Incredible French Carved Single Door. Mirrored, Armoire/Wardrobe. Incredible detail all over. This one is from the mid 1800's, I do not believe it has been refinished ever, looks all original to me. You will see a few age marks here and there, and a few flecks of veneer off along the bottom of the door. In the last picture you will see the door is open to the piece and the left hand side is seperated, this is because a tightening bolt is missing. These pieces break down in several pieces and have to be attached, the bolt that attaches the left side to the crown, or topper, is missing, I will get a new one and have it in there before it is delivered to a customer. Dragons, griffins, birds and fruit are lavishly sculpted in high relief by a master artisan. The old finish may be original and is very well preserved with minor mars on the bottom of this solid fine grained oak furniture. Waxed and buffed. Only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its warm patina. Brass hardware and glass knobs are original, drawers have expertly hand cut dovetail joints. The original shaped and beveled mirror has"smoke" for character. There are gaps as shown between the doors from age shrinkage. It's large and comes apart to move. I do not have the four armoire bolts. You can get those replaced easily online. I have used this piece without the bolts. the 1890's key is not present. An antique Arts& Crafts style solid oak Hall Wardrobe of American origin. We are pleased to present this antique Hall Wardrobe for your consideration. It is made of solid Oak wood. And is of American origin with an Arts& Crafts or Mission style look. Unusual for an American piece, it has a mechanism for disassembly to simplify the task of moving it from one place to another. A single door is found on the front, and hooks(not original to the piece) are found on the back, near the top, for hanging garments. Limited depth on the inside is not sufficient for a hanger to fit front-to-back. So this piece is better suited for use as a Hall Wardrobe, rather than a full armoire. Other possibilities, with the addition of shelves, would be use as a Bookcase, Spice Cabinet, or Kitchen Pantry. The outside measurements are 69 inches high. 33-1/2 ... moreinches wide, and 15-1/2 inches deep. There are four(4) pieces of sliding wood locks on the inside. When slid towards the front and removed, they allow the top and bottom to be removed for transport(see three close up pictures to get an idea of how the mechanism works) On the inside. Measurements are 63 inches high, 28-1/2 inches wide, and 12-3/4 inches deep of usable space. Five(5) sturdy hooks are available at the top for hanging jackets, hats, or similar items. The Hall Wardrobe is in great shape. The finish on the outside looks fresh with minimal wear. There are a few water stains on the interior. But the wood is solid. The hinges on the front door have a heavy patina from age, but are quiet and in good mechanical condition. We rate the overall condition as very good. Stunning Antique French mirror wardrobe/armoire from the Belle Epoque Era
This has been in our spare room for several years and we absolutely love it- it is truly beautiful. Sadly we need to part with it to make way for a new member of the household. The top piece comes off above the mirrored door. And both drawers and shelves come off/out to make moving/transport easier. It is very sturdy, not a light piece. The paintwork is distressed and it was bought like this 11 years ago, and only the knobs and handles have been changed as they were in poor shape or not existent and 1 shelf added. It measures 252 cm high at middle point 124 cm wide. 46 cm deep plus the top piece sticks out another 25 cm as you can see from photo 2, but is removable. It was originally designed to adorn a wonderful old manor or stately farmhouse and may have had to come through several rooms to be placed. It also means that the wardrobe is easy to transport and manageable to carry. The wardrobe is in good antique condition. There are minor knocks/scratches to the woodwork. As you would expect for an original item of this age. I have noticed the following. There is a fine crack in the wood panel behind the mirror. It is secure for use. But needs mention. There is a small piece of trim missing on the very bottom of the 1" width between mid-section and right section. Also a small corner on the top of same section. The brass on the rail is loose at left side. There are two small spots of white paint on the far left side panel. All of the above mentioned are minor. Overall an amazing piece. antique solid wood Bavarian wardrobe
This is a solid wood antique wardrobe from Bavaria. Called a"Bauernschrank" furniture the farmers used to have. Unfortunately due to lack of space it had to kept in a shed for the last 10 years or more, and therefore is in great need of TLC. The wardrobe probably dates from around 1870s, and the wood is maybe spruce. It used to my childhood wardrobe, however it needs to be sold, as we cannot keep in the house due to its dimensions and I would like it to go into good hands- preferably somebody who knows about restoring antique furniture. Its dimensions are D 54cm. W 121cm and H 179 cm.

