This is a really pretty blue/flowered tin that is square in shape. With a lid that is attached. This is at least 30-40+years old. It has the words"Container Made In Western Germany" along the bottom of the tin. This tin has some scratch marks across the top and the bottom is worn"looking" The pictures are the best description of this item. Along with its condition. You also have to wiggle it a little to close the lid- for its age- its in acceptable condition- I also kept the price very low to make up for the small defects. Some scenes and verbiage from the story are featured all around the base. The tin has slanted corners and a hinged lid. And was made by The Metal Box Company(presumably in England) It likely dates to the 1940s, and is in nice condition for its age. The pink trim is still pink, and often this has faded considerably to a non-pink color. The vintage wear and patina includes a few small areas of wear. Beautiful and Unusual Embossed Pastel Treasure Chest Tin I’m sort of enamored with this small vintage tin. I haven’t stumbled across one like it before. It’s an oddly shaped treasure chest. I guess, done in pastel colors with highly embossed details. The background color is a gray/silver color. The bottom is a good bit narrower than the top, the lid is curved and hinged, and the tin stands on four little rounded feet. The tin probably dates to the 1950s or 1960s and was made in Western Germany. The vintage wear and patina includes some small areas of wear. Some small scratches and scuffs, light handling marks and light soiling, some minor dents/dings, etc. On the back side. The two areas on the outside of the hinge dip down, but this appears intentional. Several small rust spots on the inside of the tin. Beautiful Vintage Bath Talcum Tin This small vintage tin is gorgeously decorated in pale blue. With Grecian ladies at a bath on the lid, and pink floral accents which border part of the lid and wind around the base. The tin likely dates to the 1920s and has a wonderful Art Deco sensibility. Once contained Grecian Rose Bath Talcum from Darnee Perfumer of New York, and made by Tindeco. The vintage wear and patina includes some small areas of wear. Some small scratches and scuffs, some handling marks and normal vintage soiling, some minor dents and dings, etc. There’s a layer of generalized soiling on the lid, more visible in the right light. Metal rims have darkened and there’s some early rust starting here. Some dark patina starting inside, and there’s a cluster of worn areas on the inside of the lid. So Pretty Vintage Green Tin with Yellow/Gold Floral Motifs This vintage tin has earned a very pretty antique patina over time. Large round size. With a slightly flatter height than expected, the tin is done in retro green and has yellow floral motifs(aged to a gold color now) artfully arranged around the lid. The flowers have both an Art Nouveau and an Art Deco sensibility, and the wear and patina has added a crackled effect for a wonderful aged appearance. Looks to date to the 1930s or so. No branding, though the tin contained three pounds of something, and was made by the Independent Can Co. of Chicago. The vintage wear and patina includes some small areas of wear. Lovely Vintage French Nursery Rhyme Tin This vintage tin was made in France. And is decorated on the lid with a scene of children at an outdoor picnic under an apple tree. It appears to be a scene from a nursery rhyme, though I’m not sure which one. The children appear to be in Dutch clothing, with a little girl holding hands with two little boys– one with a ribbon on his chest, and the other dressed in blue. The artwork is by Gaston Marechaux. The red and black base has interesting retro graphics, and the lid is hinged. The tin has vintage wear and patina. There are some small areas of wear. Some scratches, handling marks, soiling, some small dents and dings, etc. There is a good bit of soiling on the tin. With the lid soiled and darkened, and with some small worn-to-silver areas. This is a great box for any use where you want a light weight approximately 8-1/2" L x 5-1/2" W x 3" D tin box. Each side depicts a different pub scene in the 1700s dress. The bottom is stamped Container Made in Belgium. There is a locking mechanism but no key. The box in fairly good condition. It is what you see- a vintage quart measuring pitcher. Cup or whatever they used to call it. The pour spout does show some slight bendys here and there, nothing horrible. Some very good cook probably put this to good use, The measurement lines are part of the metal shape, as is the 1/2 pt. 1 pt. 1 1/2 pt and 1 qt. liq'd words. Art Deco Vintage Tin in Turquoise and Red Orange– Rare Find What a wonderful vintage find! This Art Deco design shows up more often on a large cigar tin that dates to the 1920s or so. Which in itself is rather collectable. I’ve only seen this design reproduced on a tin box of this size a few times– it’s a candy box size and presentation. Beautiful cathedral shaped artwork in turquoise and red-orange, with a lion crest in the center of the lid and stately birds on each corner of the lid. The lid is heavy/reinforced and is hinged, and the tin was made by Canco. Likely dates to the 1920s or early 1930s. In nice condition, too, with very little paint loss! The vintage wear and patina includes a few small areas of wear. A few small scratches and scuffs, some handling marks and normal vintage soiling, some minor dents and dings, etc. Dent on the ... morelid at front edge. Difficult to photograph since it follows the artwork. Quite a few little dings on the inside of the lid. And there’s a more noticeable dent in the bottom(at one edge) which protrudes on the bottom of the outside as well. Some scuffs and stains on the inside. Nothing major. Some dings and small crease dents on very bottom of tin. Hinge is well attached and moves freely. And tin opens and closes fine. Again. Condition issues of note: Nice condition. Very little paint loss. Small-ish dent on lid at front edge of lid. Difficult to capture in photos. A lot of little dings on the inside of the lid. A noticeable dent in the bottom at edge. Protrudes on the outside, too. Some stains and wear inside. Some small dings and crease dents on the very bottom. Approximate size of tin is about 7.75” by 4.25” by about 2.5” tall. The tin is empty.
