Stunning flame mahogany veneers grace the surfaces of this ... morepiece and are decorated with intricate contrasting inlay. An inlay medallion of a lamp has been placed atop the swivelling mirror. Two smaller locking drawers are aligned over four larged drawers. Providing ample storage space. All the drawers are made with high quality dovetail construction. The entire piece is raised off of the ground by short tapered square legs sitting on brass and wood casters. Overall. This piece is in very good condition. There are some drip marks along the top edge of the mirror(from glue or wood finish, see picture) but no cracks or other damage. The wood has some wear associated with age, including chips and minor breakage to the veneers or inlay. See pictures. There is also a chip out of the left side finial and the right top drawer is missing its lock. The wood is cracked around the lock hole on the inside of the drawer. The wheels of the casters do no turn easily and probably need to be oiled. No other breaks or repairs. The dresser stands 70 1/4" tall and is 40" wide and 21" deep. The mirror has maximum dimensions of 33" X 19" We do have other pieces that match this one available. Please check our other listings if you are interested. This trunk measures approximately 22" ... morelong X 14" wide X 15 1/2" high and it has two hinges in back that hold the lid securely to the base. There used to be sturdy leather handles on each side of the trunk but they are no longer intact, these can be purchased inexpensively on-line and they're fairly easy to replace. The corner protectors and hardware appear to be brass plated steel. There are two hasp type closures, one on each side of the lock and the lock needs to be bent just a little to close it securely. We tried the key and the locking mechanism seems to work properly but we didn't want to damage anything so it will arrive open with the key tucked in an envelope safely inside. The inside of the trunk is wood and there should be wood beneath the black material covering the outside(it is non-magnetic and we don't think it's metal) This little trunk is in very good condition and once it's restored it should be a beauty- perfect for your antique doll collection or as a gift for a very special grandchild.
