Born in Kansas in 1923. Baughman was raised in Long Beach, California. At age 13 he was enlisted by his parents to contribute to the design of the family home- and, thus, his path was set. He served in the Army Air Force in World War II, where he gained experience designing officers' clubs. After returning from the war he studied architectural design and in 1947, at the age of 24, he launched Milo Baughman Design, Inc. Unique, ornate, carved antique dining set - believed to be Burmese in origin.
This set was purchased in Chiang Mai in 1996 and is believed to be from Burma. It comprises 5 large pieces: a dining table. 2 arm chairs and 2 long(3 seat) high backed benches. Each of the items is intricately carved with multiple human, animal and religious temple scenes. The feet of individual pieces are carved to resemble lion heads and the legs to resemble elephant heads/trunks. There are detailed mother-of-pearl inlays. Some of the mother-of-pearl is missing/damaged due to age. The set has not been used for a while and is currently crated and stored on Long Island, New York. Antique Ebony and Wood Dining/Breakfast Table and Chairs
Bought at Christie's Auction approx 8 years ago. The table has an oval top with central ebony reserve and radially veneered with rosewood. Mahogany and other exotic fruitwood. It sits above 4 fluted columnar uprights on a base supported by 4 splayed legs with brass lion paw caps and casters. The table measures 31 inches high, 59 inches wide and 41 3/4 in deep. The 4 chairs were purchased separately. They have a mahogany frame are upholstered with a light tan soft seagrass fabric. The upholstery is finished with brass bolts. Chair measures 38" from floor to top of back height, 19.5 in from floor to top of seat, 21" depth of seat and 21.5" across seat.

This dining room set was my grandmothers. She purchased it in the mid 1940's before I was born. The furniture has been in storage since she passed away in 2004. My taste in furniture is more rustic so I have no use for this furniture and I'm sure she would want me to find someone who would love it as much as she did. The furniture was refinished in 2008 but due to being moved it has sustained a few scratched and nicks. Nothing that cannot easily be repaired. The table is 38" x 72" with the leaf. The leaf is 16" There are some small scratches and a nick on the chairs. The rose fabric was put on over the original green and beige striped fabric. The seat cushion fabric is easily and inexpensively changed. The china hutch is 38" wide and 69" tall it has a small bit of damage to the lower edge. These are 12 matching walnut ballroom or dining room chairs that came out of an old hotel. Part of a larger set of 26 chairs that we have after keeping 12 for ourselves. The backs have burl walnut insets and are very sturdy. 35 inches high to the top of the back by 20 inches edge to edge of arms/hip rests. Seats are 18 inches wide by 16.5 inches deep. Height of the seat from floor is 18 inches. If you are looking for more. Please see my other listing for the remaining 14 chairs. Very rare to find this many matching chairs! They have been heavily varnished with some having peeling of the varnish. The seats have been covered in what looks like hotel carpeting. One of the chairs(see photos) has been repaired with nails. One owner for many decades. The owner is downsizing so this sentimental item must go. Full compliment of pieces: China Hutch/Cabinet Drop Leaf Table with 3 extensions Protective Pad(6 pieces) Chairs(6) The China Cabinet is a solid piece with a clear glass panel that highlights fine china and glassware remarkably. Overall height is 61.25 inches; width is 42 inches. The China Hutch has glass panels in front that slide left and right. The Hutch measures 12.50 inches deep. The Drawer and Storage area below is 18 inches deep. All drawer and cabinet hardware is original brass. The Drawer and Storage area has two drawers(4.25 and 6.00 inches high. Respectively) ... moreplus a center open two door Storage Area at the bottom(15.50 inches high) The top drawer has three(3) compartments. The second drawer has one full sized compartment. Inside the Storage Area is an additional full width shelf that is 10 inches deep measured from its back wall. ANTIQUE FLAME MAHOGANY CHIPPENDALE DINING ROOM SET
This set includes six MAHOGANY chairs. Two of them are arm chairs. The beautiful china cabinet measures 81" x 48 x 16 deep. The buffet measures 65" x 35 x 21" deep, the server measures 40" x 32 x 19 deep. The solid MAHOGANY table measures 61" x 40" without the leaf. There is one 12" leaf that is self storing under the table, and the table expands to accomodate 3- 4 more leaves if you want to have them made. Two of the chairs had been repaired before I purchased the set. There is normal wear and dings for a set this age, but overall the wood grain is very beautiful and it is a stunning set. Duncan Phyfe style antique drop-leaf dining table and 4 chairs set
For consideration is a solid mahogany antique drop-leaf dining room set in the Duncan Phyfe style. Has 2 pedestals and four chairs. The table has the original Watertown slide mechanism. And was made by Extensole out of Sparta, Michigan. Entirely original, including the brass claw cap feet on pedestals. There are two leaves for this table, making it a 77 inch by 40 inch at its largest(w/the leaves) and 24 x 40 when the leaves are out and sides are dropped. 53 inches with just the 2 sides up. I have easily had 8 place settings when the leaves are in. The four chairs are also solid mahogany. And the pads have a red and green herringbone fabric on them, but they could be popped out and updated with whatever fabric is more appealing to you. The table and chairs do have expected wear on them, but they are truly in good shape. This set was my grandparents' ... morewho purchased it in the late 1920's or early 30's.
