Description 14" x 15" Green Dressed by Edward Cucuel Edward Cucuel was born in San Francisco. Where he attended the"School of Design" and for the local newspapers"The Examiner" and"Call" worked. He continued his education in Paris in the 1880s. Continued at the Academie Julian and Academie Colorossi and finally at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts. In Paris. He then launched a successful career as a freelance illustrator for several European magazines, including Le Figaro, L'Illustration, The Illustrated London News and Illustrated Newspaper. In 1899 he moved to Berlin. Where he met his future wife, the artist Clare Lotte Marcard. Edward Cucuel began to concentrate on painting. After meeting in 1907 the impressionist painter Leo Putz. This is a combination of two very interesting objects- a Tom Lovell print of"The Continental Soldier 1 781" and a beautif ul brass coating over metal(I think) frame with the Continental Army insignia at the top. It w ould be a fantastic gift for the collector. Especially with Father's Day coming up. I am sorry. I really don't know anything about antiques, but I will try to describe it. It is 22" high, 14 1/2" across, and 1" deep. With domed glass. The frame seems to be very old. And definitely has wear, but that just adds to its charm. The brass has come off a little in many areas- please look at the pictures. The print is(I think) from 1962. It is in perfect condition. The white spots are from the flash. Inside the domed glass a greenish burlap fabric frames the print. And is actually quite attractive. What ... morelooks like stains on the mat are actually shadows from the flash. The back is a copper colored metal, and it has a dent on one side. It is very heavy(3 pounds, 12 ounces) And I will insure. Thank you for looking.

Beautiful antique or vintage gold gilted wooden frame with early George Inness print This frame is really nice and in fairly good condition for age. I'm not sure how to best describe the design. So am showing lots of pictures. The frame margin is approxl 1 1/2" wide. The frame measures approx. 15" wide and 11" tall. There are a couple of small areas of missing gilt, including upper right corner, but could easily be repaired. The frame has nice old glass. The print in the frame is called"Peace and Plenty" by George Inness. A beautiful picture of a harvest scene. This It is marked on the back of the frame. This vintage print is signed and dated- Copr. S. Colep 3-15-42. It depicts a Victorian woman seated and a man standing behind her holding flowers. It is pretty pastel shades of pink and turquoise with reverse painting in black trim. The frame is decorative off-white wood with a scroll design and measures 6 1/2 across by 8 1/2 high. VINTAGE WOOD FRAME w/ ORIGINAL GILT FINISH– ROPE TWIST CARVING AROUND THE OPENING FOR THE GLASS- circa 1960’s– 1970’s with original gold tone finish- contains an old colored print– an ALICE IN WONDERLAND SCENE– THE MAD HATTER’S TEA PARTY. The print has no discolorations. No stains, no tears. Good coloring on the print. Initial type mark on the lower left side of the print– below Alice’s chair. Original mat on the frame that has an opening just less than 11 inches by 14 ½ inches. Corners of the wood frame are good– no wiggle. A few superficial scratches on the outer edge of the frame– probably from“use” and handling. The frame has glass and a cardboard backing and weighs just less than 7 pounds before any packing materials. The frame measures 17 ½ inches by 21 inches from the outside. With the opening for the glass of about 14 by ... more17 ½ inches. Original paper back covering over the back so difficult to get an exact glass measurement. The original velvet easel back in pretty good original condition, a moiré type mat w/ metal decoration, and a colored antique print of 2 women, probably 1860’s. Raised tooled design on all sides of the frame– the sides have a floral design that matches the floral appliqué on each corner. Antique print which is visible about 7 ¼ inches by just less 9 ¼ inches. The print is taped to the back of the mat– see photo. MEASUREMENTS: from the outside the measurements are 10 inches by 12 inches. With a piece of glass approximately the same size ... morethat slides into the frame from the lower back side. The glass, the mat, and the print are held in place by the easel back. The frame contains a moiré mat with an inset liner of brass tone metal. A few minor discolorations on the metal mat liner– would probably polish out. The metal frame is attracted by a magnet. The mat opening from the front is 7 ¼ inches by just less 9 ¼ inches. VINTAGE OAK FRAME MADE WITH WIDE CURVED OAK MOLDING. Outer measurements of the frame are 10 ½ inches by about 12 ½ inches. With an opening for the glass and print pf 8 inches by 10 inches. The front curved molding is about 1 ½ inch wide. The frame is about 3/4 inch deep. FRAME IS GOOD AND SOLID– NO WIGGLE. No spaces at the corners of the frame. The oak is tight-grained. The frame has the original finish on it. The frame is circa 1960’s– 1970’s. Contains a very sweet contemporary print of an old style scene– a little girl is trying to give a carrot to her dog. Who is not at all interested. The dog is furry– maybe part German Shepherd? The colors and the details of the print are better than my picture. The print is on cardboard. With the mat part of the cardboard– not a separate piece. May not be antique. But still a very charming ... morepicture. Weighs almost 2 pounds before any packing materials. ALL SALES FINAL.
