England. The sole reason for this assumption is because it is identical in the basic design as the one pictured. It is a beautiful dark stained walnut we believe. With just the right coloring to show off its best parts. This really is one of the most beautiful pieces we have offered, and the biggest contributor to the beauty is the patina and the warm stain. It also has beautiful carved scroll work and flowers, similar to some I have seen on Eastlake era pieces. It has beveled glass mirrors with some silvering occurring, but even this, I can see a way to appreciate the way it has come about along the edges. This can be broken down and moved easily as it is actually three separate pieces- a top piece, the main body of the armoire, and the drawers underneath. The hardware is original on the front. The center section is recessed and backed with a beveled mirror and has a marble top vanity with the original porcelain sink. Below are 2 small drawers and a cabinet faced with carved doors. To either side are the closets. They are faced with beveled mirror doors with a drawer below each. The 4 legs have fluted pilasters topped with columns. Corbels, and finials. The pediments are loaded with carvings. Ornate moldings, spindle work galleries and in the center a peaked crown with carved sun rays. This is one of the nicest closets I have seen and it is very unique. It is made of walnut and is currently painted. With overall dimensions of only 62 inches tall by 30 inches wide and 18 inches deep, front to back. In addition to the gorgeous burl walnut veneer on all sides but the back, the fabulous hand carved handles really make this wardrobe special. I do have a key for the lock on the door which will be included though I never vouch for a long lifetime on an already old lock set. This wonderful piece is in very nice condition inside and out with a top large shelf across the inside 28 inch width and measures 15 1/2 inches deep with 8 1/2 inches clearance above. Antique 19th century French Armoire from the Charente - Walnut - to restore - NR
This auction is for a 19th century French armoire for restoration. The armoire is made of what I believe to be walnut. I purchased this at an antique shop near Cognac in the Charente department of France about 10 years ago and had it shipped to the US as part of a load of inventory for an antique shop(since closed) that was located in Connecticut. It was a project piece that I intended to restore and then sell. Unfortunately. I never had the time to tackle this so I am putting this up for sale to someone who has the time and skill to restore this to its former glory(we used to sell these in restored condition anywhere between $6K& $12k) The photos tell do the best job of describing the condition- to summarize, there is no back(it was a piece of plywood when purchased and removed pending restoration) the crown and top(as well as the bottom) ... moreare missing and will need to be rebuilt, there is no lock on the doors and door on the right has has a slight warp to it(that someone has corrected by putting a piece of wood into the opening to make it close completely) the spanner beneath the doors was replaced at sometime with what appears to be matching wood but not carved to match the rest of the case, the left side is complete but has come out of mortise on the front column and will need to be reattached, finally, the right side bottom spanner is missing the bottom of the curved carved piece(see a photo of the left side bottom to get an idea of what is missing) If you have done this type of restoration project before then you know what is involved and how nice this will be when complete- it's a great project for someone with some skill and patience. Height from top to bottom is 84" Depth from front to back is 21.25" width is about 52" The doors are 48" wide by 71" high. The escutcheons measure 19" high by 1.75" wide. Due to the size. Fresh out of a local estate is this very early 1800's walnut miniature armoire. I believe this to be either a salesmans sample or doll armoire. It was used by the previous owner as a jewelry box/ cabinet and hung on the wall. The construction is as you would expect a full size piece to be made.tongue and groove etc. The piece has panel doors and sits on four bun feet. The interior has shelves and two drawers. At some point the interior was painted. I do not have a key for the original lock that is present. There is hardware attached to the back for hanging. The condition is very good with no chips. Cracks or damage. A few light scratches from handling over the years. The armoire measures 25" tall 15 3/4" wide and 10 1/4" deep and weighs almost 15 pounds. Sold without a reserve.

Offered here is a gorgeous Large Antique Louis XV Style Walnut Armoire(French) circa 1880-1910. This piece is in very nice condition. It features beautifully carved provencal style flowers with basket at center. With a serpentine shaped apron raised on cabriole legs and original hardware. It features 1 shelf, but more could be added and the original key. The only flaws to mention is a split in the floor of the piece that does not affect the armoire structurally(see picture) and repair to repair to back legs. This piece is a great decorator piece! Pictures do not do this piece justice. This piece was purchased by my mother-in-law from Walter Cantrel in western North Carolina sometime in the 1950-60s. I would guess it is from the late 1800s or early 1900s. It is certainly custom made. The work is beautiful, the walnut on the door fronts has a beautiful grain, I could go on and on. You can definitely tell that this particular craftsman had a deep love for his work as this armoire is truly a work of art. In my many years of collecting and researching rare antiques. I have never seen another like it. This gorgeous unit dating to the very early 1900’s was shipped to the U.S. in 2003. It measures 84” Tall by 81” wide and a full 24”deep. The center door is a full 35” wide(again. Extraordinary design) with the side cabinet doors at 20.5“ The armoire retains the original beveled glass mirrors on the face of the center cabinet and on the inside of ... moreboth of the side cabinet doors providing a panoramic view when both side doors are open. The original un-restored dark walnut finish on the exterior and burl panels highlights the blond interior. The unit shows very little signs of wear and the mirrors have the typical haze and spotting that were common of the era. All the hardware is excellent except one door pull that is in need of repair as the clasp that holds it to the door is broken. The original locks on each door are intact but I do not have the key. It can be obtained through any locksmith. This fine example of French craftsmanship breaks down for easy shipping. It is doweled as well as bolted together for a perfect fit when re-assembling and I will include assembly instructions. It is a two person job to assemble and will take approximately an hour. There will be a 150.00 crating and packaging fee that will be added to your final winning bid if you chose to have the unit shipped. The reason being. It will need a special packing crate built from scratch to protect it in transit. This absolutely stunning Baroque walnut armoire was purchased in Opio. France, 11 years ago by my husband and me. Our children are off to college, and we are downsizing, so we are selling a few of our larger pieces. Measures 96" tall. 86" wide, 28" deep. The armoire has two very large doors that swing open, and are secured with a metal antique key. The two drawers under the doors open for additional storage. Indicative of pieces from this era. There are not any'nuts and bolts' but instead the pieces fit together, and are secured and locked in place when the cornice is placed on top. I am happy to send additional photos. For sale is an Antique Armoire. From the late 18th Century, from Austria. It had an original price tag of $1,250. It's a beautiful piece that has a lockable door(no key included) a mirrored inside, and glass shelving. It is constructed of walnut and has burl wood paneling and it has an amazing grain to it. The interior wood is pine or cedar, I'm not sure. Its dimensions are: 72"H x 47"W x 19.75"D. There is also a rounded topper on the cabinet that adds an additional 8" but it is removable.
