This beautiful antique walnut armoire is from Paris. France. It is great for storage. I had a trim carpenter make extra shelves so I could hold more folded clothing. It is such a great clean style I hate to part with it. I paid $2600 for the armoir and purchased it at an antique store in Denton TX 16 years ago or in 1998. It has beautiful beveled original mirrors and a key lock. It also has a drawer on the bottom but the lock does not work. Should not be a big deal to fix. I have all the original pieces in the drawer. I included a picture of the shipping label inside the armoire that shows it came from De-pont-de-Beauvois. It is an area in south eastern France. Armoire is 53.5" W x 23"D x 88" Tall. This absolutely stunning Baroque walnut armoire was purchased in Opio. France, 11 years ago by my husband and me. Our children are off to college, and we are downsizing, so we are selling a few of our larger pieces. Measures 96" tall. 86" wide, 28" deep. The armoire has two very large doors that swing open, and are secured with a metal antique key. The two drawers under the doors open for additional storage. Indicative of pieces from this era. There are not any'nuts and bolts' but instead the pieces fit together, and are secured and locked in place when the cornice is placed on top. I am happy to send additional photos. I estimate late 1800's, could possibly be as late as 1920's. This one is not perfect, there are a few veneer flecks, though not very noticeable. I tool a couple of close ups. It has an elaborately carved floral and scroll crown and sides. Below the doors is a carved drawer as shown in the photos. It stands on carved cabriole legs and scrolled feet. This French walnut armoire or wardrobe from around 1900 has a magnificent hand carved shell motif crest. The original warm brown finish is extremely well preserved on this superior quality furniture from France. Waxed and buffed. All that is needed to maintain its warm patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. Diamond matched panels and curved sides are beautiful. The key is a handle only. The lock on the door does not work. Lift off hinges are original. The interior is oak and birdseye or curly maple, the shelf adjusts on wooden supports and interior depth is 16 1/2.
