I believe they probably originally came off an armoire or something similar, they do have a lot of age to them. I think they might be as old as late 18th century. There are iron rods that run the length of the doors. You can obviously see in the pictures that they show some wear and one of the doors is missing a section on the bottom. A metallic gold seal inside the top drawer reads ... moreHooker Bassett Seal of Quality. Stenciled on the back is XO 30 ROBE. It is 36" wide x 60" tall x 20" deep. With inside closet measurements of 20" deep x 16-1/2" wide x 56" high. The drawers are dovetailed and four drawers are 15-1/4" x 14-3/4" x 8" deep. The fifth(top) drawer measures the same accept it is 6" deep. The mirrored top adds 6" to that side height measurement. Overall, the original casters add 2" to the height. They also make it easy to move. The knobs and pulls are of a white metal with marbleized pink thermoplastic decoration-celluloid or Catalin. Etc. It is a quality wardrobe in very good solid condition. There are very small pieces of veneer missing mostly on the bottom. There is a tiny piece missing on the top edge of the third drawer down and a crease in the front of the second drawer from the top. The mirror has some small issues. This piece was purchased by my mother as a place to keep her many crochet projects and to store her completed afghans. It served her well over the years. All her things are being sold off. Manufactured during the early 1900's in England ... moreor Scotland was recently imported from the UK through Edinburgh Scotland. It offers beautiful organized storage for even the largest wardrobe. This early twentieth century wardrobe offers a large double hanging closet with a hanging bar with multiple sliding cloak hooks on the bar as well as cloak hooks around the inside of the closet. This open closet space of course could easily be fitted with any of the the modular storage systems available in most major department stores if that better served the needs of the new owner. The opposing single closet is fitted with three removable shelves which makes four large functional cubbies. The decorative doors on this wardrobe include beautiful veneer panels on the two outside closet doors and a large arch top beveled mirror on the center closet door. The design of the piece includes decorative metal hardware as shown and it appears to be both original and intact. This wardrobe does have a currently working lock and a key. Though I never guarentee old locks. The real highlight is the gorgeous wood used to create this piece and craftmanship that went into making it into such functional storage space. This is a high quality piece with dovetailed drawers and sturdy construction. I've included a number of photographs in an attempt to accurately represent the construction, design, condition and beauty of the piece, though pictures just don't do it justice. I bought it last weekend in the street brocante from an elderly man who is down sizing and moving to Paris to be near his son's family near Porte de Vanves. He remembers it being used every Christmas and New Years Eve at his grandfather's house in Le Quesnoy and was often asked to give it a polish but can't remember how ... moreit got it's dent on the base rim. The reason I love it is because it has two different nameplates( never seen this before) Photo 1 shows an enamelled"Piper" nameplate and the other side shows a large"Piper Heidsieck" nameplate. Antique " Keyston " Mrkd Western WideCheek Bridle Star Steel Silver Buermann Bit
This auction is for an old wide-cheek western bridle headstall and it's attached bit. The headstall does not have a set of reins. The nicely tooled headstall is marked"Keyston" up on the end of the adjustment strap at the top of the headstall. As seen in the 6th picture. The bit is marked"Star Steel Silver" and those words are followed by the"Star" mark of the August Buermann Co. as shown in the 9th picture. Both the headstall and it's bit are old and they do show signs of wear from both the years and use. But everything is in usable condition. All of the leather has been cleaned and condition, very pliable. The throatlatch does not appear to be original to the headstall. It has adjustment buckles on both sides of the headstall and it does have some shallow surface cracking of the leather, but nothing ... moredeep at all. There is really only one area on the headstall itself that has any noticeable surface cracking of the leather and that one area is on the very front of the brow-band, as shown in the last picture. The rest of the headstall is in good condition, there might be a few tiny fine surface cracks in the leather, but you would have to really look closely to find any. The adjustment strap at the top of the bridle is in nice condition. As shown in the 7th picture. Even the little straps for the bit attachment are in good condition, as seen in the 8th& 11th pictures. The silver colored conchos and rosettes do have some tarnish on them and I have not attempted to try to clean them. They do not contain any real silver, they are perhaps stainless steel or some other type of metal. The side of the headstall that has the buckle on it is 20 3/4" long and this measurement does include the large buckle at the top of the bridle. Which in itself is about 2" X 2 3/8" The other side of the headstall is 26 1/2" long, entire length. The bit has a 5" mouth-piece. Antique 1906 WIZARD Cuff Holders Gambling Card Cheating Poker Clips Pair of 2 NR
Available for your consideration is a Pair of 2 Antique early 1900s WIZARD Cuff Holders Handsome vintage silvertone cuff holders. With a unique design and an ornate pattern. There are no markings to indicate silver content. There is a fold-out clip at one end. And a spring clip that swivels 360 degrees at the other end. Back in the early days. Men's shirts came with detachable cuffs and collars so they could be easily replaced with clean ones to maintain an air of respectability. These Wizard cuff holders were used to hold the removable cuffs in place. I believe the small fold-out clip was inserted through the cufflink holes. And the spring clip was used to attach it all to the shirt sleeve or to the inside of the jacket. Folklore suggests that the more inventive of the Wild West poker players used these gadgets to keep a playing card(usually ... morean ace) hidden up their sleeve. The pair that you are bidding on are in very good. Used condition. There are no broken parts. The fold-out clips and the spring clips all hold tight. There are some very minor surface marks/wear conducive with age and use. Ly, Page 152, 505 Size: 23 1/2" high x 16" wide x 4 1/2" deep(approx) Description: This is a very nice short drop regulator- ready to hang on your wall and use. Our buy it now price is a great value for an antique Seth Thomas clock of this high quality. The old oak(Seth Thomas' words) case retains the original finish in excellent condition. Only a few very fine, light scratches on the very bottom of the case. The wood is in great shape for it's age with no shrinkage or separations that are so common on these. The case is dated on the back 1907A. Which dates the clock to January ... more1907. There is a very nice full label on the inside of the case which was covered with plastic by the prior owner to preserve it(easily removable if desired) The original dial pan was repainted at some point in time(not by us) and at first glance is a good job. Though not professional like The Dial House. Upon close inspection I can tell that the dial pan was not stripped down to the base metal before repainting. All of the screws that hold the dial pan to the case are original, which is hard to find. The original solid cast brass bezel is excellent and has a nice age patina. The hands are excellent and original. The upper glass is an old proper replacement and is of the proper thickness. The tabs that hold the glass in place are all original and intact. The lower glass is original with the original reverse painting in excellent condition. The pendulum bob is original and the key is a proper replacement. T he original 8 day. Time only movement is signed with the Seth Thomas logo.
