Impressive solid Oak Dining Set consisting of a large Table with six(6) Chairs. A Buffet, and a Court Cupboard, circa 1940. We are pleased to present this vintage Dining Set for your consideration. Dating to the 1930 to 1950 time period. This American set is constructed of solid Oak with gorgeous Burl Walnut decorative veneers. It has an English Jacobean look with a Spanish Revival or Moorish flair, and is sure to attract attention and garner compliments. Hardware is original, with vintage KBC( Keeler Brass Company) drawer pulls. The set consists of the following: Dining Table. Two individual pull-out leaves give this Table enormous flexibility. With both leaves stowed. The Table measures 66 inches in length. With one leave out, the Table extends to 84 inches in length. With both leaves, the Table becomes a spacious 102 inches in length. ... moreIt is 38 inches wide and 30-3/4 inches in height. The Table has minimal age appropriate wear with no damage or significant problems. We rate the overall condition as very good to excellent(see pictures) Six(6) Chairs. The top of each Chair has an unusual decorative applied trim piece made of a vintage resin material(see picture#8) We at first thought it was made of wood. But a few spots are worn smooth revealing the true material. All Chairs are impressively ornate, with extensive carved and turned wood. The fabric covering on each is in good shape. We rate their overall condition as very good. Court Cupboard. A tall piece. It measures 65 inches high, 43 inches wide, and is 18-1/2 inches deep. It provides two spacious enclosed cupboards, each with a single shelf, separated by a drawer in the middle. Set of one Table. Six Chairs and one Sideboard Table Dimenion: 38"W x 62" L x 30" H with the leaves underneath. The total length with the two leaves extended is 86" Sideboard Dimenion: 20" W x 62" L x 35" H. There are five chairs and one armchairs and the upholstery is relatively new. The chairs are in great shape. The table appears to be solid oak and is in excellent overall condition. On top of sideboard. The left side on the back has.25" x 1.50" of the veneer that is missing and shows some very minor wear overall. Please see the last two photos. The age is unknown but believe it is not a new set. Lots of beautiful carving on this heavy. Solid oak, Jacobean style, dining room set! The trestle table has ornately carved stretchers and legs. The chairs have carved legs, stretchers and unusually-shaped backs and seat fronts. The trestle ends slide out from under the table top to take the table from 66 inches to 108 inches. It is 42 inches wide and 30 inches high. The chairs have a 43 inch tall back. Everything has been refinished to a light stain-almost a birch color. You are looking at a stunning. Rare antique solid oak with Burl Walnut Jacobean refectory/dining table and chairs. The table is pre 1879 and is from England. It has Barley twist legs and self-enclosed leaves/extenders. It is in excellent condition. The chairs have only been recovered. But the finish is original to our knowledge(we've owned these pieces for over 40 years) Extending boards are in perfect working order. The table measures 40" wide and just under 64" long. Jacobean Style 1940's- 1950's Wooden Antique Dining Set & Matching Cabinet
This Dining Set has been in my family for well over 40 plus years. I have searched the internet and have never been able to find another on like it. This dining table is incredibly heavy. Seats 8, 2 of which are armed chairs. The engraving on this table is spectacular and it is possible it predates the early 1900's but my best guess would be approximately 1940's- 1950's. I have done my best to show its imperfections. It could use some TLC and refinishing, especially where my dog from years ago had a table leg fetish as shows in the pixs. This table can be valued far more than I have it listed for. Like I mentioned, I have never been able to find one of the same style before. I have revised this for the last time to now include the matching Cabinet/Hutch with 4 total drawers and 3 sectioned areas inside. My Grandfather had picked this up from an Estate Sale during his time as an Enlisted Man after he joined the US Navy which was after a 14 month stretch as a Bataan Death March POW. This is simply a beautiful. Ornate, hand carved oak dining table made in the Jacobean/Elizabethan era style. It comes complete with 6 matching chairs, one of which is a captain's chair. It has been extremely well cared for, after all it's over a hundred years old! The bottom of the table top has been painted black, so i cannot find any markings that might indicate who made it, or the exact year. It has been reenforced with some sturdier brackets underneith. It's in fantastic shape. Two of the chairs are not featured in the pictures, but are included. The seats will need to be recovered as the threading is coming apart, but all the oak is solid and beautiful. My Mother-in-law bought this set from her sister some years ago and she does not have room for it after downsizing her home. Late 19th century Jacobean revival style oak dining room set, finely carved
There is an interesting history to this furniture. We"inherited" it over 20 years ago when we purchased the home of its owner who had inherited it from his aunt. She had been a member of early Hollywood society. According to the written history he provided us. Charlie Chaplain, Mario Lanza, Tyrone Power, and possibly John Wayne, among others, had been dinner guests. She had originally bought it at a Sotheby's auction in the 1920's for her New York penthouse before she moved to Beverly Hills. We have taken great care with it, and it is in excellent condition. The 12 piece solid oak set was beautifully crafted by Mandel Bros. Fine Furniture. Chicago, est. 1855. The chairs are cane bottom with spiral turned legs and ivory silk pillows. There is also a rack to hold the leaves to the table. The table has 6 leaves and expands ... morefrom 54" to 120. The top has a 2" carved border. And the corners are cut at a 45 degree angle. There are 7 spiral, turned legs connected by highly decorative carved panels. There are 6 side chairs and two armed chairs. The china cabinet has a fold down locked front containing two drawers. It has glass shelves with a mirrored back. The large buffet is 84" long with 3 drawers and a lower display shelf. Same intricate carving. The smaller buffet is 48" long with two drawers and a lower display shelf. We use it as an entry table with mirror above. The buyer will be responsible for having someone pick up the furniture from our home in Sacramento. California. I am not a professional dealer but will do whatever I can to help make the transition as smooth as possible. This is a great antique piece. In very good condition and extremely sturdy. It measures 60" long by 42" wide and 30" high. It was made sometime in the mid-century, with nicely carved walnut legs. The walnut wood is in great condition. The top has no peeling. Cracking, spots or stains. The table features a"Fordy Four" slide from the Watertown Slide Company in Wisconsin. From an early. New York estate, Probably the original owners since new. Dates to the 1920s or so. Original finish, sound, intact and nice. No readily visible maker's mark but must be marked somewhere on one of the pieces. I will look again when I return to the estate. Set includes the extension table with pull out leaves. Up for is a beautiful Jacobean oak dining room table. 6 chairs, and a buffet. There are 5 chairs and 1 arm chair. The table has leaves at each end that slide out from under the top. The whole set was refinished at some point and the chairs professionally recovered. There are some small issues with the table top. there is a dark stained area and small area in a corner where the veneer delaminated prior to the refinishing. This solid mahogany Jacobean style antique table and chairs have been in our family since 1970. Prior to our purchase the wealthy owners purchased it new sometime between 1890- 1930. It was refinished in the 1970s but requires repair work. It is a great project for that person that loves antiques and beautiful wood furniture. The table has six large carved legs and the edge of the table top is carved as well. The six chairs have the same carved legs to match. The chairs are able to be recovered with fabric. Currently they are covered in upholstery fabric that is hunter green with tan horses. Because our dining room is sunny the fabric has faded.
