He was 96 when he passed and he got this desk from his parents estate in Spokane Wa. when they passed. It is made from solid oak and on the ends of the top board you can see that the top is tongue and grooved. Very hard to show in the pictures. I don't know tiger oak from quarter sawn oak so you be the judge. There is some what appears to be grey paint on one corner of the top. please see pictures. Someone drove 2 finish nails about 2' long into the top of one of the legs. One leg has a chip out of it at the bottom about the size of a quarter and another leg has a little grey paint at the bottom of one side. See pictures. I have made no attempt to repair. Clean or restore the finish on this desk, it is in the condition it was given me in. All in all this desk is in great vintage condition given its age. Top of desk 36 1/2" wide x 24 1/2" deep and the desk top is 29 1/2" above the floor. Will ship via Greyhound Bus to a station of your choice for you to pick up. This one is in overall good condition without any rot or worm damage. This magazine/book rack is not new or a reproductions. It been around quite a while. Overall. This unit is 17 1/4" wide, 8 1/4" deep and 30" tall. The newspaper/magazine holder is 16 1/2" X 2" and about 10" deep. The top shelf ... moreis 5 3/8" X 16 11/8" the middle shelf is 5 1/2" X 16 1/8" the bottom shelf is 7 7/8" X 16 1/8" It's about 9" between each shelf. The patina is a dark reddish oak and it's a little darker in real life than the pictures show. There is no rot to the oak or worm damage to the oak. Looking"head-on" you should see there is a burned mark on the right riser near the top. How this was done. I have no idea, but none-the-less, it's there. It's easily a non-factor when a picture or something else is placed there. It will have some blemishes to the finish(light or dark spots or marks) nicks, dings& scratches from normal use over the years, but for it's age and travels it's in overall good condition and ready to set out and use and enjoy.
