Large. Salvaged, architectural pediment. Beautiful, Victorian antique in overall wonderful condition! Walnut construction with raised, bevelled, burled panel in the middle. Highlights include.sawtooth trim far left and right, quarter fan carvings, segmented vertical trim, cornice molding above, and repeating geometric design across top with cannonball finials. Hanging wire attached in back with felt pads to protect wall. Can also freely stand upright, on its own. 1800S ANTIQUE RESTORED CAMEL BACK VICTORIAN FURNITURE STEAMER TRUNK X L (DATED)
Up for consideration is a very nice restored victorian trunk. It has been cleaned well inside and out. All hardware and wood has been lightly sanded then sealed with a satin finish for protection. New leather handles were put on. The inside has been tastefully recovered. It has dated latches that read" July 1. 73. Inside the trunk the lid stay is also dated 1870. This auction is for a set of 4 vintage drawers pulls will brass plates. The handle swivles at the knob on the base of the plate. The handle at the end of each pull is made of wood. There are two different designs on the rings around the handles- see pictures 2 and 3(there are two of each design) This is the only difference I can see in the set of 4. Two of the pulls are missing the end screw at the bottom of the ring on the wooden handle(see photo 1) These pulls are getting harder to find in this condition. You're bidding on a pair of color chromolithographic prints- they were originally plates from a folio entitled"Masterpieces of Industrial Art& Sculpture at the International Exhibition. 1862" published in 1862 by Day& Sons, Lithographers To The Queen" The exhibition was an early World's Fair. The prints are a nice size- 11 1/2" X 16 5/8" on heavy stock paper, with vivid beautiful coloration. One print, The Glass Case" features an enormous and elaborate display case, and the other, Hall Table" is of a marble-topped ornate table with mirror and ornate design. Authentic. Circa 1870s piece with original square nails! I believe it is made of walnut with a wonderful raised, burled walnut panel in the center. Eastlake spoon carving on burled panel. Raised, carved flowers near each end. Repeating xx trim along top. It even has matching turned finials on top. Convenient, old, hanging wire attached in back.
