17th/18th CENTURY EGYPTIAN/ETHIOPIC COPTIC PARCHMENT SCROLL VERY RARE AUTHENTIC
Please be sure to have a look at our other auctions. We have a 9ct gold sovereign holder with an engraved stag. A 1930's filmo projector boxed and a rare edition of treasure island by Robert louis stevenson. plus many more items. This wonderful and very rare authentic Egyptian/Ethiopic Coptic parchment scroll was initially dated from the 1800's but it is suggested it dates back to a much earlier era. This parchment scroll has a neatly executed Coptic text and is written in black and red ink. Colours of the Egyptian/Ethiopic manuscripts were very limited to only black and red ink. Much later other colours were used usually violet. Some manuscripts were written on strips of parchment then tied into a scroll which is exactly like the one in our photographs, there is a drawing at the very top of the scroll that suggests it is religious, ... morei have taken a close up picture for you to see. The text on scrolls usually contained general prayers and also charms to seek aid for a specific ailment or problem. Parchment was very expensive as it was made using animal hide, a long drawn out process was used to make the parchment and it was only used by wealthy and important people for writing important documents or for religious reasons"a bible" This particular scroll used to be the property of a London collector and was acquired in the 1970's The reason why this scroll is unique is because it was made for a person with a specific requirement. The length of the scroll was designed to be the same length as the person who wanted the scroll for prayer or ailment purposes. There has been some questioning with this scroll where some people are assuming it is only worth £30? It was purchased for much much more and I have listed it to provide someone with a wonderful piece of history as these kind of scrolls were indeed one of a kind.please do not mistake this coptic nubian"real animal" parchment scroll for a chinese multi manufactured copy.it is not. ALL OUR ITEMS ARE AUTHENTIC AND ARE CHECKED.THE ITE

ANTIQUE ANCIENT AFRICAN TERRACOTTA KOMA BURIAL FIGURE GHANA c 15th-17th Century
GJPaw Auctions is very pleased to offer a Rare Koma Burial Figure. The figure is an excavated burial piece from a 15th to 17th century tomb in the Komaland area of northern Ghana. These figures were first discovered by locals of Yikpabongo village in the 1960s during the process of excavating mud for building village houses. Soon after their discovery. Archaeologists started professional digs in Yikpabongo and examples of these terracottas started appearing in museums and for sale in European galleries. Interest in these terracottas grew and in 2000 they officially appeared on the ICOM Red List. Many of the terracottas found are broken fragments and only heads, but this piece is a full figure and a figure that appears in"janus form" with two faces. The figure measures a large 7.6 inches tall by 8 inches long by 4 inches wide(19.3 ... morecm by 20.3 cm by 10.1 cm) It is in good excavated condition with the legs being reattached and missing, a feature which is likely original to when the piece was first found. This piece was acquired as part of a large collection from a prominent dealer of African Art and this example was one of the best pieces in the collection. GJPaw Auctions has been in the Art business for over 25 years and is now expanding its operation to eBay. Our goal is to bring the same experience and excitement of collecting that we have been delivering to our walk-in customers for decades to collectors across the Globe. Rare Antique Ceramic Pipe Ottoman Empire Crete Greece Artifacts 17th Century
You are bidding on a antique ceramic pipe. These were found off the coast of Crete by an American soldier free diving on personal time during the 1950's. These were found in the ocean. So they do have what might be Mediterranean corral on it as well as other forms of silt. Based on where they were found, what they are, and the condition we do believe these were probably from the Ottoman Empire after they captured Crete in 1646. These are our opinions and are based on what we have researched and from what we were told when these items were acquired so please use your own judgment before you decide to make a purchase. We were told the longer pipe was also found on the same dive and would have been inserted into the end of the other pipe. They do have condition issues so please see pictures and ask questions if you have any. See pictures ... morefor condition since all individuals have their own opinion. Pictures are also part of the description. Item is sold as is. No international shipping and will only ship to the lower 48 states. If you have questions. Please feel free to ask before you bid. 17th Century Post Medieval Slave Trade Iron Shackles
A set of genuine iron shackles dating to the 17th Century. Slavery is a macabre page of human history in which one human being is claimed as the property of another. To be bought or sold, sentenced to work for the owner as he or she wishes. The children of slaves were also automatically slaves themselves. The first documented evidence of human slavery dates as far back as 1760 B.C. Slavery depended on social stratification. Shortage of labour, and land surplus. In the USA, Massachusetts became the first colony to legalize slavery in 1642. By 1644 slavery was legalized in New York and New Jersey. The slavery laws saw the importation of many Africans to the American subcontinent; on the 1st of January 1808 North America banned the importation and exportation of slaves. The modern era of human rights had begun! These are totally intact shackles. ... moreProbably for attachment to the wrists. It is likely that they were used for the transportation of slaves or convicts. They may also however have been used to detain or restrain criminals. Total Length: 20 inches. Intact. Unrestored. Ferrous patination. Commensurate with age. Provenance: Ex. German private collection. Please note: This is a set of genuine 17th Century shackles. This piece is offered for sale without reserve to promote our extensive inventory of antiquities and ancient coins. Authenticity All items are unconditionally guaranteed to be Authentic as described. For added security we offer a full money-back guarantee if a recognized authority disputes the authenticity of any object sold. Great to display with a jar. Posted with

Heinekin 17th Century Coach Drivers Glass With Wooden Stand
Up for auction I have a hard to find 17th century coach drivers glass with stand. Has the Heinekin logo on it. With the buy it now price you will be ensured this will be properly wrapped. But I do recommend adding insurance. Please let me know if you would like that added prior to paying. Please know I do only ship on Fridays! I've had previous negative comments due to shipping concerns and asked for refunds. So please know I ship Friday and I do ship priority mail!
