Ornate Antique Victorian Carved Oak Wood Picture Frame
The outer dimensions of this antique frame are approx. 21 3/4" x 25 3/4" The inside dimensions. What size print will fit, are approx. 14 1/2" x 18 1/2" of course, you could also use a mat) The ornate borders are wood, most of the ones you find have a plaster or gesso that is molded to shape. I would assume that this was not an inexpensive frame in it's day. It is in super condition, with only very slight blemishes- VERY slight. Thanks for viewing this auction.

We have for sale a Pair of Matching Antique Vintage Victorian Deep Walnut Carved Gold Gilt Picture Frames. First of all they are 17 ¾ inches by 15 ¾ inches(outside) 9 ¾ inches by 7 ¾ inches(image area) They are in very nice condition, but not perfect. They do have some rubs, minor nicks, and some discoloration in the gold areas. These were purchased at an estate sale. They do each have glass in them, with a wood backing, ready for you to add your favorite photo or painting. The outside frame itself is 4 inches in width and 3 ¾ inches thick. It is actually 3 frames together, the inner frame being the gold gilt. You have a nice 1 ½ inch black carved portion, setting off the two gold frames. Antique picture frame from the late Victorian era(1900-1910) The frame has carved edges with a gold inner liner. Also. The decorative rope pattern next to the liner is carved wood, not gesso. The frame is made of a hardwood, probably mahogany. The frame fits an approx 9 1/4 x 11 1/4 inch print or painting. Its exterior dimensions are approx 12 1/2 x 14 1/2 inches and it is 1 1/8 inches high. The frame has been restored, including refinishing of the mahogany and is in very good condition. It still has a few dings, etc as typically seen on frames of this age. It is being shipped without glass.

This is an outstanding frame and will compliment a fine piece of art or an antique porcelain plaque of the proper dimensions. It is in very good condition for its age with normal signs of wear. Very minimal losses at the back edges and corners and two nails exposed on the outside edge where the gesso popped off of them. Along the interior of the site edge there is a 2 3/8" long loss to the gesso that can be restored if you like. Though it does not in my opinion detract from the frame and a 1/4" loss to the gesso on the interior front corner of the bottom left. Please view all of the photographs. The base measures 2 1/2" x 10 1/4" The felt on the base is well-worn. Overall height is 10" Upper left corner is not tight. Not flimsy. But not pulled together. Overall very sturdy. Swivels easily, but not loose and flimsy. The finish has golden highlights. Some of the finished has rubbed nearly off- check the lower corners. Some scratches. The back is almost unfinished. Antique Arts& Crafts era picture frame doesn't have a single nail in it! It is all interlocked together. Will accommodate anything 8.5 x 11 inches. Total size of frame is approximately 14 x 17.5 inches. There are a few issues concerning a couple of the points on the outside pieces. Judging by the patina of the wood where they had broken off I'd say the oops happened a very long time ago. It in no way deters from the beauty of this frame. I acquired this at sale of the estate. It was said to be late 19th century. Certainly no later than 1910. We are unsure of the age of the glass. The viewing surface has all the oxidation wear of a vintage old glass mirror. The back of the mirror is pristine. We are unsure if this is because this mirror hung undisturbed for a generation in the same spot or if the glass was replaced. The star of this sale is of course the carved wooden frame. I opened up the framing and saw a interesting antique stock share holder paper backing the picture. It has a date but couldn't find the year on it, perhaps it has been cut off. The frame is in very good condition for age, it does have some minor chips on top of roses' petals, they are unnoticeable. I believe this is a late 19th century piece, possibly was from France. The backing thin oval shaped wood board is solid hard wood thin cut. The old hanging wire is rusty, I put a new one. The frame is 22-1/2"H x 13-3/4"W x1-3/4"Thickness. ANTIQUE Victorian Aesthetic CARVED Black Lacquer Ebony Picture Frame 1800's WOW
This is an Antique Picture Frame. It dates from the mid 1800's and measures 12 3/16ths by 14 3/16ths inches. It is black lacquer over wood with gold gilt. This is frame in frame construction. One wood frame inside another. The outer frames black lacquer is cut or carved to reveal the chalk or plaster underneath that is over the wood. Shown in my photos is a corner view of the construction and a view of each corners hand cut decoration. It has a cheezy 1960's Robert Wood copy print in it, I'm sure you can do better than that! Good condition for its years, but not without minor flaws.

Don't pass this one up! A gorgeous. Ornate picture frame from the Victorian era, in fantastic condition. Beautifully made, this wood frame has very elaborate carved flowers and scrolls decorating the corners and center parts of the frame. There are a few very small, minor losses to the frame and I have taken photos of those. This is a solid frame and is in excellent condition for its' age. The frame will fit a work of art that is 16 x 20. The overall size of the frame is 20 x 24. The reverse side of the frame has an old cotton cord still attached and has some old pieces of backing paper on the edges. Frame does not have any glass or backing board. There is a shipping/handling/packaging fee that is included in the shipping calculator, and it is usually 50 cents to $1.00. I pack my items very well and I do not skimp on packaging materials. I use plenty of bubble wrap if needed and plenty of shipping peanuts. I generally ship within 1 day of receiving payment. Sometimes the same day. PLEASE make sure you ask questions. Do your own research if necessary, and fully understand what you are bidding on BEFORE BIDDING. You may have“buyer's remorse” before you even get an item in the mail.
