This has remained solid and beautifully crafted ready to hand down to a new fortunate child. At one time, this had a key for the drawers and the roll top. Antique Vintage Eastman Child Roll Top Desk w/ Swiveling Chair 1930's Very Nice!
As pictured. Up for auction is this Vintage Childs Roll Top Desk with swiveling Chair. This desk is manufactured by the Eastman Mfg. Co. out of Union City. PA. There's the label on the back that's patially in-tact. These desks were manufactured from the late 1920's thru the late 1930's. The desk measures approximately 23" wide. 15" deep, and 33 1/2" tall. The chair measures approximately 12 3/4" wide, 12 3/4" deep. and 26 1/2" tall. The wood looks to be maple. The condition is awesome for used furniture over 80 year old. Some vintage wear, but nothing to diminish the antique beauty. The roll top rolls beautifully. The top cover appears to be restored. High quality. Hard to find swivel chair with very few flaws. Vintage Antique (Unknown Age) Child's Wood Roll Top Desk - Solid Condition
This listing offers the child's roll top desk. Since I'm uncertain of the age. I won't mislead anyone. I was told it was late 19th century, but again, please judge from the pictures. Don't be afraid to ask questions. I'd be glad to help if I can. And if you can help me pinpoint the approximate era of construction, I'd be happy to learn. The top rolls easily. And the overall piece is in solid shape. I did notice some modern screws were used to replace some older ones on the legs. But most joinery appears to be vintage, in my opinion. The backsplash and roll top are decorated with pressed designs. There is storage on the inside as well as a blackboard surface. Local pickup only. Believe this to be a 19th century child's roll top desk. Very beautiful detailing and design. All wood. Three compartments inside roll top, along with tongue& grove wood framed slate chalk board(slides/removable) and wood drawer. It is in wonderful condition for its age. Please see pictures. Desk measures approximately 24" x 13" x 36" It does appear that a child did write on bottom right corner of slate with black marker. Nothing offensive, just adds to the charm of it being a child's desk. Take a look at the fancy detailed trim and legs. Very attractive, unique piece.

ANTIQUE RARE CHILD'S OAK WOOD ROLL TOP DESK Up for Auction; Used Rare Vintage Antique Child's or Doll Oak Roll Top Desk. This desk is in Very Good Condition for its age. I do not know the exact age but believe it was around the late 1920's. I do know that the desk was stripped of its original stain and clear coated to bring back its original true oak color. And the drawer pulls were replaced, in the late 1980's. The desk show the normal wear for its age. A few of the wood slats appear to be loose but all are present and intact. One of the Front legs of the desk has a wood gouge. There is a small blue plastic pen holder that is glued down inside of desk(the pen is missing) There is NO chair with this desk. The overall dimensions is 15”deep by 20 1/2” wide and 33 1/2” tall. The interior of the desk is 12 1/2” deep and 17 1/2” ... morewide. There are 4 cubicles inside of the desk each measuring 3 1/2” deep by 3 1/2” wide. The drawer 11 1/2” deep and 15 1/4” wide and 1 1/2” high. Many use these as decorative displays for plants. Antiques, and crafts. But, if you want to play“school” you will need a chair. Take a look at my other listing. I have 2 other school desk one from ASCo and the other from Theodor Kundtz Co. listed. Here is a wonderful little miniature light oak ROLL-TOP DESK that is either a salesman's sample or a child's desk. Exactly like a regular roll-top desk in every respect: the tambour door slides smoothly up to reveal a roomy interior with handy little cubbies. There is also a drawer which slides easily. I'm guessing it to date anywhere from 1900-30. Great condition; the finish does show some discoloration. Notably on the left side(see photos) I'm not sure if this aging, or the varnish ran. So I can only go by what I was told, but back when I bought it, the dealer informed me that the desk AND chair are a MATCHED PAIR that are from the 1920's. He said the brass hardware on the drawers are consistent with that period, but is not certain if they are the actual ... moreoriginal handles that were on it the day it was first sold. Unfortunately, I can't remember the manufacturers name, but you might be able to tell by looking at the pictures. I looked it over and couldn't find any labels or markings. I love the little chair. The fully functional brass hardware and triple banister post back. Coupled with the corkscrew design for raising and lowering the chair height is such a clever and inventive design. It is also very strong and sturdy! They just don't make chairs this durable any more! You can truly feel the history when you see this set. It is a great little set. The desks roll top is fully functional and there are little cubby cubicles inside for storage. There are 2 smoothly sliding drawers with a skeleton key type lock. No key though. The desk and chair both have the appropriate normal wear and tear marks from the last almost 100 years. But they both are in pretty good shape considering they was used by children. You can see minor maintenance repairs here and there, but nothing major that I can see. Just stuff like a couple new screws here and there.
