England. The sole reason for this assumption is because it is identical in the basic design as the one pictured. It is a beautiful dark stained walnut we believe. With just the right coloring to show off its best parts. This really is one of the most beautiful pieces we have offered, and the biggest contributor to the beauty is the patina and the warm stain. It also has beautiful carved scroll work and flowers, similar to some I have seen on Eastlake era pieces. It has beveled glass mirrors with some silvering occurring, but even this, I can see a way to appreciate the way it has come about along the edges. This can be broken down and moved easily as it is actually three separate pieces- a top piece, the main body of the armoire, and the drawers underneath. The hardware is original on the front. I am pleased to offer for sale this primitive Walnut antique wardrobe-circa late 19th to very early 20th century. This walnut wardrobe is tall. Primitive and very heavy; it does not knockdown. It features detailed woodwork on the doors and has two bottom drawers that pull out. Approximate measurements: 78" tall from the floor to the top of the crown molding(removable) 48" wide and 17" deep Interior measurements: 59 5/8" tall; 15.5" wide; 46" deep Drawers: 18 1/4" wide; 14 3/8" deep dovetailed ends The sides are solid walnut with the top. Back and bottom made of solid pine. The doors are walnut and are around 7/8" thick. There are several old hooks as well as a clothes pole inside the wardrobe. The drawer on the right side has two small metal pieces tacked-on(not sure why) It has been in my family ... morefor over forty years. Antique Knock Down Wardrobe/Armoire....Beautiful Walnut
Pictures do not do this piece justice. This piece was purchased by my mother-in-law from Walter Cantrel in western North Carolina sometime in the 1950-60s. I would guess it is from the late 1800s or early 1900s. It is certainly custom made. The work is beautiful, the walnut on the door fronts has a beautiful grain, I could go on and on. The approx. measurements are 95" high, 52" wide, and 18" deep. The piece is made to be dismantled for easy moving.Pickup only in Hickory, NC.Thanks

Inside there are closet rods, some shelves, and one drawer. Hand carved detailing and exceptional burled wood. Needs a little refurbishment to be in perfect shape. Everything is missing from the inside except the lock. Which is missing the key. There are places where pieces of the veneer has come off. This Ar-moire is in beautiful condition and has been passed down to me with the following info. The items actual date of manufacture is unknown. But has been stated as being 1890-1899. Material used for construction has been stated to be Burl Walnut. Item was originally purchased at an estate sale in Beverly Hills, CA. Weight of item has been stated to be in excess of 300 lbs. but never actually taken. Item is stated as being 100% original in hardware and materials used. Now for what we know for sure. This Ar moire is very large! Measures 76" tall(from bottom of legs to tallest point. Center) with 72 1/2" across(from left to right edge, center) and a depth of 19 1/2" Diagonally(from bottom left corner, across face, to top right corner) it measures 102" The wardrobe is sectioned into three pieces. The left two thirds share ... moretheir interior space and have a beautiful brass closet style rod spanning its length, with original brass hangers and hooks.The right most third of this wardrobe is partitioned, and has three adjustable shelves and an original glass mirror(48x14x1/4) mounted on inside of door. It's an antique Italian Walnut Bombe Wardrobe Armoire. Dating from around 1920. Serpentine shaped body with a bombe base and with scalloped cornice tip and cross banded frieze above a large central mirrored door with a serpentine front and with a single inlaid door to either side all with ornate gilt handles. Breaks down to three sections for ease of transporting. Tom Horvath in Totowa. NJ had completely refurbished and refinished the armoire about 10 years ago. Been kept out of direct sunlight so finish is still excellent with a few faded areas but only visible upon close inspection. Recent on-line listed prices of similar armoires ranged from $2000- $2800. Measures 91" high x 82" wide x 17.5" internal depth.
