Antique Art Nouveau Sterling Silver Overlay Cranberry Perfume Bottle w/Stopper
You are bidding on a beautiful early 1900's Antique Art Nouveau Dark Cranberry Perfume Bottle with intricate silver lace decoration surrounding the entire bottle and a silver heart stopper. There is a silver cartouche with a fancy capital letter"D" engraved in the center of it. The word"STERLING" is stamped on the opposite side of the cartouche on one of the lower silver laces. Hard to see with the naked eye but it is visible. The bottle is in excellent condition except for some internal hairlines on one side of the inter neck of the bottle which we believe happened from the heat of the silver when it was being applied, there are no other defects. We do not believe the silver heart stopper is an original stopper to the bottle because most the bottles and stoppers we've seen on Ebay look like each other, at least ... morein this style, but it is a very nice stopper and it inserts into the bottle very well. The measurements of the bottle are: 2-9/16" tall, 2-1/16" wide. The measurements of the stopper are: 2" tall, 3/8" wide. With the stopper inserted in the bottle they are: 3-15/16" tall. We have started the bidding at a very reasonable price compared to what we have seen currently on Ebay and there is no reserve. The shipping cost is based on delivery in the USA only. This bottle is in Excellent Condition with some minimal chipping to the end of the glass stopper. There are no other chips. Cracks, and or repairs. The bottle measures 4 1/4" tall with stopper x 3 1/4" without stopper x 1 1/8" at the top rim x 2 1/2" wide x 1 1/8" at the base and weighs with stopper 108 grams. The pattern is thin scrolls with dogwood flowers and there is a flowery script 2 letter monogram on the irregular shield shaped plate"LM" Excellent condition with no damage noted but the stopper is stuck in. And has not been removed for the 25 years I have had it on display. It may come out with warm water soaks. I just never tried. I could not find out who made the bottle or who the master silver smith was.The sterling silver is not marked sterling or 925. I had it tested& it is sterling. I believe it is German made. It is hallmarked as shown in the last photo. I do not know the fineness of the silver. The glass bottle has no chips. Cracks or staining. There are a couple shallow flakes on the fitting edge of the stopper. A pretty piece fresh from a central Connecticut home and new on the market. Up for bids is an antique Art Nouveau style perfume bottle. It is made of glass with sterling silver overlay. I believe it is called squat shaped. The overlay is done in a very beautiful floral/leaf pattern. Overall the bottle is in good to great condition. As far as I could tell there is no loss of sterling. Repairs, or cracks/chips/breaks to the glass. The only mark I could find on it is Sterling. There is some minor residue inside from whatever was in it years ago. Also the sterling has a couple minor dings on the rim. It has a place for a monogram that is clear and ready for your personalization. It comes with its original matching stopper. The hand blown stopper would be in great shape if it wasn't for the one chip as seen in the pics. Antique Gorham Silver Overlay Glass Perfume Bottle --1871-- almost 6 inches tall
This auction if for a lovely antique Gorham silver overlay glass perfume bottle which was left to me by my dad's great aunt when she passed in 1998 at the age of 90. We believe this belonged to her mother. I have kept it with me over the years but never used or decorated with it. Its time for some one else to enjoy it. The bottle bears the Gorham's Lion- Anchor- G mark on the silver near the bottom(visible in photo. The silver is also marked with"D1558" From what I have researched. The letters indicate the year in which the piece was made. According to the website.925-1000.com the letter D indicates the year 1871. Please, I am in no way an expert on silver or Gorham. I have researched as best I can so that I may list this item as accurately as possible. I do not have expert knowledge and am only going based on what I was ... moreable to learn during researching. The condition of the bottle is as you would expect for its age. Unfortunately there are some cracks in the glass. There is a U shaped crack on the back of the bottle. There are some cracks on the interior of the neck of the bottle that are not visible unless the stopper is out. There is also a small flea bite in the glass on the bottom ridge of the stopper. None of these flaws are visible when the bottle is on display. I tried my best to picture them in the last three photos. The silver is in nice shape with a rich. Beautiful patina. The silver design creates lovely flower shapes over the glass. The height of the bottle, including the stopper, is almost 6 inches. The measurement around the widest part of the bottle is about 10.5 inches. The width of the bottom is about 2.5 inches. The width of the top of the stopper is a little over 2 inches. The bottle including the stopper weighs 15 ounces; just an ounce shy of 1 pound. Please view all of the photos as they are part of the description. Art Nouveau silver overlay glass perfume bottle and stopper circa 1910
