This piece is made out of the most beautiful walnut wood. This eclectic piece was made during the time that is now referred to as the Aesthetic Movement. It's design exhibits an unusual architectural feature in that the upper section is not only a breakfront. But then the upper cabinet section projects away from the case like a medieval oriel window. The doors on this section have numerous carved beveled panels lending a three dimensional effect. This is a 110% authentic and genuine antique Louis Vuitton Steamer wardrobe upright trunk dating back to 1913. It's in remarkably great condition. It has all the original hardware with 5 wheels(4 on the bottom and 1 on the side) and 2 handles. The wheel on the side allows the trunk to open easily when it stands on one end. This was convenient when it was used as a wardrobe trunk. The monogram canvas. The wooden slats on the bottom, the locks, the nails, and the leather straps are all marked with LV and/or Louis Vuitton. It is hand painted and monogrammed with the initials L.J.P- it was once used as a wardrobe trunk, the tray is gone but the cedar slat is still there. The front lock says 1 Rue Scribe, Paris, Louis Vuitton, London, 149 New Bond Street, Made In France. The lock number is 039456. There are 4 interior shelves and the fixed bottom board to use for storage. This piece was originally a wardrobe and the shelving was added later. Along with what looks like hooks for cups to hang on. There are 4 hooks that go with the piece. Please note; there is one hook missing(5 holes, 4 hooks) All surfaces are painted, except for the very top which appears to be a 14" wide oak plank. The white enamel hinge bangle is unusual and would fit any size wrist. It measures 31/4" in the front. And tapers in the back. It does have some small chips in the enamel. The Hallrobe is in good overall but used condition and is ready to place in the setting of your choice, It a superb quality item and is made of solid oak throughout. It has a carved flared cornice above a single door with brass pull handle, the door has the most fantastic detail with carved central medallion which is surrounded by geometric detail, it also has split bar, bead and floral carved detail throughout the front of the piece, the hallrobe stands on turned front legs and square back legs, all of which are united by stretchers, The interior has a single shelf with hanging rail which runs from left to right ... moreand a rectangular mirror to the reverse of the door. Condition The hallrobe is 100% sound. Sturdy and free from woodworm, it has slight shrinkage to the centre panel at the top and a very faint bow to the door, very very minimal yet must point out) it has a small pieces of fret carving missing here and there, it has that much carving that it is not noticeable, the mirror has slight misting. al l faults are minimal and are commensurate with age. This Hartmann trunk is approximately 40" x 27" x 24" The outside of the trunk is in decent shape. It has some wear on the leather. All of the metal and fastenings are intact. The clasps are original. Found this trunk while clearing out an old house in Washington DC. I don't know anything about it so the information here represents my best guess based on information I could find on-line and by looking at the trunk. It has one side made up of 5 fabric covered drawers(one with a lock) and the opposite side for hanging clothes. It appears to be a wardrobe trunk made by Albert Rosenhain Berlin. There are a few markings on the outside of the trunk- a red stripe and some initials. It has metal tacks and hardware. One original hanger that bears a tag with the"Albert Rosenhain" name and a metal hanger(which may or may not be original) The interior cloth is army green. Covering the outside of the wardrobe section is an integral hanging garment bag with a zipper made from the same army green fabric. This is a beautiful vintage genuine thick 100% leather hardcase suitcase. The lining is original and is in excellent vintage condition! Just look at the photos ~ where do you find suitcases like this one! I have three original hangers for your suits or clothing that will be included with your purchase. The latches and interior snaps work fine. There is a very tiny area of one of the compartments where the stitching has come loose. This well traveled suitcase would look great as part of your home décor or has many more travel miles ahead of it if you choose. Here is a fabulous early 19th century French wardrobe with original hinges and lovely carving across the top above the doors including raised carved applique date of 1835. Imported to Charleston from France by it's current owner after he purchased it at a high end antiques store in Normandy. The finish particularly on the front doors is nice with lovely wood grains and the original long metal hinges holding the doors in place. It stands 78 inches tall and measures 60 inches wide and 28 inches deep front to back at the widest points on it's bonnet. The outside of the closet itself measures closer to 54 inches wide and 26 inches from the front of the doors back to the wall. For your consideration, this Fine American Walnut Victorian Eastlake Wardrobe/Armoire with Burl Accents, Mirrored Doors and Makers Label(Circa: 1880) This lovely Wardrobe measure 89” in total height, 61 ¼” in width(crown) 54 ¾” in width(body) and 22 ¼” in depth. Amazingly, the original makers label is still intact and it reads The J. W. Davis Furniture Manufacturing Company Louisville, KY. The inside storage dimensions are 69” in height, 26” in width, and 17” in depth for each section. This beauty disassembles into 12 pieces for shipping purposes and is full of possibilities. This lovely Wardrobe/Armoire is constructed of solid Walnut with beautiful incised Burl Walnut moulding beneath the crown along with elegant vertical raised Burl Walnut panels on the sides and in-between on the original mirrored ... moredoors. These doors open to reveal three storage shelves. Additional storage is found in the two bottom burl-front drawers that are constructed with Knapp-joinery. Have intact locks, and brass pulls. Nice scallop shape bottoms on front and sides. Nice crown molding on the top. Inside is 1 wood shelf on top and a wood shelf on the bottom with 2 wood dividers for 3 storage sections. There is lights on the inside top that are unknown if they wo rk or not. You cannot see these unless you are looking up on the inside. Measures approximately 79.75 inches tall x 45 in. wide x 18 in. deep. Nice condition for age. This is a very old piece that will have some mino r scratches. Etc. Antique German Biedermeier Miniature Doll Furniture Armoire Austria Wardrobe Kas
This most unusual European walnut. And hardwood(pine secondary wood) miniature wardrobe with ebonized wood panels dates ca. 1860-1880 and measures only 23 ½” tall x 17” wide x 7 5/8” deep. It features a faded and worn original French Polish surface with some irregular coloration but a nice sheen. All of the wood with the exception of the inside shelves(added early 1900s) appears to be original and there is only the scantest trace of old(inactive) insect damage to the bottom. The tiny, turned bun feet are sturdy and without damage and the locks and latches are right as rain. You will note a very small corner loss in the veneer on the top back corner as per the pictures.
