1900's French Blue Glass Handpainted Perfume Bottle in Gilt Tripod Stand
This magnificent aqua blue. Conical(6 1/2" tall) perfume bottle appears to have been made in France during the very early 1900's. It is decorated with gilt lines around the middle, around the top rim and on the top of the stopper(very minor usage wear to the gilding) The widest part(2 3/4" is exquisitely handpainted with white& yellow flowers& green leaves. Towards the bottom of the"cone" there is more painted embellishment with a lavender colored vine around. The gilt metal tripod base stands 5" tall and appears to be three Phoenix birds with their wings spread, holding the bottle. The legs are claw& ball feet. The total height, with the bottle sitting in the stand is 9" Condition is excellent with the only flaw being 2 insignificant tiny nicks on the very bottom of the stopper. Antique glassware A lovely and rare barrel-shaped antique glass eau de cologne dispenser complete with its original spigot and cork lined cap. These bottles were used to dispense small amounts of gentlemen’s cologne either in an exclusive barbershop or in a private home after being shaved by one’s personal valet. They were brought back to a perfumer’s shop for refilling and this one is a fine example from the 1880’s or so. The spigot works well. Closes tightly and does not leak. The cap fits tightly and has the original cork insert. The bottle is decorated with two sets of lines and a raised diamond pattern in the center. On the base is etched the word‘France’ The bottle was originally molded glass ... moreand there are few tiny lines in the glass from when it was made. For Auction is a beautiful swirly glass perfume bottle from France. By D'Orsay.It is approximately 4 inches tall. The perfume is gone but it contained Divine, a popular perfume in the 1940's. The glass stopper is also swirly and can be removed from the bottle as seen in the pictures. Both pieces are in good condition. Part of the tag is still attached as is the gold string, which is no longer gold. There is some dark residue left from the perfume making the bottle even more beautiful. Here is an Absolutely Beautiful Custard Opaline Enameled Glass Perfume Bottle Dresser Jar. It was probably made in France in the EARLY 1900s. It is a Beautiful Off white Custard colored opaline glass with pink and white enamel petite flowers. And gold gilded petals, stems, and accents. The glass is patterned also with criss-cross lines. We are pleased to offer this rare antique original French signed Daum Nancy cameo glass perfume scent bottle travel decanter. It has a hinged. Sterling silver, attached top and the original acid etched crystal stopper. This is an estate fresh piece and we have not attempted to clean or polish it. It features a river valley scene with conifers. Perhaps an early spring scene. It also has beautiful Lily of the Valley flowers on the sides of the bottle. There is a dripping icicle design all along the top. Rim of the bottle and this is repeated along the top of the original stopper. Further emphasizing the early spring motif. There are 2 small French hallmarks on the sides of the sterling silver top; I can make out one which is a helmeted head in profile. The top has a vermeil gold wash on the inside. The glass stopper is intact. Lid is hinged and snaps shut securely. Has a loop for hanging on a chatelaine, finger ring, or pendant. Measures 4 3/4" long and 7/8" across lid. C1850 French Opaline Glass Perfume, white & blue, enameled, 8", ground pontil
Description: this is a rare and fine example of a perfume flask fabricated in white opaline glass with a contrasting cerulean torus at the waist and a pointed. Flared stopper. The body of the flask is bell-shaped with a wide pillow rim above the foot; it is encircled in a lively band of Florentine scrolls in yellow, interspersed with small multicolored flowers. This ornate hand-enameled decoration is further enriched with gold. The neck of the flask widens into a crenellated edge finished in gold. There are six simple gold-painted bands around the body and waist. The blue stopper is almost pagoda-like; on a long stem which protrudes from the neck of the flask, it umbrellas the rim and ends in nine points, again divided and finished in gold. Its upper surface is textured as satin glass. Size: 8" high. Including original stopper, with ... morea full diameter of 4" approx. Condition: very good. There are no breaks and no significant chips that I can find. The stopper has a tiny nick on the underside which I have tried to show in the photos by positioning that point against the book. On the upper surface there is a shaving which shows as a shiny spot; other spots appear to be rubbed. Or may not have etched well at the factory. I think it most likely that the apex tip was ground. The base of the body is very smooth, showing the grind marks of leveling the pontil. There are no identifying marks and no signature. The enameled frieze is in good shape but there does exist some small loss to the gold bands. It is particularly difficult to tell if there is much scratching because of the inherent tiny bubbles in the opaline glass. I have found no nicks to the rim and consider it to be very sharp and well-cut. I have owned this piece for many years and have never seen another alike. Though recently I did come across a similar example, all in blue. Should you wish to take a look at it, it is offered online and should be easy to search. If not, by all means e-mail me for details. Check out my! Czech black glass perfume bottle is a spray bottle. The bottom of the bottle is marked"Made In France" and has a foil Irice label. The corners are edged in gold. The top of the bottle is gold in color. Representing a vase with a bouquet of jeweled flowers of black and gold. There is a brass label on the back of the jewels that reads"Made In West Germany" This appears to be quite an international perfume bottle. There are no chips or cracks to the bottle. The cut pattern is so beautiful and facets really make it sparkle in the light. No chips. Cracks or nibbles to the glass anywhere that I can see or feel. It is in excellent condition. The gold tone(brass? hardware is in great condition with only a few tiny surface marks. No dents and overall the hardware is still very shiny. Right where the collar meets the glass I think there was a gold band but some of it has rubbed thin. I do feel strong puffs of air escape with the bulb is squeezed. Antique French Opaline Bristol Glass Enamel Perfume Bottle Decanters & Open Dish
This mid to late 19th century 3 piece vanity dresser set is either French Opaline or English Bristol Glass. The matching pair of perfume bottle decanters are elegantly topped with branch like stoppers. Both the stoppers and the bottoms are numbered. The accompanying open dish(also numbered) is hand painted with enamel flowers in the same motif as the perfume decanters. All have smooth pontil. The colors are in soft. Muted tones with gold accents. The perfume bottles measure 9 inches high with the open dish measuring 3 inches high and 2 3/4 inches in diameter. There are some condition issues to be noted. One of the branches on one bottle is broken as pictured and the other stopper has a slight break on one of the branches which is hardly noticeable. I don't think this detracts from the overall beauty of the decanters at all. But you can ... morejudge for yourself from the pictures. The gold rim is rubbed on the top of one of the decanters. There also seems to be some enamel loss on the rim around one of them. This is also pictured. There is some gilt rub on the open dish, as well.