This is a good example of the decorative perfume bottles being made during the early years of the 20th century in the Art Nouveau style. Please note there is some corrosion around the stopper and a small chip shown in the 3rd photo. The silver on the bottle needs polished but I will leave that to the buyer. Perfume Bottle For your consideration is an antique perfume bottle. The bottle is made out of glass and has a sterling silver overly with a floral design. The silver at the bottom is marked"D1887" and then a lion. An anchor, and another hallmark I cannot identify. The silver on the top stopper is marked"DEC" It stands roughly 4.25 inches tall and 2.75 inches wide. There are a couple small chips on the bottom of the stopper where it goes into the bottle. Other than the that there are no chips. Cracks, breaks, repairs, or damage that I can see. I am not sure the exact age of this but it is definitely older. Possibly from the 1800s. It needs a little polishing as it is straight from storage to eBay. No cracks to the bottle neck. No chips or cracks to the glass bottle. The stopper is clear with sterling silver overlay but likely not the original stopper. It does fit the bottle well and has only a few fleabites to the end. The sterling silver is of a good thickness. As you can see in the photos, and I do not find any breaks or missing sterling overlay. The sterling overlay to the stopper is likewise in excellent condition. Antique~1898~Perfume bottle~figural Repousse' Sterling Silver Overlay~WM Comyns
This week we have this absoutly gorgeous. Antique 19th century large perfume/scent bottle. Brilliant cut glass on all four sides is surrounded by intricate pierced(and solid) sterling silver overlay. This piece is hallmarked by one of London's top quality silversmiths' William Comyns. It is date marked for 1898 and fully hallmarked with the marks for sterling siver/London, the date mark of c and makers mark. The highly repousse' figural domed lid has a push button release/closure and hinged top. The piece still includes the orignal glass stopper. This is a suberb and highly sought-after piece in exceptional condition. Many of these are found with the bottom sterling portion missing all together. The piece measures 5' tall x 2" square. Antique perfume bottle Sterling silver overlay, English or US-made, ca 1905
This is an elegant antique Sterling Silver Overlay Perfume Bottle(1905 est. In my opinion it was made in America or England. It has number"35" etched on the bottom of the bottle and stopper. Meaning the stopper and bottle are a perfect match. Importantly, the delicate construction process of mating silver to glass resulted in no glass cracks. The stopper matches the scroll design, and the bottle has a thin, delicate, fancy script monogram of the word"Alice. Sterling" is clearly seen at the bottom rim. The glass and stopper are in mint condition. This piece likely held very expensive perfume. It is beautiful. Highly-desirable, functional art. Dimensions: 4" Tall(including stopper) and 2.25" at the widest diameter. These bottles often sell for $500 USD or more.

Antique GORHAM ? Sterling Silver Overlay Perfume Bottle Halmarks Lion* Anchor*G
This was purchased from a high end Auction where I even purchased a tiffany lamp and Vase what I can gather information on a Google Search. Art Nouveau Green Glass Perfume Bottle with Silver Overlay Hopkinsville
Beautiful emerald glass perfume bottle with silver overlay that spells out Hopkinsville. I assume Kentucky, considering how close it is. In fair shape, with scuffs to the silver, especially on the top ring, an odd ding on the top and a ding on the silver on the stopper. There also appears to be some damage to the inside glass neck, which must have been done during manufacture, since it's under the silver. There seems to be cracks or crazing, but I can't get a picture or even a good look at it. There are absolutely no marks, though it seems to match those made by Alvin and Gorham. There is either a g8 or 98 inscribed into the bottom of the stopper. The bottle it 2 3/8" high without the stopper, and 3 7/8" with the stopper.
