Welcome to Papa& Nana Treasures* Vintage/ Antique gold gilt frame with etched mirror and a half circle at the top. This is a stunning mirror with a urn. Flower pot at the top and also etched in the mirror. The top of this frame is the urn and it has been repaired. When we purchased this my husband couldn't believe the bad attempt to repair it so my husband took it apart and repaired it the right way. So from the front it's hard to tell it was ever broken off. This is about 37 1/2" tall and 19 1/2" wide(22" at the widest point) but the actual inside measurement would be 27 1/2" x 17 1/2" Both measurments are from the top of the arch to the bottom. Vintage Kittinger Neoclassical Gold Gilt Carved Wood and Wire Mirror
A knowledgable appraiser has identified this mirror as by Kittinger Furniture Company. I have not removed any of the old paper on the back to look for further proof. Neoclassical mirror. Gold gilt carved wood and wire. The mirror is 49" tall top to bottom and 25" wide. The glass part of the mirror itself is approx 27" long. A couple of small wood cracks which would be typical. But I have seen several of these mirrors over the years and I think this might be as good as it gets for its age or any age. Really stunning. I am reluctant to pack and ship this mirror, so local pick up only. Mirror is located within 4 miles of Ohare Airport. Description This handsome antique cast iron frame stands 10 1/2" tall and is 10 3/4" wide. It has a folding stand on the back which allows it to stand freely. The design of the frame is unique and features a French motif. All around the piece are fleur-de-lis. The top has plumes and a helmet. And the feet have griffin like creatures holding shields with a fleur-de-lis. The frame has a mirror; it is not original to the frame but looks good. It could also hold an oval picture 8" long, 6" wide. The frame is in very ice condition with no breaks. No repairs and no losses. The back stand is original and in fine condition. The old glass is the original and has a little"foxing" to the reflective silver backing. Something that occurs to old mirror plates but just adds to the charm, please see images. The carved wood frame with applied ornament in bronze and gesso, burnished and gold leaf decoration. Up for bid is an Antique Oak. Drop Front Desk/ Book Case/ Vintage Secretary. It has a flat glass door on the left side with 4 adjustable shelves inside, not counting the bottom/5th shelf. The right side has a 10 1/2 X 11 1/2 Mirror on top, then a drop front desk with 6 small pigeon hole shelves& 1 small drawer. Under drop front there is 1 pull out drawer& under that there is large door with 1 more shelf plus the bottom which totals 2 shelves. This Secretary stands 67" tall, measures 39" across the front and 14" deep from the front to the back. It's in very good vintage condition for it's age& will hold a great deal of items. The Back has written in black"J D Westcott Newport NJ Troley(Trolley is misspelled) This item was likely delivered by Trolley back in the early 1900's" This Beautiful Antique ... moreOak Secretary/Desk is in Very Good Vintage Condition for it's 75-100+ year age. The Mirror has age stains/spots& is slightly loose in the framing. The original wheels on the bottom are in very good condition& still work well. The Shelves are sturdy& Most of the screws& the metal brackets that hold the shelving are modern. The 4 lock/key holes& some of the other hardware are original to my knowledge. But I have not found the correct key for the locks. I believe the Glass Door still has the original Glass. The Drop Down door for the desk is divided into 2 sections with a slight opening in between the top& bottom decorated with fancy wood applique designs. My Mother had this desk refinished in the 1960's which is why it's in such good looking condition today. It's been well cared for over the years.
