Dimensions 7'5" h x 50" w x 20" d This listing is for a beautiful Louis XV provincial pine armoire/trousseau. This style of carvings on this piece were typically done on a wedding trousseau. A father would carve it as a gift for his daughter and give it to her on her wedding day. This armoire is in very good condition and shows the normal signs of wear associated with its age. The carvings are lovely and the wood has an excellent patina.

French Country 1780 Carved Fruitwood Armoire. Authentic Country French or Provincial furniture from about 1780. This historic armoire is solid fruitwood, delicately hand carved with traditional artistic motifs and graceful moldings. Every plank is hand hewn and planed, some are diagonally sawn. Feet have been restored, perhaps 100 years ago. Warm and satiny. The rich finish is excellent with glowing patina. Doors lift off original hand-wrought hinges and the crown can be detached to facilitate moving. Corners are secured with hand-carved wooden pegs. There are repairs and losses as would be expected on a true antique of this age, there is lots of character- mars, stains, wood beetle holes. There is an old working lock with giant key. Country French 1790 Fruitwood Antique Armoire. An authentic Country French or Provincial armoire was hand carved of solid fruitwood about 1790. The satiny finish is excellent with just enough antique patina for a little character- see photos for mars at the edges and shrinkage separation. The fruitwood has old wormholes- typical of European furniture from the 1700's At the top. A well proportioned crown is removable for easier handling. Front doors have been lined in oak a few years ago, probably at the same time the removable oak shelves and supports were added. Joints have original carved square wooden pegs. Wrought iron hinges and escutcheons are also original on this gracious historic furniture from central France. The key is a handle only. The lock is incomplete. This beautiful piece has been intricately designed with inlay and burled wood veneers. There are 3 tall doors. The patterns on the 2 outer doors add so much character to this armoire. The center door is covered in a huge arched beveled mirror that appears to be original. The mirror has some fogging and dark spots, very typical of a piece this old. There are no breaks, chips or cracks ... morein the mirror that I can see. All the doors have key holes, however we do not have a key. There are 4 brass capped feet supporting the front and 2 feet supporting the back. Molded brass trim adorns the crest above the doors and the corners around the arched mirror top. The center cabinet has a bar in the top for hanging items. There are shelves in the side doors and lots of room for more shelves to be added. The center hinge on the right door is broken and the side panel has bowed a little because of it. There are several pieces of inlay missing from the design on each of the outer doors and the veneer is so old it has cracked and split in many areas. Overall this piece is in nice condition, it just needs a little tlc. I do not know the maker or exact date it was made. This armoire weighs 450 pounds. Beautiful Antique Golden Oak Two Door Two Drawer - Armoire-with original key
This beautiful 80" high armoire is 42" wide and 17" deep. It is an original antique believed to come from the early 1900's and with no veneer. It has the original pulls. Keyholes and one key. The ornate'crest' is 44"wide and 11" high. The two doors open up to what has been used as new shelves for folded clothes or storage, etc. The depth is not good for coat hangers unless you hang them left to right. The two drawers down at the base are handy. This entire armoire dismantles after removing a few screws when it has to be moved as in'floor to floor' which makes moving easier. The right door has some chewiness at the corner on the inside only probably from wear. There are two plastic over metal shelves currently installed. The lovely finish is in excellent condition with warm antique patina. Rosy brass embossed hardware is original on this American made furniture. This historic Armoire Measures 79 H x 55W x 22 D The Bonnet is removable and door lift off for easy transport. Antique Armoire/Hall Closet
Another amazing creation by Tennessee Artisan Sissy. This was a Maple Armoire that was very sturdy but had no pizazz. Sissy saw it for what it could be. What we have now is a contemporary piece that is sure to make any home brighter. Place it in the master bedroom or in the hall for guest's coats. All the hardware including the inside hanger rods is original. Dimensions are 48"x72"x19" Made circa 1940's. Signed by the artist. Thank you for looking. Magnificent Antique 1900s Wardrobe/Armoire/Dresser/Closet~ Inlaid Wood~69" Wide
This is a magnificent antique wardrobe/armoire/closet made by Gullachsens of Newcastle on Tyne. It is very large: 69" wide x 22" deep x 82.5" tall! The two side doors have a beautiful inlaid wood design. The center door has a full length beveled mirror. The left& center cabinet doors open to reveal a pole& hooks for hanging clothes. The right door opens to built in shelves. It has the original locks. But I do not have the key. I believe any skeleton key would work. It was made by Gullaschsen of Newcastle on Tyne in England. And still has the original name plate inside the cabinet. This company closed it's doors in 1929. So this gives you a great idea of when this piece was made. It is actually 4 pieces.the wardrobe. The cabinet with shelves, the base, and the crown molding, which makes it easier to transport. The ... morecondition is great! It has some minor scratches at the bottom from the door scraping when it opens& closes. The mirrored door is missing the bottom dowel and will need to be replaced.
