Mirrors with bevelled edges and ornately ... morecarved wooden panels give this piece an amazing decorative look. A gracefully curved top is capped by an intricately carved finial. Skirted fronts and short cabriole legs lift it off the ground and keep the armoire from feeling heavy despite its size. This piece can be dismantled for moving. Overall. The armoire is in good condition. The two side mirrors have some noticable silver loss. Example pictured. There are also some small dents and dings to the wood. Currently having several shelf papered covered shelves someone added to increase storage space, a new owner could have additional or shelves more appropriate to the age of the piece made if desired or it could simply be used for that always needed extra space to hang multiple jackets and store books, gloves, scarves and sporting equipment within a stylish yet functional old Victorian wardrobe, most recently imported from the UK through Edinburgh, Scotland. This terrific four door closet stands 86 1/2 inches tall and measures 67 1/2 inches wide by 17 inches deep. Front to back. For those who may like a description of this art: When furniture was built with wood which lacked natural grain patterns.The artist would apply burnt umber. Burnt sienna, or other such oil pigments in turpentine oil to his fingertips and paint patterns which imitate attractive patterns of wood grain found in other species of trees. In this example. Vintage National Vulcanized Fibre Co. Steamer Wardrobe Trunk Titanic NVF antique
This auction is for a beautiful antique wardrobe steamer trunk made by the National Vulcanized Fibre Company. The construction of these trunks bearing the indian-head label date back to the late 1800s into the early 1900s. This particular piece has been stored in my moms attic since she and my dad purchased their house in 1965 from an old couple who had lived in the home since i was built in 1924. I'm estimating the age of this trunk to be anywhere between 90 and 100 years old. As seen in the pictures the trunk had been only slightly used and does not show any signs of travel use. It shows signs of oxidation on the metal parts and slightly on the vulcanized material. The leather handle has not worn out and is still in good condition bearing the number 524-22. Vintage Antique Samsonite Luggage Train Case Chest Wardrobe Shwayder Bros #4139
This needs TLC. But it is a lovely part of History. The gentleman that owned this traveled by train for his job. No key but it does have a place for one to go. Pretty beat up but I have not cleaned it as I do not know what to use. The inside seems to have all the pieces but one of the"curtains" need to be repaired as it has come loose from the strap. This appears to have one side for hanging clothes which appears to be intact. The other seems to be shelves this is the one that needs repairing. This is made by the Shwayder Brothers out of Denver, 4139. This has one lock on each side and two locks at the top. The left one is a little hinky but it does close correctly. Overall measurements(approximate) are 73" tall at center of wardrobe. 21 1/2" deep and 48" wide. The inside measurements are 63" tall and 20 1/4" deep. The shelf is approx. 9" below the inside top of the wardrobe. The rods for hanging clothes and the hardware are original. The mirror measures 12" x 23 1/2" This is a nice piece of furniture and has no deep scratches and there are no cracks in the wood. Antique Armoire Wardrobe with ornate details.
Antique wardrobe measures 80" tall x 19.5" depth x 5" wide. Ornate carvings and beautiful tiger oak(not sure) wood. It is beautiful to look at. Center door opens to reveal the interior 6 brass hooks and 2 rods. Bottom has two pull out drawers with brass pulls and key lock plate.Disassembles into several sections for more manageable moving. There is a small section(approx. 2" of wood inside that has fallen off and the ball legs have minor scuffs. As long as I can remember, the center door is missing the turn handle but still functions and opens. There are key holes on the door and drawers with lovely brass hardware but I'm not sure if it will lock. There is an old key provided. The wood is exquisite. It is quite the show stopper. The inside left is 16" deep. It is sturdy and in good condition. There is some minor wear. It has all original hardware. The mirror is clear. There are veneer pulls on the drawer corners. huge antique NeverBreak wardrobe trunk, 1930s
This is an antique ca1930s wardrobe trunk by NeverBreak. It has definitely seen some mileage-there are stickers from Singapore. Gloucester Hotel in Hong Kong, Japan.the traveler's name was Paul Thornton(visible on one of the stickers) It closes well, everything works. It's old though, so it's a little"off" All the brass fixtures are intact except tarnished. And the inside is clean. The leather handle is still there. It is missing the lock and key. It has sat in a bedroom as a decoration for many years. It is 40" long. 18" deep, and very heavy! Hard to see it go. But we're moving and there's no room!
