I bought the chairs new 5 years ago, because I wanted well made sturdy chairs for my family and company. The table is in perfect condition except for one 3' inch dent. As you can see by the picture. This amazing table has four original leaves which can be added or removed as required by a special double action winding mechanism which bears the brass label of Joseph Fitter. Birmingham. The table sits on its finely turned and reeded legs which terminate in their original brass and brown porcelain castors. This set includes six MAHOGANY chairs. Two of them are arm chairs. The beautiful china cabinet measures 81" x 48 x 16 deep. The buffet measures 65" x 35 x 21" deep, the server measures 40" x 32 x 19 deep. The solid MAHOGANY table measures 61" x 40" without the leaf. There is one 12" leaf that is self storing under the table, and the table expands to accomodate 3- 4 more leaves if you want to have them made. Two of the chairs had been repaired before I purchased the set. There is normal wear and dings for a set this age, but overall the wood grain is very beautiful and it is a stunning set. for auction is one of the finest empire mahogany dining tables i have owned in this price range. i have had horner and others that were in excess of 10-14.000, but none any better built or better quality. this is a great 54 inch split pedestal table with a great turned center leg suppot. it has three 14 inch leaves which have the same grain, color, and patina as the top. leaves installed makes this an eight foot table. if the leaf runner stops were removed, i expect it would open to 12 feet. the table is presented in original finish, there is some crazing to the finish but i would never refinish it. the table is solid mahogany with no veneers, has great grain and a fantastic pedestal which is heavily carved and contoured. the feet are massive claw feet which are carved all the way up the knee to the pedestal. i sold this table to a fella ... moremaybe 3 or 4 years ago and he needed some money, so i have him his money back. with shipping charges i have almost as much in the table as i am starting it for. i am taking it apart to put in storage as i have no room in my house for it. i have like 3o pictures so if you want to see anything else hopefully i have a picture of it, if not i can get one. the table may be picked up at my home or shipped at buyer's expense. good luck. i just spent several hours cleaning the dirt and grim out of the carvings etc. i used new life and liquid gold, so if it looks a bit shinny here and there i probably didn't get all the cleaner wiped away. any spots or usual looking objects in any of the pictures if from a dirty camera. i can't seem to get some of the junk off the lens.

Six Side Chairs; Early 20th Century Item# 130108WNB12 This is a fine set of Eight Chippendale Style Dining Chairs crafted of solid Mahogany. Probably during the end of the 19th century or the first years of the 20th Century. The precision and pride in the chairs is clear, each exhibiting a great weight from the unnecessarily thick primary and secondary woods. The crest rails are wonderfully carved with a centermost acanthus motif that flows directly into the somewhat gothic formation of the pierced splat back. The ears of the crest rail curl back with thick reeding, making a smooth transition into the molding of the stiles and consistent with the molding of the straight legs. The seats are deeply and comfortably stuffed under a yellow damask that, in our opinion, ... moreremains in excellent condition with only minor flaws- we would personally not change the upholstery, but that is a matter of personal taste. The back legs are backswept, giving the side profile a fine consistent curve while lending incredible strength and stability to the form. The four legs are locked in place with a box-stretcher that tenons directly into each leg. For anyone passionate about this style looking for a very fine set of chairs to be actively used in a formal dining room. These are a wonderful find indeed. Crisply carved and finished in a cognac brown mahogany, the finish having developed a nice light patina over the many decades, they are visually just stunning to look upon. The set consists of his and her arm chairs and four side chairs. They are upholstered all the way around, and the seats are not slip seats but are fully upholstered. The pink brocade upholstery is in good condition and goes nicely with the dark reddish brown stain finish. The seats scoop down in the middle like they're supposed, and you really don't have to do anything with these chairs except put them in your home and sit down in them! They're all tight and sturdy, the finish is great, and they have carved clamshells across the back, center splats, beautiful flared back legs, country style carved front legs, and scrolled arms on the arm chairs. This double pedestal table dates to 1960's England. It is made of mahogany with satinwood string inlay and rests on two pedestals with brass feet and casters. Two additional leaves come with the table.
