A very nice Antique Vintage Pine Armoire/Wardrobe Closet for sale. We do not know the age but suspect early 1900’s. It is quite large measuring 78” tall. 46” wide and 18” deep. We have had it in our farmhouse for 25 years and use it to store antique quilts. It has four drawer space with wide gaps to accommodate quilts/bedspreads. It has two large doors that open which also has the original key. The key turns the lock mechanism but does not lock. There is also a nice storage drawer at the bottom of the wardrobe. Early American Furniture Antique Primitive Pine Colonial Armoire Wardrobe @1795
This Spectacular Early American Solid Plank Pine Armoire/Wardrobe is Circa 1795-1825 Of course this piece was all hand made. No doubt by an early American craftsman. It features thick solid pine plank construction.The armoire has tons of character marks and great patina, I restored the finish with a hand rubbed varnish to protect the wood and bring out the gorgeous graining and character marks. The early hand wrought iron nails are exposed.At the door frame front corner faces you can see the two hand made pegs at each corner. They secure the hand made mortise and tenon joinery of the door frames. The entire top has one solid plank of pine which is dovetailed with one large dovetail joint into the sides of the armoire.The blackened graining of the pine is natural and makes for beautiful highlights. The cornice detail which trims the cabinet ... moretop is superb. Another rare and excellent feature is the original hand made clothes hooks which swivel left& right. They are hand-pegged into their support piece. The whitewashed cabinet inside appears to be original. There are also a few tiny remnants of a linen/muslim cloth held by wrought nails inside the cabinet.It appears the cabinet was once lined with linen cloth. The iron lock is original. I had a period style key made,the key is solid brass which I painted to match the hardware.The lock and key work excellently. The hardware is reproduction period style iron hardware.This piece has many nicks. Dings and character marks in the wood, There is an exposed nail on the lower left front corner where a chip of wood has been missing for a long time, I like the fact you can see this nail, it adds tremendous character& history to this piece, I made no attempt to restore this area, I think it is unique! The doors have age related shrinkage gaps where the recessed panels meet the frame, this is to be expected with a such an old piece.The doors close well, I added magnetic catches to secure them. The sides also have the"double- bombe" shape as well as front. Book-matched burled elmwood/ walnut veneer with scroll inlay design adorns all three front sections. Bonnet on armoire is of a serpentine design with carved scroll work. The 2 side doors open to reveal 2 adjustable interior blonde wood veneer shelves which can be removed. Center door opens to area where a wooden rod would have been suspended.rod missing but could easily be replaced. Armoire has 3 bronze rococo handles with key holes and 6 bronze hinges. Lock on left door has a separate key as its lock has been replaced at some point. The other 2 locks work with another key which ... moreis also available. Lots of storage possibilities. I have even had this armoire taken up winding stairs. Approximate overall size when assembled is 94 in. tall x 75 in. wide x 26.5 in. deep. Stunning Antique Salesman Sample Oak Wardrobe / Armoire Miniature
This is a truly wonderful antique salesman sample wardrobe or armoire. The piece is crafted in oak. Primarily quarter sawn, with iron strap details. It is meticulously made. Every aspect of this object is charming and exacting down to the tiny knobs and escutcheons. Note also the detailed side panels and the charmingly executed faux bottom drawers. It retains its original mirror which shows loss to the leading that only add to the authenticity and beauty of the piece.The interior is also beautifully done and fully finished and reveals supports for an interior shelf and rod(sadly not in evidence, if in fact they ever existed) This is the finest salesman sample I have ever had the pleasure to discover. It is a rare and wonderful antique that I have no doubt has been loved and displayed and moved and bequeathed and inherited. Words do not do ... morethis justice. Now to the nitty-gritty. So that there is no disappointment: As evidenced in the photos, this has a wire attached to the back as it was displayed on a wall. In the course of that display, perhaps someone painted the ceiling as there are small paint dots on the top which I'm sure could be removed with fine steel wool. This probably was re-shellacked 75 years ago or so as there is evidence of drip marks down one side. The teeny tiny brad that attaches the front right foot is gone. The doors can be temperamental in staying closed but work wonderfully when the piece is level. And generally, please refer to the pictures as they describe this better than words. It measures approximately 14 1/2" high by 9 1/4" wide by 4 1/4" deep. It is simply lovely and beautifully executed. Please ask any questions you might have. Additional photos available on request. This auction is for a beautiful wood salesman sample armoire/wardrobe. I am uncertain as to the type of wood. Or it's age, however, the craftsmanship is very nice. The top is dovetailed, and in spite of a little bit of separation of the back from the top, it remains a very sturdy piece. It measures 8.5 x 3.5 x 5.5. There are two doors on the front, each with a long oval mirror. There's a large drawer underneath the doors, and inside there are two tray/shelves which are removable. There are some markings on the back of these shelves, as well as some pencil markings on the bottom of the piece. Please study all pictures closely, as I have tried to show all defects. Antique French? Hand Made Salesman's Sample Furniture Wardrobe Armoire W/ Drawer
