Mirrors with bevelled edges and ornately ... morecarved wooden panels give this piece an amazing decorative look. A gracefully curved top is capped by an intricately carved finial. Skirted fronts and short cabriole legs lift it off the ground and keep the armoire from feeling heavy despite its size. This piece can be dismantled for moving. Overall. The armoire is in good condition. The two side mirrors have some noticable silver loss. Example pictured. There are also some small dents and dings to the wood. One escutcheon is probably not original to the piece and the other two are missing. The entire piece stands about 103" 8'9" tall. It is about 84" 7' wide and 22 inches deep. Seth Thomas Small Mantel Clock 89 MV Antique Vintage Collectible
Bidding on an early 1900's Seth Thomas Mantel Clock. This is a small version of the Sentinel or Tambour Clock manufactured around 1920. The case has been redone as it was pitted and scraped from years of cleaning and abuse still shows some age. But in great shape, beautiful wood grain. The 89 movement inside is the most popular of the ST collections, cleaned and oiled appropriately. All brass has been cleaned and polished. The front and back doors open and close as they should. The key and pendulum are the originals that came with the clock, the key has some damage but is strong and works fine, adds character to the item. The clock itself is all original, everything has been touched, but nothing has been changed. The clock is currently running slow, although the tic toc is right on, will adjust as time goes on. The dial is porcelain and ... morein great shape, look at pictures. This clock will keep you busy around the home as it is an 8 day movement that needs to be wound every seven to eight days, but also keeps you company as it will gong once on the half hour and on the hour to represent the time. Fine sound from a little guy, fits anywhere, no mantel needed. Take it out of the box and display it. This is a ST clock, the finest American manufacturer in early American History. ST was the first in 1813 and his clocks are still ticking today. If serviced every five to seven years this will easily last another century, the movement is made of brass and brass does not wear, it just get neglected. Good luck bidding. I am offering a diamond in the rough a beautiful antique French gilded bronze and hand painted porcelain mantle clock made by the renowned French clocks maker Samuel Marti et Cie. This piece was made between 1860 and 1870. Based on the early serial number of 1989. Movement stamped“S. Marti et Cie Medaille de Bronze” in a circle. Samuel Marti was awarded the Bronze Medal in 1860. as well as the hand stamped serial number and the makers mark, there is an interesting mark in the left side of the back plate which is a square with the capital letters C,J,C,C. Please view all photos for these marks and for the overall condition and appearance of this beautiful time piece. This is a working mantle clock and it strike the chimes on the half and whole hours. The condition of this piece is excellent. But need a cleaning to make it glow. The hand painted ... moreporcelain dial and the associate plates are in perfect condition. The back cover is missing, but can be replaced. The front glass cover is perfect. The key and the pendulum are replacements. The pendulum is an original for this type of movement, but comes from a different clock. This clock measures approximately 15.5" tall by 9.25" wide by 5.5" deep. Samuel Marti et Cie were well known clock makers in Paris in the mid eighteenth century. In 1860 it's known that their premises were situated at Le Pays de Montbeliard and in 1863 Marti worked with two other well known clock maker's Roux. And Japy Freres in promoting their clock movements. This type of clock is unique and valuable. Other examples sell for well over $2000 at auction and higher on the open market. Maintain this piece and it will only increase in value. I am offering this clock for a very reasonable starting bid with NO RESERVE. You are looking at an Antique Art Deco German Junghans Wooden Mantel Clock. This clock is large. Over 22 inches wide, 6.25 inches deep, 9 inches in height. All measurements approximate. This clock is in original condition. It has never been refurbished. It has a unique feature that no longer clock does– when you lift the clock. There’s an automatic spring-loading system that locks the pendulum to avoid damage. It gongs every half-hour and on the hour on a double-gong. The clock runs very strong and keeps excellent time. If I had to rate this clock. I’d give it an 8+ out of 10, very conservatively. The case on the top of the left side does have some varnish flaked off. But no damage. This is an operating mid-1800’s. Daniel Pratt steeple clock with hour strike. The clock’s brass movement is in very good operating condition; incorporating a recoil escapement. A chime strikes the hour and is powered by a dedicated counter-clockwise windup spring. Key-wound via an access hole located on the front, left-side of the clock’s face. The clock movement is powered by a clockwise windup spring. Key-wound via an access hole located on the front, right-side of the clock’s face. A thumb screw adjusts the length of the pendulum. Providing a means of regulating the clock. It appears a date of manufacture is located on a label on the clock’s backside with a handwritten date of 1878 with a number 209(perhaps the 209th clock made) The label inside the clock is mostly intact and readable and states the clock is a brass movement. The clock’s case appears to be made from veneered wood; pine wood(appears to be rosewood. Mahogany or walnut veneer) The clock sides and top are not veneered. Only dark stained pine. Clock case glue joints appear strong. Some small pieces of veneer are missing. The case is 19.75” high. 10” wide at the base and 4” deep at the base. Old antique violin with label Esposito Napoli 1848
Up for auction is this very old interesting violin. It bears a label inside dated Napoli 1848. I don’t know, if this is genuine or just decorative. I can see only some very small and repaired cracks at the lower end of the table. A repair to the button of the neck and the pegcase is patched outside on both sides. The colour is of a light brown– orange and yellow and the wood of the table is very fine grained. I think, that it is playable without any further repairs and has a strong and clear voice. Shipped in barrels then pored into fancy glass bottles. There bottles were usually displayed on a shelf or cabinet behind the bar. This is where“back bar” bottles came from.
