HANDSOME VICTORIAN ERA KITCHEN COPPER BAKING PAN ~ HAND HAMMERED ~ 19th c.
This is a handsome antique copper baking pan. Our feeling is that it is English or American and produced in the second half of the 19th century. It measures approximately 13 ½” in diameter and a little over 2” deep. The pan weighs 2 lbs. It is handmade and has a hand hammered body with the rim hand rolled over an iron rod for shape and strength which is characteristic of older pieces. The pan has a steel hanging ring which is held by a small metal plate attached to the body by a copper rivet. The pan has a tinned interior. It has no maker’s mark which is generally the case on old functional copper items. This pan was formerly displayed with other pieces of antique kitchen copper many years ago in a Los Angeles area restaurant which ultimately went bankrupt. This specific pan was later exhibited in Mary Frank Gaston’s book“ANTIQUE BRASS& ... moreCOPPER– IDENTIFICATION& VALUE GUIDE” Collector books 1992) It is shown on page 150(pl. 534) The baking pan is in good original condition with only normal use wear. The bowl is 6 inches diameter across at the top. 4 inches deep and 4 inches diameter on the bottom. The handle is 14” long and has a hook so it can hang. The hand hammered bowl has a large pour spout as well. This ladle is beautifully hand wrought bowl is solid copper and the iron handle. With a hanging hook, is riveted to the bowl with old rivets. This is a brilliant piece of copper crafting and a wonderful item for a country kitchen or a collection of copper utensils. We acquired this from exquisite estate in one of the oldest communities on Long Island. Many of the pieces we obtained from this estate are original to the 1800s. This is a beautiful hand-made piece of enamel on copper. Nicely mounted and framed and ready for hanging. The frame measures 6 1/8 inches by 6 1/8 inches. There are a couple of very tiny paint chips on the front of the frame, probably normal for its age and not noticeable, and a bit of wear to the back of the frame, and this is in otherwise very nice original condition. It is even prettier in person than in the photos. It is signed with a paper stamp on the back, as you can see in the last photo. This would be beautiful on any wall and as part of any collection. This has been in my family since it was expertly hand forged. When you hold it and examine it one can get a sense of its age and history. It measures 6" across by 5.5" tall and 3" deep, The copper is a thick heavier weight so it is not a flimsy piece. The color is superb, a deep rich patina that only can be acquired by the slow passing of time. It has a rustic hand made one of a kind appeal, the hammer marks are larger than average, it has three graduated raised lines across front which adds to its visual appeal. Vintage German Hammered Copper Cream & Sugar *HAND MADE*
Listing now is a vintage pair of"Handarbeit" or Hand-made German Cream and Sugar. These dishes are made of copper and and appear to be hammered. A handle is sodded to the side of the cream dish and both measure about 2 inches tall. There is some tarnish and rubbing on both pieces. I am not sure when these pieces were made but they appear vintage. Please use your own knowledge when bidding. Since there is German writing on the bottoms of both dishes. This is an all wall hanging Copper Plate with Art Engraving of an Egyptian two horse drawn Chariot with an Egyptian Archer Warrior at the Raine's. It is nice work and it is very good condition. The Plate Measures 8" X 8" The Egyptian Pharaoh Style Dagger has a Stainless Steel Blade that is Engraved along with Copper Pommel and Hand Guards that are also Engraved. The Wood Handle is Copper Colored African Cocobolo Wood with Black Wood Grain Stripes. The Dagger is 14" Long. It is a nice looking knife by any standards. I purchased these items while on Assignment in the Sudan at Khartoum while hanging around one of the Middle East Flea Markets back in 1993. Antique Copper Money Pouch. It is 7 1/4inch high.The mouth of the vase and the base/foot of the piece are both an equal 4 inches across.I'm no expert but i have owned some old A&C Metalwork-a couple of Van Erps and two Roycrofts,and as a as a guesstimate i'd say this piece was at least pre 1940's and most likely 20's-30's or before.There are no cracks or noticeable dings,soldering on bottom seems fairly tight. This piece is unsigned and was probably created at a Vocational School or by someone in an apprenticeship program.

I have up for auction a small antique hand Hammered copper bowl w/ lid. I am assuming this could also be considered an urn. The bowl with the lid is 4" tall and 4-1/2" wide. There are a few small dents(pushed in a tad) that can easily be pushed out BUT I prefer to sell it as found and let the new owner push out the slight indentations if so desired. I find them part of the character of this piece. On the bottom I have taken two(2) photos so that maybe you can identify the maker. But the egg poacher it may be copper plated over very soft metal- Ladle measures 21-3/4" x almost 6" wide. The strainer paddle measures 24" long x 7" wide- The egg poacher measures 8" wide x 10-1/2" between the tips of the handles. They have some wear and tarnishing. Each has an engraved or stamped design along the handle. The parts look to be welded together. Both handles are curled at the ends so it can hold a loop for hanging. ANTIQUE HAND HAMMERED COPPER SAUCE PAN ~ DOVETAILED ~ 18th/19th c.
This is an antique copper sauce pan for the collector of old kitchen copper. It is approximately 4 ¼” in height with a top diameter of 8” and a handle length of 8 ½” The pan is heavy and weighs approx. 3 lbs. It holds a little over 3 quarts in liquid. The sauce pan is entirely handmade and has a tinned interior and a handmade copper handle which is secured to the body by a heart shaped mounting with three copper rivets. The pan is of dovetailed construction. However. Where generally the body is joined by a single vertical brass braised dovetailed seam, this piece is seamed vertically on two sides. This is not particularly common. The bottom is also dovetailed as you would expect. In addition, the pan bottom has an old dovetailed patch where it was once repaired. This is a country piece and would have been too valuable to discard ... moreif there were a hole in the bottom. Instead it was more cost effective to have the pan repaired by a smith or traveling tinker. The repair on this pan is nearly as old as the pan itself. Having lasted all this time it has become part of the bona fides of the pan. Overall. This sauce pan is in good condition for its’ age. It has all of the usual dings of generations of use and wear but no dents. The handle is tight and the rivets are secure. The body of the pan still plainly shows the planishing or hammer marks used to create it. The item is not marked as to who made it or when. Most antique kitchen copper is not marked so this is no surprise. The fact that the pan is a country piece and handmade complicates the issue since the construction techniques were the same for generations. Based on our own experience, we would think that this sauce pan was made in the late 18th or early 19th century. This is a nice old item which has been displayed in our home for many, many years. Vintage Copper Art, Hand Tooled large Wall Hanging
This beautiful wall hanging is solid Copper and large. 25 inches across. This belonged to my Mom and is part of her estate. The hand tooled detail shows a women keeping warm near a coal stove in a kitchen. The relief is very high, perhaps half inch high and greater. There is beautiful detail and wonderful patina. I have only dusted this piece and will cleaning to the new owner.

Antique hand-wrought. Well-made two handled copper cup, with no cracks or breaks, in excellent condition as shown. Cup is 5" high and 5" wide across opening at top. Copper is thick and feels substantial, with light verdigris speckling at rim. I have been told that this may be a 19th century Jewish eastern European laver for ritual handwashing, but I don't know enough about the subject to make any definite claims. In any case, this is a robust hand made piece in fine condition with a lot of presence.
