The set consists of: A massive 3 piece breakfront; A double pedestal oval dining table with 3 skirted leaves stored in their original rack; A matched set of 6 side chairs with wrapped upholstered seats with gilt highlights; A 2 door. With 6 drawers server/ credenza Being approximately 70 + years old. There are some extremely minor marks of light wear, expected to be found on an older set of used, vintage furniture. Overall, the condition, in our opinion, is EXCELLENT! The tops are clean& the finish is original. The upholstery on the chairs is good, with very few marks or wear. The entire set is composed of solid woods& burl European walnut matched veneers. The finish is original& the case pieces are accented by painted black line inlays on the edges. It is stamped no less than 12 times with an Egyptian hallmark from the early 20th century(see photos) It stands on a base of five leaves. And the body is decorated with flowers and leaves. The screw-top spout is fitted at the lower end with three branches, each pierced with leaves and mounted with a dove. The top of the spout is also mounted with another dove. Each dove is stamped with a maker's mark, the spout is stamped twice, each of the three leaves of the spout are stamped near the bottom, and the body is stamped near the top, base, and underneath the base(the photos show some of the stamps, with a close-up of the clearest one) The repeated stamping indicate the pride and quality ... moreof this piece. The highest valuation ever presented during an Antiques Roadshow session occurred last weekend in Raleigh, NC. A four piece set of Chinese jade, from the 18th century, was valued between $700k and $1.07 million. The previous highest record was a 2008 valuation of $500,000 for a Clyfford Still abstract painting. The carved celadon jade collection included a large bowl crafted for the Chinese emperor. The bowl was identified by markings which translated as"By Imperial Order. The owner of the jade inherited them from her father. Who purchased them in China during the 1930's and 40's. The Raleigh event also shattered another record.According to an Associated Press report. Antiques Roadshow received over 34000 ticket requests, setting another record as the highest level previously requested had been 29,000 requests. Over 5,000 people actually attended the event, bringing everything from furniture to art to arrowheads to jewelery. Very old piece that came out of a Hollywood Estate. There are some condition issues one of the bamboo handles has split/broken(there are three bamboo on each side that are the handles. One of these is cracked) some of the wood piping is coming of and needs to be secured.There is normal wear and tear on an item of this age some of the wood has cracked 9due to shrinking and expansion) The painting on it is in great detail but is dark would need to be restored. all that said this piece is a piece of history and depicts traditional chinese illustrations. On the top there are many figures bride and groom a child kneeling at what looks to be an alter a priest and others. The sides are also painted in great detail with many different images. Here we have a wonderful antique Abram Cox Pot belly cook stove in good vintage used condition. Black and gold trim. Has a number 12. On it. The stove measures about 24 inches tall, by 18 3/4 inches by 20 1/2 inches at the top by 18 inches by 20 inches at the base. Has two areas on top for cooking Missing one grate of two. Has door below for cleaning out ash after the wood or coal is gone. This is a great little stove for a cabin, for heat or to cook on for that great vintage cabin feel. Has a hole on top in back for a vent pipe. Needs to be checked out for safety before you use it. Was only used recently for a decorative piece in our home. Has a little vent flue that slides back and forth for air circulation. Has a wonderful eagle picture on the front of the stove. Looks pretty much original as far as I can tell but I am no expert on antique ... morestoves. The stove may need a part that is missing that I am not aware of.
