Antique Victorian Gesso Wood Gillded Picture Frame Large 18X15 Oval ~ Old Art
Up for bids at auction: Up for bids today is this round antique wooden gilded picture frame. This frame was an old estate find and is solid. And restorable/ usable. It has some cracking from age along with a place on the edge where the gesso has chipped away over the years and a few visible layers of old paint(see pics) and is just as found. It measures 18 inches long, 15 inches wide on the outside; inside the frame is roughly 11 1/2 inches by 8 1/2 inches. On the back side, it is made to take a square piece of glass measuring a little over 12 by 9 inches. The lip for the picture/ glass measures roughly 3/8ths on an inch deep. This is a vintage antique Art Deco tilt swing wood and composite picture photo frame. It is of muted browns and gray tones. Some gild as well. It is 13" tall to top of decoration and is 12.5" across the bottom stand. The glass measures 9.5" T x 7 3/4" W and has a very handsome photo of a sailor which comes with it. Brass is bright with a slight patina. Detailing of the filagree is quite ornate. There are 4 purple, 4 red, and 4 green rhinestones decorating the frame. Antique vintage 1920s 1930s era ART DECO silver & black picture frame w/ cupid
For your consideration is this antique Art Deco silver and black frame with a black and white sketch of a cupid. The frame is metal and the"matting" that one sees that is black and silver is painted. I have not attempted to open the back of the frame not wanting to disturb anything inside. The frame itself measures 6" X 8" and the inside measurement for the photo that would show is 3.5 X 5.5 inches. The frame and the paint are in excellent condition with the exception of an extremely small divet in the upper right hand corner of the frame itslef which I have attempted to photograph in the third photo. 1879 Victorian child print Bagpipe Baby First Birthday Wood Frame antique art
Original Victorian era print in original antique carved wood frame Print is dated 1879. Published by True& Co, Augusta Maine Copyright by True& Co 1879 Baby’s Birthday The dated information and title is at the bottom of the print– This original print was found in this frame. Frame is wooden with tiny carved floral. Or really more like a thin line of leaves in each of the four corners. Wooden frame with green paint. The print is in very good condition because it had been protected under glass. However. The glass pane was broken so I removed it. Print shows a view of Baby’s First Birthday– Infant is in a very fancy quilted lace bunting costume/ or possibly a Christening Gown in a deeply carved ornate tapestry covered chair. Child is holding a toy or something of that nature. A Bagpipe is lying over the top of the chair– Table to the ... moreside with a glass cake stand and glass candy jar– Some type of strange food item is on the cake stand with candies surrounding it– Floral posie/ posy/ floral bouquet to the baby’s left Very interesting complex print– Print goes to the very edges of the frame– all of the dating and titling is at the very base and is almost covered by the frame– please see the gallery photos that you can zoom and enlarge for the titling and close-ups of various sections- they are also a bit clearer- piece is better than my photos) Size: Entire piece measures approx 15 3/4ths by 11 ½ inches. Frame border– approx 1 ½ inch border. Condition: Print is very good. No chips or tears. All dated information. Publisher and title very good at the bottom of the print. Glass that originally covered the print broke, so there is no glass covering the print. Frame is good, but does show wear to the green paint and some chipping to the wood. Large Antique TRAMP ART FRAME This is an original piece of tramp art dating from the 1850-1899 time period. It has up to four levels of carved layering and is a very sturdy item. The frame itself measures approximately 5-3/4 pounds. It has a nice surface color which is a very old salmon over blue. Note that the close up photos appear to have a little more orange color or salmon color due to the camera flash. The o verall size is 28-1/2 inches by 24-1/4 inches. But we are guessing it is from the early 1880's. It looks to be signed with a name and the year 87 on the bottom right corner. It has a gorgeous Victorian carved floral design frame. The base of picture fr ame appears to be made of wood. And not sure what the top layer is made of. either uniquely carved wood or bakelite. It is intricately designed and lovely! The picture frame measures about 14.5 inches across x 17 inch tall. The actual area for framing(from lip to lip of framing area) is 10 1/ 2 inches across x 13 inches from top to bottom. This frame is in good condition for how old it is. Up for sale is this Large VTG/Antique Gold Carved Ribbed Solid Wood picture frame. Frame has an opening size of 20 X 26. Rabbet of 1/2 and measures approx 26 X 32 overall and 2 inches thick. Good condition with only minor marks and scratches. Great patina showing authenticity. Still strong and sturdy. This frame is very Large and very Heavy, hence the elevated shipping charges. I will refund if any cheaper. No reserve and payment is due 48 hrs after end of auction. Additional charges for AK, HI and NO International shipping. VINTAGE GLASS FRAME ANTIQUE PICTURE CRYING BABY FLUE COVER CHAIN ART NOUVEAU OLD
SHIPS WORLDWIDE! The crying baby is just another part of the conversation piece. This glass decorative frame is a 9" diamond shaped glass with a hanging metal chain. Likely used as a flue cover. The piece has wonderful art nouveau style in its colors and shapes of the background surrounding the baby. There are roses. Gold, black and more that add to the piece. A little roughness to the corners, otherwise there are NO chips and NO cracks to the glass. The back is covered in a brown paper. A price tag is on the front that in itself is probably at least more than 30 years old, it has The Dan Cohen on it and some penciled in numbers.
