A large rectangular mirror on the single cabinet door, and exquisite paneled accent carvings on either side of the mirror. The bevelled edge mirror is very clean almost suggesting that is has been replaced but I found no evidence to support that it is not the original. The cabinet door has an ornate solid drop pull and the drawer has two large decorative bail pulls. The skirt is arched on the side of the piece and there are scalloped brackets on the front. The interior is paneled and has two mounted hooks and 6 sliding hooks on the hanging bar. A very nice piece in remarkable condition for the age(circa 1890) this armoire is certain to become a cherished heirloom. Condition: It has some age appropriate signs of wear including scratches. Manufactured during the early 1900's in England or Scotland was recently imported from the UK through Edinburgh Scotland. It offers beautiful organized storage for even the largest wardrobe. This early twentieth century wardrobe offers a large double hanging closet with a hanging bar with multiple sliding cloak hooks on the bar as well as cloak hooks around the inside of the closet. This open closet space of course could easily be fitted with any of the the modular storage systems available in most major department stores if that better served the needs of the new owner. The opposing single closet is fitted with three removable shelves which makes four large functional cubbies. The decorative doors on this wardrobe include beautiful veneer ... morepanels on the two outside closet doors and a large arch top beveled mirror on the center closet door. The design of the piece includes decorative metal hardware as shown and it appears to be both original and intact. This wardrobe does have a currently working lock and a key. Though I never guarentee old locks. The real highlight is the gorgeous wood used to create this piece and craftmanship that went into making it into such functional storage space. This is a high quality piece with dovetailed drawers and sturdy construction. This is a large wardrobe that is from England and brought to the US by an American Soldier in the 1980's. It is a very nice piece with very few flaws. It has a mirrored front door with the original door and draw handles and key. It also has the original inside hanging bar and hooks. It has a wide over hanging top and one draw at the bottom. It comes apart in 3 pieces. The top molding piece, the center with the mirrored door and the bottom drawer piece. If you look at pictures#8,9 and#10 you can see one lower edge on the outside is missing a small area of the molding. The top is dovetailed, and in spite of a little bit of separation of the back from the top, it remains a very sturdy piece. It measures 8.5 x 3.5 x 5.5. There are two doors on the front, each with a long oval mirror. There's a large drawer underneath the doors, and inside there are two tray/shelves which are removable. Clean and like new condition Measurements are; Height 92.5" Width 59" Depth 24" Wider side has 2 pull out drawers Smaller side has 2 wire basket pull out drawers This wardrobe has"made in Sweden" stamped on the inside. Very roomy. Fits a lot of stuff and is built very well.
