With 6 drawers server/ credenza Being approximately 70 + years old. There are some extremely minor marks of light wear, expected to be found on an older set of used, vintage furniture. Overall, the condition, in our opinion, is EXCELLENT! The tops are clean& the finish is original. The upholstery on the chairs is good, with very few marks or wear. The entire set is composed of solid woods& burl European walnut matched veneers. The finish is original& the case pieces are accented by painted black line inlays on the edges. Which create a wonderful, dark contrast to the richness& depth of color of the medium to light colored European walnut veneers. The style of the entire suite is in the form of English Regency, and the finish is reminiscent of German Beidemeier furniture. The original hardware is solid brass. We bought this at Houston's exclusive Kuehnerts Mortons Auction gallery many years ago for around 1.000 USD. Very heavy carved solid oak no veneer. Is is oval standing 28.5 inches tall, by 45 inches by 38 inches oval. Seats 4-5 comfortably and not too big or too small. We like it for its size and carved features. Would be excellent with a glass top, Has some scuffs as shown given its 100 year age. This is a very heavy piece and will require removing the top for transportation. Two people to lift top. You are considering an antique table/workbench. I tried to take decent pictures so you could judge it for yourself. It shows a ton of wear. I wedged in a piece of rough cut lumber to repair a hole left when piece of equipment was removed. I would call it a rustic repair. I also gave it a light sand and seal. There is also a spot where the is wear deep into the wood. But not all the way through. The table is about 90 1/4" long X 26 3/4" wide X 31 1/2" tall. I will no ship this piece due to its size. His Mother used to eat dinner on this table every night when she was growing up in the 30s and 40s(she is in her mid-seventies now) The bottom has a plate that says 1932. This set is from the early 1900's. It was purchased by the current owner in the early 1960's. There is a picture. Which will be included of the original owner) The furniture pieces are a breakfront. Which is dust proof that stands 80" tall(6' 8" It is 54" long and 13" by 11 1/2" on the top and the bottom measures 14 1/2" by 11 1/2" As you can see by the pictures. The first drawer doubles as a writing desk that can be locked. Although there are no keys available. The drawers are dovetailed. The drawer pulls are brass with a fruit theme. All pulls are in very good antique condition. The drawer pulls are the same on the china ... morecloset& the buffet. There is a bit of fading on the right side of the bottom compartments. The owner said that just a bit of lemon oil helps them darken up. The glass on the doors is laid into the wood cut outs. This item weighes about 300 pounds per the owner. The buffet measures 62 1/2" long. It is 36" tall and the depth. On the sides 18" deep in the center 18" deep. The 2 side drawers are lined and segmented for your silver. There is a piece of glass. That was made to sit on the top of this lovely item. This item was also fashioned to be dust proof. Now to the table. It is 66 1/4" long. Without the leaves& 44 1/4" wide and stands 2' 6" Including the depth of the glass. The table is in very good pre-owned condition. There is a piece of cut glass to fit on top. Chairs are high back and have a bending motion for comfort. They are supported by nicely designed thick strong legs and their weight is very heavy. This Berkey& Gay dining set consists of a 3-leaf table. 8 chairs, 1 china hutch, 1 buffet and 1 sideboard. It is made of walnut, with many sections being bookmatched figured walnut- absolutely beautiful. All pieces are matching, and feature the metal medallion used in Berkey& Gay's furniture from the 1920's-1940's. Our best guess is that these pieces were made in the 20's. They're in excellent condition for this vintage. You'll see some very slight damage, shown in the last 4 photos. The set consists of a 54-inch round table with four outside cabriole Chippendale Queen Anne pad foot legs. And a middle leg for style and sturdiness, and a set of five matching side chairs and one armchair, all stained in a very dark walnut stain finish. The table top has been re-sprayed to bring out the beautiful grains used, and to remove all the nicks and dings so it is now all set to go in your home. It is a perfect match to the set of six chairs, which are also finished in a dark walnut stain and appear to be made of birch or a similar wood.
