IT DOES HAVE A SMALL SLASH ON THE BOTTOM OT THE BOWL BUT THAT IS THE ONLY MARKING AND THOSE ARE THE TYPES OF MARKINGS THAT WERE USED IN THE EARLY MAKING OF THESE ITEMS. IT FEATURES A VICTORIAN GIRL SITTING AND LOOKING AT A ROMANTIC VICTORIAN COUPLE. Victoria Czecho-Slovakia Sugar Bowl Asian Blue Iris pattern. Fine art and color! Sugar Bowl with lid by Victoria Schmidt China Company of Czecho-slovakia in the Asian Iris Garden pattern. It is breathtaking to see the young Asian Ladies viewing the Iris garden and the scenery beside their home on the lake and below the mountainous terrain. This is classic Victoria in an Asian pattern. Such detail and color to behold. This sugar bowl is 4 inches wide and 3-7/8 inches tall to top of knob on lid. From outside handle to handle it is 5-3/4 inches wide. The hand painting is very detailed. Looking at the painting with a magnifying glass reveals the true detail. The scene was painstakingly created in great detail. It is my hope that the photos will reveal to you the fine detail in the hand painting. The lid is adorned with cobalt blue Iris at 360 ... moredegrees. Dual square shouldered handles are dark buff colored as is the lid knob. High quality porcelain sugar bowl is ready to use. Or collect, no chips, cracks, or scratches. Hallmark on bottom of bowl confirms that is indeed Victoria with crown, name and country. Artist’s mark can also be seen on bottom, could have been an Asian Ex-patriot or immigrant living in Czecho-Slovak. It may have been painted when the Artist was thinking about or inspired by his previous homeland far to the east. This is highly unusual. In November 1918, at the end of World War I, the Paris Peace committee created a new country Czecho-Slovak Republic, with a hyphen. Most of the people in the new country were the Czechs(Bohemians) and Slovaks, thus the name Czecho-Slovakia. In 1945, after World War II, the country of Czechoslovakia was restored to its mostly original borders. After this time the hyphen was not used in the English spelling of the country. The Czecho-Slovakia country name was generally used with the Victoria Hallmark in two periods, 1918 through 1945 and about 1990-1993. Offered is a beautiful Blue Transferware Sugar Jar in the Pekin pattern. This piece is an inverted diamond shape with a footed base. It was produced by Enoch Wood in Burslem. England circa 1818- 1846. This jar is not marked with the maker's name, but does have the pattern name. This piece is in nice overall condition. It has one shallow chip on the underside of the to rim. A tiny flake on one handle, and some minor roughness around the top interior from use. It does not have its lid. BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE GERMAN CREAMER/SUGAR SET These types of larger creamer/sugar sets were popular before(and during) the Victorian days- maybe people back then always had large company groups for coffee& cake! Not marked. Just lots of hand-written numbers in fine pen script. A spray of yellow and blue flowers on both sides of the sugar bowl, and one spray on the creamer. The handles and knob of lid are fashioned like branches and there are ribbed designs on both pieces. The white marks are from the light and they are not on the porcelain. The creamer is 6.25" tall at the spout. The sugar bowl is 6" from handle to handle, and 5.5" tall. There are no chips are breaks or hairlines, the only age marks I can see is wear of the gold trim edge. Offered in this sale is an early Meissen porcelain covered sugar bowl decorated with the ever popular Blue Onion pattern ... morethat I would date to the 19th century. It is marked on the underside of the base with a blue crossed swords mark and also has another small painted symbol on the base near the foot rim which is probably a decorators mark. There is also a small impressed mark which I cannot make out. There are no scratch lines in the glaze over the mark so this is a factory decorated first quality piece. It has an applied rose for a finial. It measures roughly 4 1/2" tall x 4 1/4" in diameter. The condition is excellent. There is a small glazed flake on the side of the foot ring. However, this is clearly as it came from the factory because it is glazed. Otherwise, there are no chips, cracks, flakes, hairlines or restoration. I have carefully examined the petals on the applied rose and can confirm that there is no loss, damage or restoration. This is a great little bowl in even greater shape.
