It looks very nice. If you look closely for flaws. You'll see the following issues. See the pictures. The top cabinet has a few chips to the edge of the vaneer on the left side where it comes in contact with the base cabinet. The finish on the left and right sides has some wear. Kind of like fading or weathering down toward the bottom. This is more visible in bright light. The base cabinet has several scratches on top and one good scrape due to the top cabinet being pushed around when put on top or adjusted over the years. The majority(including the scrape) is hidden by the top cabinet and what emerges out from under the top cabinet faded quite a bit when I applied Old English polish. Check out the pictures. The right hand cabinet door was pulled off and reattached at some point. This can be seen if you're looking for it(see my picture) The door looks fine. Beautiful Set of four Chairs. They're antique from early 1900's. I've had these appraised years ago and was told by the appraiser that they were in Baroque style around 1910 or so. They're stuffed with horse hair. The upholstered was done I believe sometimes in the 60's. I have had them cleaned is why at the bottom it shows water stains. One chair as some marks from being scratched on the back spindle. This could be repaired. They're a quite sturdy set. Nice to find four together like this. The fabric does show some stains but overall they're great and can be used as is or easily recovered. I believe the wood is walnut. I cannot remember exactly. They're solid. Very comfortable. Antique Walnut Round Table Dining Set Gothic Chairs 1900s Post-Victorian Era This set is from the 1900-1910 and is a wonderful piece from the time. The round table is a split-pedestal extension and all five legs sit on wheels. Included are 4 original Wishbone chairs with a sort of Chippendale look. The set is American Walnut. And can be verified by a beam on the bottom of the table stamped"Walnut" as seen in the pictures. Something special I find with this table, is a lock mechanism that places the set right at the start of the 20th century and was very popular then, but isn't found very often with the original furniture. On the handle, the mechanism reads, Perfection Table Lock Pat.Nov.1.04" Condition on the set is fair with visible surface scratches on chairs and table. Some of the chairs have also been repaired on the ... morebottom and have chips and breaks. The table itself looks like it has held up nicely except it has lost one of the wheels. All four have a captivating look so characteristic of the Queen Anne style. This set was originally made in England around the year 1940. The wood used is walnut which has a very nicely developed patina. Walnut makes a great wood as it has lighter and darker tones allowing these chairs to fit with a variety of dining table styles ... moreand wood types. The back and legs are crafted from the same piece of wood making the chairs extremely sturdy. Adding to this sturdiness are the I shaped stretchers connecting the legs. These are nicely turned and provide lasting support to the legs. The stretcher is probably why this set remains so sturdy after all this time. The swooping design of the front cabriole legs and pad feet support the seat with elegance. The seat cushions are upholstered in fabric with floral patterns that would work well in most dining rooms making it easily assimilated into many different settings. The cushions may be removed by a gentle push from the bottom for easy cleaning or recovering. The seat measures 18.5″ from the floor. These are great looking chairs ready for a great looking home! There are 12 restored chairs that go along with the set and beautiful buffet and China cabinet. The lacquer finish on the edge of the table is cracked in a few places due to sunlight and can easily be sanded out and touched up. Beautiful set(c1880) recently purchased at auction. Includes 5 side chairs and one captain's chair. The captain's chair varies slightly from the side chairs(see photo 1) All chairs are walnut with hand carved/notched details on the backs and"arm" supports. All chairs feature burled walnut on the upper backs. The captain's chair features hand notched pattern on the burl wood. The chairs feature hand caned backs and seats. All chairs are in good condition with minor evidence of age and they have not been restored. One chair has an old. Small repair at the arm, but it is good and is not distracting. The chairs are beautiful and very interesting in appearance. The cane is good and the chairs are sturdy.