Solid pine antique wardrobe/ armoire. Beautiful. Has bags& bags of character, hand made hinges, still working lock complete with original key. It is still very sturdy. A testament to the craftsmen who made it. Has four shelves which can be removed if required. If you wish to add a hanger rail for longer garments. Would look stunning in a victorian or cottage home. Or in a chic shop as part of a display- very versatile indeed with the removable shelves. This item measures 39 inches wide by 19 inches deep by 69 inches high. Local Pickup Only, No Shipping) Here is a grand Victorian-Era Armoire which dates from 1890-1910. It is constructed of heavy Oak. This Armoire has been in the family since 1966. When we rescued it from a old Victorian-Era house located near the intersection of Houston Ave and Washington Ave, near the Heights and Downtown. That old house, which was located directly behind the Knapp Chevrolet Dealership, was sold and slated for demolition for expansion of the dealership, in 1966. This Armoire is in excellent restored condition. It has been refinished twice. Once in 1966, and again in 1993. The present color is Antique French Blue. The entire interior ... moreincluding the(5) shelves are covered top and all sides in pretty patterned embossed paper(durable also) The front side of the Armoire is embellished with carved Arabesque- and Acanthus-motif ornaments. There are(2) storage drawers at the bottom, each with(2) brass Lions Head drawer pulls. The door glass is thick and is smoke grey color. The back side of the Armoire was strengthened with 3/4" plywood, which covers the entire back. This was done in 1993, and makes the Armoire as sturdy as the Rock of Gibraltar. The armoire is very heavy and stout, weighing approximately 700-800 pounds. In order to move it, you will need at least(3) very strong movers, along with suitable padded dollies and a trailer. Better yet-have a 3-man mover do it. It's a real bear to move. The top crown is not permanently attached, to allow for easier moving. We have used this Armoire mainly for china storage. It would also be perfectly suited for a music system cabinet. An art curio cabinet, or for books. The shelves are 15-5/8 inches deep, front to back. The shelves are fully adjustable on shelf brackets. Each door opening measures 19-1/2 x 58 inches. Each door measures 20 x 58-1/2 inches.

Huge Cherry Knockdown Wardrobe/ c. 1860s This is an incredible mid 1800s Midwestern solid Cherry knockdown wardrobe with 2 doors over 2 drawers. The piece sets up and locks with keys and is extra solid when all together. It measures 7'9" tall including the decorative top crest. 65" at the widest, and 24" at the deepest. All the panels are raised on the inside and outside. The drawers are dovetailed front and back with very thick chamfered bottoms. The piece has been refinished some time ago and it was very well done. There is a set of very well made removable shelves inside that are free-standing and do not affect the originality of the wardrobe. The original hooks and top shelf are also there. wickedcrazymom Store Antique mid 1800's Wardrobe~Chifferobe~Armoire. It is a beautifully constructed and very sturdy piece. This came from an old farmhouse in Alabama. I refinished the piece about 30 years ago. Since it is pine. I decided to try to stay in the same color family that would have been common when the piece was built. I used as an entertainment center and. Years ago, I modified the piece to allow for the back of a pre-flat screen TV to stick out the back of the piece. I know, I should have waited for flat screens to come out. Anyway, I built a shelving unit which can be removed~it simply sits inside the wardrobe. At the top of the inside of the unit, I attached some pine shelving via some angled metal brackets, which can also be easily removed. The boards that would have originally been on the top were missing when I found ... morethe piece. I used some old reclaimed wood to replace them. This is a great piece- look at the detail in some of the pictures. The builder used wooden pegs and square nails to attach the wooden pieces. The trees that were used to build this piece must have been large in diameter, the door panels are 14" wide, and the back of the piece has boards that are 11-14" in width. This piece has great presence in a room, and makes either a nice entertainment center, or could be modified to be used once again as a wardrobe. It is very big and heavy. So local pickup only. Dimensions: 80" tall. 48" wide, and 21.5 inches deep. Doors measure 66.5" tall by 19.75 inches wide.
