having veins in the pedals. The center of each flower has. I am assuming a fake diamond or diamonds, as the center. The leaves are made of frosted glass and have veins too. Each leaf and flower pedal are attached with stiff wire, that allows you to shape the flower tree to your liking. The stems or branches and trunk of the tree are wrapped in a thin silver foil strand. I am not sure what the foil is wrapped around. The trunk of the tree is in a clear, heavy, solid glass base. In the upper left side of the tree is a birds nest. Again, please view the pictures to see what I am describing for yourself. Over-all this tree is in excellent, pre-owned, condition, especially considering its age. There are some air bubbles in the base. This Glass Flower Tree is 11.5" tall x 10.5" wide x 5" long.