Very nice antique salesman's sample wardrobe or armoire in French Country style. Piece measures 17-1/4" tall by 12-1/8" wide by 6-3/4" deep. It is quite old. No maker's marks or label on it anywhere. I think it is mahogany or walnut, very lovely deep reddish brown in color. It has one drawer, which is fully removable, drawer measures 8-1/2' wide by 4-1/4" deep by 1-7/8" tall. Doors and drawer have tiny wooden knobs, look to be original. Two shelves inside the armoire, doors have concealed hinges- pins in top and bottom of doors that are unseen from the inside or outside. Lovely cabriole legs all the way around, curved top is bent wood, quite a lovely and detailed cabinet. All looks to be hand crafted, hand made. Back is one piece of wood but does have a crack near the bottom middle of the panel and a small ... moreone near the top left corner, more noticeable from the back than the interior. There is one tiny sliver chipped off the lower right side corner, the chipped off piece is included and should be an easy fix with a dab of wood glue, the chip will be included for the buyer to repair. It does not sit quite level on all four feet, left front foot or back right foot would site better with a small felt pad applied which I will also leave to the buyer. Some very slight wavy areas to the top bent piece, more like a surface indentation or original grain imperfection, looks original. Overall, for it's age it is a beautiful piece! Would be a beautiful addition to your salesman's sample furniture collection or to your large scale doll and dollhouse collection. I accept Paypal. Payment is due within 7 days of end of auction. Foyer, or other small space, this antique hall wardrobe was made in England around 1960. We recently imported it to our antique furniture store in Atlanta, GA along with a variety of other wonderful pieces. The wood used on this beautiful armoire is oak. Although it was made in 1960. It was done in a Jacobean style that has been around for hundreds of years. The main characteristics of this style are the linen fold ... morecarving(or scroll carving) found on the door and the geometric carvings found around the very top. The darkened hinges and escutcheon/ handle are also reminiscent of the Jacobean era. This is a very well built antique hall wardrobe. Whoever the maker was used quality techniques and materials to form a truly beautiful and long lasting piece of furniture. The oak has a lovely medium color that will continue to grow more beautiful with age. The door opens and closes easily. There is a lock and a key however it does not“lock” The key can be used to open the latch. But there is no traditional throw that locks the door while the key is removed. The button on the lock can also be used to unlatch the door. Inside there are brass hooks on the back side. A top shelf also has a brass hanging bar below it. This shelf is removable should you decide you don’t need it. This piece has a unique plaque on the inside of the door from the lock maker. It reads“Locks by“Asro” and claims if the lock needs servicing in the next 70 years it can be posted to the address on the plaque. While I wouldn’t recommend doing this. It definitely gives the piece some unique charm. Even after over 50 years of life.

An 18th century English linen press in figured walnut. It measures approximately 85" tall. The widest point is at the top molding- about 52" wide. The deepest part is also at the top molding- about 20-1/8" deep. At the mid-point down. It is about 50" wide and 18.75" deep. We do not know the maker. There is overall normal surface wear commensurate with age and use, including some dings and scratches as they are found commonly on antique furniture. The top molding in particular has splitting and drying due to age. We believe the hardware is original, and the key is included. Most of the original glue bucks are intact as well. The structural integrity is good and there are no major problems. The piece does break down into two pieces for easier transport. FOR SALE: 19th CENTURY FRENCH VICTORIAN ARMOIRE/ WARDROBE- Wonderful rare find- perfect for period décor. This piece is exactly what would have been in a 19th Century San Francisco mansion bedroom. This Armoire/Wardrobe is magnificent. It is all original with no restoration to the original hand-painted murals. It is very ornate with hand-painted Victorian cherubs. It has two large closets on either end. There are drawers in the center section closet. It was made in France in the 19th Century. It is very transportable due to the wonderful European design. The piece fully disassembles so that it can be taken through narrow doorways and up tight staircases. Similar pieces have been previously listed on eBay for $10.000.00- $12,000.00. This is a rare find and currently there are none of this magnitude listed for sale on eBay. Measurements: ... more8 feet in length. 25 inches in depth and 6 ft. 9 inches in height.
