This auction is for an antique oval brass picture frame. It is dated Pat. May 19. 1908. The frame is 4" 3 3/8" It has some scuffs as seen in the photo. No glass pane, I do not think it ever had one. Metal back just slides out for placement of picture. Someone had added the velvet piece, could easily be removed. Up for auction is an antique gilt brass/ bronze Neoclassical style photo frame which will hold a 5 7/8" by 4" photo. Condition is good with normal age related surface wear/ tarnish and the glass has no cracks or chips. All I have really noticed is that a 6/8" piece of molding is missing at the bottom of the frame. A rope rim around the photo area and rope style feet. It measures about 3 1/8" tall and 2 3/8" wide. The photo space is about 2 1/4" by 1 3/4" The metal of frame looks brass. It has original metal stand. The backing is tin type metal. The frame originally has four cut tabs to hold the backing, two of them missing, the remaining two still can hold the backing nicely. I leave them un-fold for you to put in photo. The condition is great with all stones intact. Few of clear stones a bit darken from ages, but no chips. Some light patina on metal. This auction is for a Beautiful Matching Pair Antique Victorian Brass Fancy Picture Frame with the easel stand and are actually marked PAT APR 24-94. They are both marked PAT APR 24-94 on the back of the frames very clearly with a matching number(possibly style number) near the patent markings. The marks are engraved on the backside of the frame. They are in good shape with some signs of age and also still have the glass with the frame. The edges of the glass are rough cut. The frames have a lovely. Leafy design. These are large frames and has the original patina in good condition and measures approximately 9" across and 12" tall. Each weighs almost 2 pounds. They would make a nice addition to a collection or would also make a lovely touch to any home on any Vanity or Dresser. Very fancy with deep flower and scroll work. Beautiful old brass frame with lots of glass jewels. All the jewels are there. This measures 9 by 7 inches. The front shows a very ornate pattern with glass jewels that would polish up if desired. The back shows four small tabs at each corner for hold the backing in place. Also shows where a loop for hanging use to be. The loop is missing- but could be replaced. No glass. The only issue I see is that there is some green oxidation on the front- especially at the upper left corner. Otherwise a beautiful piece to add to your home decor. Old frame. Has some dark areas of patina from normal age and use. I cleaned it a little with soap and soft brush but dark areas. the gold gilding. Very ornate pierced detail filigree with five petal flowers set on each of the curved"ruffles" The previous owner told me this was her Mom's and it originally had matching perfume bottles so this was from a set. I only have the frame. Dark burgundy velvety fabric on the back and it can either stand or be hung on a wall as it has two rings for attaching a picture wire. 12-1/4" high. 10" across the outer measurement, and the photograph size would be for a standard 8" by 10" I tried to slip the back board in with some white tissue paper behind the glass to show the frame best but the paper slid up because it was too thick.
