Gorgeous Antique Wardrobe Armoire with Beveled Mirror! Original hardware with two Metal Clothes rods. Beautiful ornate carvings and large mirror to reflect light. Solid warm Wood with patina markings to add to charm. Selling as is with minor repairs needed reflected in photos: Mantle was cracked in move and one side glued with a gap. This is not something I would notice as its quite tall and not obvious. Bottom drawer stuck closed and would need a metal slider for smooth open and closing. A bottom piece pulled out from dolly being removed. Needs securing. Mirror is in excellent condition with no cracks or clouding. Otherwise in good vintage condition with normal scratches nicks normal signs of aging. Top piece comes off to clear ceilings and was cracked repaired at one time. This is a beautiful Walnut Armoire. Louis XV era, circa 1800-1899. It has a single beveled mirror door and has intricate carving on the top and on the bottom drawer. The inside has 5 shelfs measuring 3' x 13" and an inside lockable drawer measuring 27 1/2" x 19 1/2" 4" deep. The inside of the armoire is lined with birdseye maple. The armoire measures 95" to the top of the filigree. And is 40" wide. The beveled mirror measures 25 7/8" wide and is 57 5/8" high. The door is also lockable. Below the door/mirror is another drawer measuring 31 3/4" x 14" x 3 5/8" deep. It is in excellent original condition. It comes apart in 4 sections for easy shipping. A beautiful addition to anyones antique collection.

This is an absolutely fabulous antique one piece Victorian four door mahogany closet or wardrobe. With original cloak hooks and campaign drawers and carved decorative finial. Currently having several shelf papered covered shelves someone added to increase storage space, a new owner could have additional or shelves more appropriate to the age of the piece made if desired or it could simply be used for that always needed extra space to hang multiple jackets and store books, gloves, scarves and sporting equipment within a stylish yet functional old Victorian wardrobe, most recently imported from the UK through Edinburgh, Scotland. This terrific four door closet stands 86 1/2 inches tall and measures 67 1/2 inches wide by 17 inches deep. Front to back. There are a total of three brass cloak hooks around the wall in each end closet as well a three ... moreprong hook in the center plus four along the wall and two more 3 prong hook's in the large center closet, with hooks for a total of 22 coats, jackets or scarves. This is a superb example a FABULOUS example of the' Old World Lost Art of Finger Painting Grain on Wood' The painted grain patterns are not showing up well in some of the photos attached. For those who may like a description of this art: When furniture was built with wood which lacked natural grain patterns.The artist would apply burnt umber. Burnt sienna, or other such oil pigments in turpentine oil to his fingertips and paint patterns which imitate attractive patterns of wood grain found in other species of trees. In this example. The artist first painted a soft tone base color. A pale yellowish white(yellow ochre? before applying the grain patterns or the stencil designs. Artist finger painted wood grain on inside of door also, but not interior 3 walls) You will notice that in the vertical panels on each side of the mirror. On ... morethe crown. And on the drawer front, the artist chose a contrasting base color. a white with slight green-gray tint. You may enjoy observing the DELICATE TULIP designs are included in the stencil art. Also interesting is that the artist used a'swirly' design. Maybe a'burly' instead of the more straight grain patterns, on the drawer front. The crown, and the side panels. Where he applied the colorful stencil designs. The crown is removable for easier portability. Pegs hold the crown securely when it is in place. CONDITION: Marvelous. For a wardrobe that has been in constant use for many decades. However. The small thin brass escutcheon is damaged. And the small decorative brass door knob-pull is not original. It may have been added in the 1915-1930's era. This has been described as Pennsylvania Dutch. And we do know that it was sold in a New York State sale in 1975. But we wonder if this was produced in Europe, possibly Netherlands or Germany. And was brought to the U.S. by a Pennsylvania Dutch Family living in New York during the 1800's. Majestic antique armoire made by expert cabinet maker Geo. Laird& Son. Bridgeton, Glasgow, Scotland. Made of tiger wood oak with ebony inlay it has the original teardrop hardware pulls with a dogwood motif. Also a beveled glass viewing mirrror. As this style dome in Birdseye Maple came almost exclusively from there during this period. I am only selling this as it is too large for my small Victorian home. And I have too much floor settling in my home to fully accommodate its functionality, unfortunately. This gorgeous armoire has beveled original glass mirrored double doors that lock with the original key. Everything is original-nothing is reproduction or replacement. A very rare find and nearly impossible to find this exceptional quality and condition in Birdseye Maple! This piece is very large and will need a large room with tall ceilings in order to accommodate! Assembled with meticulous pegged construction. This Ar-moire is in beautiful condition and has been passed down to me with the following info. The items actual date of manufacture is unknown. But has been stated as being 1890-1899. Material used for construction has been stated to be Burl Walnut. Item was originally purchased at an estate sale in Beverly Hills, CA. Weight of item has been stated to be in excess of 300 lbs. but never actually taken. Item is stated as being 100% original in hardware and materials used. Now for what we know for sure. This Ar moire is very large! Measures 76" tall(from bottom of legs to tallest point. Center) with 72 1/2" across(from left to right edge, center) and a depth of 19 1/2" Diagonally(from bottom left corner, across face, to top right corner) it measures 102" The wardrobe is sectioned into three pieces. This super cherry Armoire is in good condition and is in the style of Louis Philippe. Standing on stub feet. The Armoire has a plinth drawer to the bottom with a further drawer above which is constructed with hand cut dovetail joints and has turned wooden knobs. This good example has an angular cornice over a deep frieze with two large pin hung mirrored doors flanked by reeded columns atop a two drawer base with turned feet. Original Fine C19th Antique Victorian Mahogany Large Single Double Wardrobe
Here for auction we have a beautiful Victorian mahogany wardrobe dating to the second half of the 19th century. This good example of the classic Victorian wardrobe has a moulded cornice over a single large mirrored door flanked by arched panelled sides enclosing hooks and full length hanging space on a deep base drawer raised atop a plinth base. The drawer is mahogany lined with its original handles and easy to use. To the inside the original hooks are in place but a rail could be easily added and modern hangers can be accommodated. The wardrobe is in good order with the only worthy note being a small amount of `spots` to the original mirror but nothing to worry about and to expected. Large Victorian Solid WALNUT Armoire
Fabulous solid Walnut Victorian Armoire. Nice condition considering age. Has has repairs to top skirt. Missing 2 top skirt trim pcs but hard to notice. Breaks down for transport. I got this whole thing into a Land Rover Discovery as a reference. Measures 9 feet tall. 57 inches wide, 20 inches deep. Inner openings match side to side and are 27 inches wide, 59 inches tall and there is a 10 inch tall shelf above. Unit is on casters. Pc is Solid Walnut with the exception of the back and inner dividers. They are in Pine. Great tombstone style decoration on doors. Hand carved upper crest. Shipping is on the buyer.
