Beautiful Solid Brass Mortar and Pestle from the Late 19th to Early 20th Century. Concentric circles engraved inside and outside of both peices. Beautiful and functional. Was a working mortar and pestle in it's day. Has a number"6" or"9" stamped into the pestal. Very well made and heavy- almost 5lbs of solid brass! Pestle is 8.5" long and the ends are 1.5" in diameter. Mortar is about 4 1/4" in height and about 5 1/5" across the mouth. 4" across the base. Unusual Vintage Solid Brass Nutcracker Jester's Head NICE.
Details Description: A vintage solid brass nutcracker shaped as the court jester's head. The nut is inserted in between the jester's heads half and the long curved handles are then squeezed to open the nut. The inside has ribbing or raised casting to ensure the nut does not slip. The jester's head shows very nice details of his face. Hat with bells, and the collar below his neck; just excellent casting and beautiful details. Look at the nose, eyes, bells in the hat, and teeth in his open mouth. This is a very unusual piece and is rather interesting and would make a great discussion piece. This is a heavy Antique Solid Brass Pot. Kettle or other? It is 5" tall not counting the handle and with handle is 12" tall and 10" in diameter. Handle is riveted on, does not move and appears to also be brass and a very solid piece of it, I can see the brass color under all that patina. Needs to be cleaned as you can see in pics inside and out, or leave as is, lots of patina and inside is pretty dirty and needs to be cleaned. It's a very unique looking pot but I cannot find any markings anywhere that would indicate who the maker is. Antique Victorian Solid Brass Beehive Candlesticks. 13' Tall. The engraving on the bottom side reads: Good Luck" with a little horseshoe in the middle. The push-ups don't work and it sure needs to be polished. These are probably from the late 1800s and once they are polished they will be a one-of-a-kind treasure. I have not seen anything like these on-line or in antique shops. I know they have been in my family for at least 90 years. They have wonderful detail and are quite heavy. If I were to clean them up. They have been in my great-grandmother's family for many years. It is believed that my great-grandfather had them made at N&W shops in the early 1900s. Good condition. Visible lathe marks. The piece is in original condition with no changes and does have surface rust and pitting along the open door with the symbol images of 2 crowns and the other 2 I cannot make out.
