The library and its furnishings were built and created in 1959-1960. The interior also featured Florence Knoll chairs and tables. This Mid Century. Architecturally inspired sofa is extremely unusual in that it has a"pull-out" feature that creates a deeper seating area or daybed for one. Seldom seen. We spoke with the librarian at the location, who had been there for 30+ years, and were told that the chairs and sofa had been recovered in the late 1970's. It measures 76" long, 28" high, seat is 30" deep and 36" when extended. The pull out feature works smoothly. The seat cushion is not attached. It has a square tubular brushed chrome and steel frame and legs and light blue tweed fabric. There is a frayed area on the front bottom right corner of the bottom platform and there is some minor discoloration but it has not been steamed cleaned. Wrinkling Very good overall condition, This antique style red buttoned leather Chesterfield sofa was crafted in England in the1980′s. Today the red leather remains as beautiful as ever. With a rich complexion that should complement any setting. The classic buttoned leather design is a very attractive, simple yet elegant style that has distinguished tasteful offices, lounges, and sitting rooms for centuries. All of the cushions remain deep and plush, offering supreme comfort, while the traditional mahogany bun feet remain as sturdy as ever. The leather itself remains in very good condition, with only a few scuffs on the armrests. The leather has also developed some minor wrinkling, which is a natural and inevitable part of the aging process. The seat area measures 49″ wide x 29″ deep and comfortably accommodates three people. This stunning sofa would make a fine addition to any furniture collection! This stunning leather sofa was crafted in England between 1980 and 1990. The sides look great.
