Lenoir, North Carolina-the underside of the table is also stamped: Oval Table-Cherry-29-etc. Made of Cherry wood-medium, chestnut brown stain allows for much of the grain in the wood to show. Set consisted of table with removable center piece-5 regular chairs and one captain's chair with arms-hutch and buffet. I bought these 20 years ago and now am getting different furniture. I had the seats professionally reupholstered long ago to match my decor(olive green/goldish print)I have always kept seat pads on the chairs when in use-so the seats are in great condition. Table measures 58" x 40" x 30 1/2" tall-with an additional center piece that measures 12" wide. The Hutch is 47" x 15" x 70" tall. The Buffet is 57" x 17 1/2" x 30 1/3" tall. Overall very nice condition-normal wear for being 84 years old. Some things I would mention are that the wood color of the center piece section is darker than the rest of the table, it was like that when I bought it-possible meant for contrast or maybe because it was stored out of the light)also a slice of the corner wood has broken off as can be seen the the picture-back rt corner of section. Also-a bit of wood had chipped off the top corner of the table leg(tiny but I mention it to be exact-not seen from the top) The legs screw off with attachment bolts to remove them for storage. Also, one chair missing a decorative wood curve on front leg-shown in pic. Also- scratch on table top-6" and 1 1/2"shown in last pic. If I missed something-please ask. The color of the hutch in the first pic is the true color-rich and beautiful. FABULOUS DINING ROOM TABLE AND CHAIRS BEAUTIFUL ART DECO DINING FURNITURE FROM FRANCE CIRCA 1930s The rectangular table extends out on either end by leaves built into the table When leaves are not in use the table measures 39" x 51" and is 29" tall With both leaves fully extended the table measures 91" x 39" Each leaf is 20" in length. The main table top is free from scratches or damages. The table legs and base are also free of damages. The extensions have some surface scratches that do no detract from the appearance of the table when fully extended. There is a deep scratch on one of the leaves which I have shown in one of the photos. It is located near an edge and is not readily apparent. Six oak chairs with solid pressed and scalloped backs are also included. The backs consist of three layers of pressed and ... moremolded oak and are 1/2" thick. They measure 20" x 14" and the seats are cushioned with padding covered with naugahyde and measure 18" x 16" The chairs are also in very good condition. There is a small nick on one chair back that is not readily detectable and one of the cushions was nicked by something sharp prior to when I bought the set. They can easily be recovered if you would prefer a different look. I believe that with furniture such as dining sets. The scrapes and scratches acquired over the years lends character to the piece. I purchased the set in the exact same condition it is in today. I have owned the set for about 7 years. But for most of that time it was rarely used. This set includes six MAHOGANY chairs. Two of them are arm chairs. The beautiful china cabinet measures 81" x 48 x 16 deep. The buffet measures 65" x 35 x 21" deep, the server measures 40" x 32 x 19 deep. The solid MAHOGANY table measures 61" x 40" without the leaf. There is one 12" leaf that is self storing under the table, and the table expands to accomodate 3- 4 more leaves if you want to have them made. Two of the chairs had been repaired before I purchased the set. There is normal wear and dings for a set this age, but overall the wood grain is very beautiful and it is a stunning set. I am pleased to offer for your consideration. This exquisite antique Queen Anne Revival Formal Dining Suite in hand-carved walnut with mirror-matched burl facings. This NINE-piece ensemble includes a China Hutch. Buffet, Table, and Six Chairs. This Suite was manufactured for and sold by Jos. Mendleson, Inc. Fine Furniture, 686 Main Street, Buffalo, New York, and I believe that it dates back to the 1930's-1940's. This Suite is magnificently styled in the Classic 1740's Queen Anne fashion. With sweeping lines, and bowed legs, profusely adorned with hand-carved ornamentation featuring the classical Palmette Anthemion Motif. It is REAL hand-carved wood. And it is masterfully executed! As far as the Condition: The Seat Cushions are the Original Velvet Brocade fabric in the Palmette Motif. And they NEED to be Re-upholstered. In fact, ... morethe previous owner removed two of the cushions and tried to'DYI' Don't worry. they didn't get far with the project. And I have ALL the original seat bases, padding, and even the removed original fabric. I am certain that whoever buys this suite will want to select just the right fabric to work with their decor scheme. The condition of the wood and finish is in surprising good condition. The finish is original.There are some minor little dings and scratches. And yes they are MINOR and few and far between. The worst being on the lower legs of the chairs, and even that is not very noticeable, and a little scratch cover or lemon oil would probably take care of it. The'sheen' of the finish on the China Hutch is a little uneven, sort of'blotchy' but you only notice it at certain angles. Overall I would rate the finish at 90% +. The carpentry is in wonderful shape, both structurally and cosmetically. Everything is tight and solid. I can find no repairs. All the solid brass hardware and fasteners are original. Here is a special opportunity to own a really fabulous early twentieth century American walnut dining table that has a wonderful story and has been in my family since 1979. My husband. Then"my boyfriend" was working construction for a contractor on Long Island for the summer during college that year and when the two of them dug this old table out of a basement there in Rockville Centre, he was lucky enough to have the opportunity to buy it from the owner. He later paid to have it professionally cleaned up including having the top refinished and having a custom table pad made to protect the top as well. For the next 35 years we used this table as our formal family dining table, the centerpiece when celebrating holidays and special events with our three children and many friends over the years. The refinished top is gorgeous and shows off the beautiful walnut wood grains which I attempt to show in my series of photographs. The heavy carved edging and the large turned legs on a split base with bun feet really make for a striking presentation. The mechanism shows this table is designed to spread to a much longer length, perhaps 10-12 feet, if someone were to have leaves remade. This terrific table measures 60 inches long by 45 inches wide. There is no mistaking the style and sophisticated design of this exquisite English antique Victorian solid mahogany extending dining table. Circa 1870 in date. This amazing table has three original leaves and can comfortably seat ten people in comfort. This striking table has been hand-crafted from solid flame mahogany which has a beautiful grain and is in really excellent condition. The three leaves can be added or removed as required to suit the occasion by a special winding mechanism. The leaves can be easily removed and stored away when not required. The table has the most beautiful reeded legs which have been masterfully hand carved ... moreand they sit on their original brass and white porcelain castors.
